I have an older Ventura acoustic that I picked up second hand in 1979. About three years ago I brought it in to have a set up done. It was suggested that a bone nut and bridge and ebony pins would make a world of difference. Well, it really did! Even though she now is semi retired to play the occasional camp fire. She still rings out loud and true. 130 bucks well spent!

You are right Joe, what an epic journey for sure. Being a newby here, I'd love to have a peek in that package too!

Glad to hear you got the new baby all spiffed up and ready to go! I traded my old 12 string years ago for another six string, that I don't play much now. I have the itch to get another one if the right one comes along.
I too have tried and failed to post pictures here. Just dumb I guess. So, if you learn how, please teach this old  dog a new trick. lol....

Zurf, I must be doing something wrong I can't remember the last time I broke a string.
I guess I'm just not playing hard enough. lol..Maybe I should work on that :-)

Like Zurf I haven't done any painting on my guitars, yet. Sometime in the future perhaps. So keep us updated on your project and let us know how it comes out. I'm sure Russell will chime in to help as he has done beautiful work redoing some of his guitars. Good luck Spike!

Sometimes finding and using old gear, is almost as fun as buying new gear.

Glad to hear you like the plugged in version of your guitars too. Now make some noise!!

Hey there Russ, I'd love to hear the final compilation of this! I am always in awe of your skills.

This musical journey we are on has it's ebb's and flows. And it's guys like you that can help to smooth the peaks and valleys who are a valuable resource.

Hope to hear from you soon!!

That was as smooth as an old Kentucky bourbon Pete! Awesome job! I have been lurking your site for awhile now and I always look forward to the next song post.

I know I'm going off topic here, but what mic are you using and what set up do you have? It sounds so good!

Thanks for sharing can't wait to hear the next one!

Even if I could somehow get to the U.K.I'm sure my strummin would not make the cut. But it would be cool to meet Graham!

For sure that would be really cool! I'm up in the hills above Albany and I think Amy is in the western part of the state near the finger lakes. But any time she or any Chordie person is near here. They would be more than welcome to sit in with me. And here at home I have a few guitars a PA, plenty of mic's and a cold beverage on hand at all times!  Just drop in anytime!

Perhaps in the future a New York chordiestock!!

Thank you so much Pete. I really appreciate the nice words. I have been checking out your site for awhile now,and I'm a fan of yours for sure! I am so computer illiterate outside of work,I'm not sure how to get something on u tube. But my daughter in law is helping me a bit so hoping to get something up soon. LOL,no stardom here, just hoping to keep the mistakes to a minimum and have fun! Thanks again.

Graham, that is by far the best advice given to me or anyone who may be performing, practicing,or just starting out. Do it for yourself. It doesn't get any more pure than that! You are so right on sir, thanks again.
