Have to confess I never followed them, or the whole "grunge scene" if that's an appropriate classification. But the samples you've posted reveal a terrific talent, and one that left us too soon.

To clarify, You are correct in the statement of Classification, in that STP just got "Chucked in " with the grunge bands.  It has been documented in a few different articles I have read that the real "Grunge" bands did not care for them that much.  STP was really just a hard ricking band. They embraced "Arena rock" and were very near flirting with heavy metal.

BGD gave some great examples but I have to say that THIS  is my desert island  STP song.  DEAD AND BLOATED ( add headphones and crank it up!)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdCEPhNBnrM

Try a power conditioner. This is a great buy! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor … onditioner  heck get it test it and if it doesn't work return it. if it does not eliminate it, it may reduce it a lot for you.  Heck @ 30 bucks I may buy one!  Don't need all that, then try this. http://www.amazon.com/Ebtech-Hum-Voltag … onditioner  with amazon you know you will have no trouble returning it either.   They also have the other one on prime for 10 more bucks but I would see what MF is going to charge you for shipping and compare.

As far as the guitars them selves, Has anyone asked a Tech about shielding? or checking the grounds?

Well, this is me the day I got my Rogue Beatle Bass. Notice no cable to amp, but I was so excited I couldn't wait. The shirt is one I saw Don McLean wear on one of the videos we have and yeah, I also forgot to put on my boots. smile

Thanks for considering this one.

Do not worry about shoes, You know that Ronnie Van Zant never wore shoes on stage, no matter how hot it was he was bare footed

Why did Ronnie go barefoot on stage?
"He didn’t like shoes, they always bothered him. He’d kick them off whenever we were practicing or anywhere else he could. I think because it was just always so hot where we were in Florida. We noticed some people not wearing shoes on stage, like the singer from Three Dog Night and there were a few others. Shoes bothered Ronnie anyway. We all thought it looked cool."

Amy thanks for the good edits and info.

Jeff, thanks man.

AS I saidi to Zurf today on text,

I decided to take the SG in for for a set up since its been about 7 yrs or so,and it has some little issues that were starting to get on my nerves, so now as I walk in I see the Bugera 2X12  tube amp, and man been wanting to try that one out,, so then i have to look at the wall of guitars,  well first I see some pretty sweet Jacksons, but they were all HH set ups, so then I look over and the color of this catches my eye, Played it, and put it back and walked away and then between the deal of a price and color it followed me home.  So in essence its the SG's fault! LOLOL

This is one that has been put together after a week or so of late night thoughts.  Spiral note book sat by the bathroom sink. great place to catch late night notes before forgetting them. and on the way to the head is funny enough when I have them.  Seemingly random thoughts that all of the sudden come together.
Here it is.

Dark bags under my eyes
Slammed to the mental edge
A hard man can never cry
My souls mired and dredged.

Crush of will, play to kill
Got a lot of time to fill
Come play with me
Test my skill.

They point their finger
Right at me.
They cant see the other three
Pointing back to thee!

Bombastic, sarcastic, Stay up all night,
Are we going to fight?
Sadistic, hedonistic,
Or are we voyeuristic?

once again,, music needed.

As you guys know I’m sitting in Everett Washington, Its Sat after turkey day. I want to get out and do something.  So I decide the SG needs a set up since its been 7 yrs and I have noticed a few annoying things lately.  Found a local music store that’s been around a while and has a few other stores around.  9 min from hotel,, very nice.

I drop it off and make mistake of looking around.  LOLOL.  I look on the wall, and I heard a little whimper,,, and damn if this did not follow me home!

Yep it’s a Squire, but look at that color! and it plays really nice, and i have 30 days to take it in for a free set up on a new guitar purchas from them.   Man it called me back 2 times and the HSS set up is just great! It also had a 20% off sale on one item so it was only 140 and I bought the cheapest gig bag at 33 bucks and its pretty stout.  So yes Im pretty happy and Merry Christmas to me. (not posting on FB so wife wont know! LOL not till I break it in on her as a great deal after Christmas lol, and I pay it off on my card LOL)

I would like to point out that this NGD is my first in at least 7 yrs.  My  Ovation was a inherited ngd and the rest have been for one of the boys or the other.

one hell of a deal! get it fixed and add pick up. make an A/E out of it.  visit GFS for parts!

any way we can upgrade to just upload pics like on FB?

With a Breedlove, a Martin, and a Guild, my guitars aren't what you're finding.  I do my homework first.  She's been supportive of my guitar habit.  That said, I have to fit them all in my office, and with the three aforementioned guitars plus a fiddle, an autoharp, three amps, a PA, an electric Ibanez, and two electric basses, I've about reached my limit.  There's space for one more guitar on the stand and I'm thinking a Taylor nylon string AE with a cutaway.  Or possibly a The Loar archtop acoustic.  It's hard to say.  I better buy a quad rack instead of a triple and then I can get both.

Hmmm.  What was the topic again?

Wall  hangers.  start filling the walls.
