I 've had a couple of thoughts running around my head for about a week now.
I woke up about 4 am this morning - poured my self a big cup of coffe - grabbed my guitar and came up with this song.
Hope you like it

  No Way by Jim Kenyon

[C]Seems like I been up since the [F]middle of [C] March

Feeling just like I’m wet change on [G] some bar

And the [C]rain’s coming down so hard I can [F]barely [C]see

but it [G]can’t wash away the [F]ache in my [C] heart

.

[C]Maybe things will get better in the [F]days to [C]come

But this sure feels different in a pe[G]culiar way

And it [C]seems I’ve got a running start on[F] losing my[C] mind

as I [G]search for the right words to [F]make her [C]stay

.

Chorus

[F] I’ve never been scared of nothing, no, I’ve never run [C]away

[F]Ain’t been afraid to fight for what’s right, my whole life[C] through

[F]Oh there’s been times that I’ve walked away from[C] trouble

But [G]Darling, there's no [F]way I can walk away from [C]you

.

[C]Sometimes it’s best to let things un[F]fold in their own [C]way

And forget the hurt and the reasons that caused [G] the pain

I think[C] it’s time to move on and [F]time to [C]forgive

Time to [G]smile and believe in [F]love all over[C] again

.

No, there's [G]no way I can [F]walk away from [C]you

[G]there's no way I can [F]walk away from [C]you

[G]there's no way I can [F]walk away from [C]you

DE you are correct - they are Australian built Matons

yea - i'm close to Mojo on this one

I would like to see crucifixion, rising from tomb, any of the miracles, or Moses parting the sea

I'm a believer- but man - to witness that - a different dimension.

I always wonder if the people that did witness it - knew what the heck they saw and how significant it was

Like it JETS !

It is strange how we get little tidbits of information, an offer that seems impossible to refuse,   a few emotions roused that you never had before ,
or something catches our eye ....... and ya think to yourself - is this what  I have been looking for ?

Good song man !

Thanks for sharing - I will look forward to when you post the recording

I was playing this song I wrote a while ago this morning - decided it needed some changes
- added a verse and changed a few other lyrics

Some Girls Are Hard To Impress Jim Kenyon

[G]Everything about her makes me feel just right

[Cmaj7]got tender heart and the prettiest eyes

[G]I’d love to be with her every night

she’s[D] good at everything she [Cmaj7] does, and barely even[G] tries

.

[G]I love the way she moves, she’s always at ease

[Cmaj7] cooler than any girl that I’ve ever seen

[G] like a ray of sunshine or cool summer breeze

she’s [D]so hard to hold onto[Cmaj7], if you know what I [G]mean.

.

Chorus

[Cmaj7] yeah I buy her everything that I can afford

[G] make all the right moves, n’ say the right words

[Cmaj7] been trying real hard to do my best

But ya [D] know some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

Yea - ya [D] know some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

.

[G] Well, you never know what she’s gonna do

[Cmaj7] Her laughter charms the air with every sound

[G] She’s funny, she’s sexy, and occasionally wild

She [d]makes everything [Cmaj7] better when she’s a[G]round

.

[G]As pretty as a spring flower in full bloom

[Cmaj7]got a thousand expressions of every sort

[G]a smile that just lights up every room

oh [D]she can make forever [Cmaj7] seem way too [G]short

.

Chorus

[Cmaj7] yeah I buy her everything that I can afford

[G] make all the right moves, n’ say the right words

[Cmaj7] been trying real hard to do my best

But ya [D] know some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

don't ya[D]know some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

don't ya[D]know some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

yeah [D] some girls are [Cmaj7]hard to im[G]press

Yes CG thanks for the find - it was great

TF - Did you see Tedesky Trucks version of it - - that was just as good maybe better.

CG THANKS for doing the Blues fix - I too look forward to it each week

Jim

AS this great topic was about time traveling - here is a hypothetical proposition  I often propose to my students....
I thought it might be interesting to ask here in this thread as well.

"You have been given the gift of one time travel..... you have the ability to go back in time and witness one and only one historical event. You cannot interfere or change the outcome, only witness it. after the event you will return to the present time.    What event would you choose and why? "

Peatle - Ditto what TF said -

Holy Moly - I cannot imagine someone convincing me to do that just to sing!

Phill

I have always wondered about that song as well.  " are we human.....?

As for the comparisons - it s comparing apples to oranges to grapes for me....

all had virtue in what they expressed- just traveling on different avenues at different times.

One of the complaints I have today ( as I am heading toward the grumpy side:)  ) is that concerts today are a lot more about show, dancing, holograms, pyrotechnics, etc...    than the actual music.   I believe that is why groups like Eagles, REO. Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac, Kiss,  Lynard Skynard,  and performers like Elton John still sell out the arenas..... I went to Fleetwood Mac a few weeks ago - they were awesome in the 70's,  and now they are in their 70's and they still rocked it !!!!
Just think if the Beatles were still around !
I am currently revamping an area in my house to accommodate my amp, turntable and speakers - just bc I miss playing my LP's.

EB

Thanks for a great post.

Whats sad is that you have been on chordie for many years and have only posted 3 times in the forum. - all the same message.

I don not have any of those ad problems.

When you figure it out, I would hope you would join us more often in a more pleasant comment.

GC, Bill, Peatle
Thank you so much for your very kind words.
As you all well know, music from the heart always carries that extra special meaning.
I made a music video with it.  My family is going to Topsail Island for vacation this week and I cannot go due to other obligations...
I am going to Email it to them as an Easter Morning present.

Thanks again guys - I really appreciate your comments!
