Cheers Jan maybe it would be a good discussion to have on chordie everyone's favourite movie tunes.?     I remember," The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain" has done a couple great versions of movie music. The theme from the movie "Shaft" and also "The Good Bad And Ugly" theme.

Here is my entry for this month ta song I wrote 8 years ago on a rainy day called "Cat Murder Blues" .  As usual it was just recorded on my cellphone.

Cheers Jan I also enjoyed the film "To Sir With Love" when It came out. Not only can Lulu sing but she can act on stage her banter between songs is brilliant.

Thank you Jan this recording of Richard song by the Perth radio station was really well done. Their sound engineer had it balanced perfect his vocal and guitar.  Richard's song writing and performance on this one was bang on.

Seeing the mention of cockles on here reminds me of that Irish folk song “Molly Malone” about a fishmonger who sells cockles and mussels from her barrow.   A song my dad use to sing at parties when I was a kid.

Wow, Kimnancy that is clever the way you use cars and parking as a metaphor for the way people connect on the internet and make a community even though their miles away and haven't met physically. I hope more people like you will come on here and rev their engines with pride.  Please keep contributing on this virtual domain Kimnancy.

Easy Beat has put up "Songs I wish I Had Written". recently ' I like many songs so many that I can't put a number on here because there is too many. I will make this song my last one in this series. I think this song lyrics are a timeless treatise on the senselessness of war.

Cheers Piri and Jim, thanks for your feedback. I will attach a favourite live performance of a Bee Gees song with Maurice Gibb and his ex wife Lulu.

Cheers Piri, my Maree liked their disco music but I couldn't get into it.  Maree liked that film "Saturday Night Fever".  Sometimes just to wind Maree up or get a bite out of her I will refer to Johnny Travolta as Johnny Revolta. One of their later songs that I did like was this one which I will attach here.

Easy Beat has put up "Songs I wish I Had Written". recently ' I like many songs so many that I can't put a number on here because there is too many. But one that lyrically made sense to me in the worldwide mainstream is this song though I have mixed feelings about the band that originally wrote it. I liked some of their earlier songs and then later on I thought they lost their way, apart from one or two songs But one thing I couldn’t fault them on was their collective vocal harmonies.

Excellent feedback Jan, Piri and Jim thank you.
Jim your brilliant words are more of a reflection of the narrative running through my head rather than the lyrics on the song I put up by Derrick Dove&The PeaceKeepers.
Though there have been times when the song that I put up here reflects the temporary moods that I go through.
I think that band is from Texas but I'm not sure as they don't seem to get much airplay down here in New Zealand.  Though having said that I don't listen to mainstream radio much.

Jan, this is the first time I have heard Joni sing that latest version definitely would have to be the best version I have heard. Her older voice has a nice resonance to it that makes the more mature version have more impact.

Jim i didn't realize Joni was married to Graham Nash.  I knew she wrote Woodstock the song for the band he was in Grosby , Stills and Nash. She had a hit with Woodstock also but I always preferred the G, Sand N version. I will attach them doing that song live.

Another clever lyrically written song Jim . When I saw the title I was thinking about how our Auctioneers down in this part of the world say, "going going gone"  before dropping their  gavel to confirm the winning successful bid.     In your song it takes on a different meaning.

Easy Beat has put up "Songs I wish I Had Written". recently ' I like many songs so many that I can't put a number on because there is too many. But one that lyrically made sense to me in the worldwide mainstream is Joni Mitchell '"Both Sides Now.". For me it speaks about not wanting to cause to much unnecessary friction.
My mum always said to me that is impractical. but somehow it defines how we all should be.

Though I have known of this song since it was put out and so do many other Kiwis,  not many know who commissioned it originally down in this part of the world.
