This is just amazing TIG you are such a talented writer. Quite close to me we have a pub called The Dead Poets, and once a month theirs a meeting of The Dead Poets Society where talented poets and musicians showcase their latest works. This would raise the roof. Great work.

It's no help to this thread but COLOR seems a really strange way of spelling COLOUR. My spell checker even puts a red line under it. But I suppose it all means the same thing. Reading glasses Bill they'll cost you £1 a pair from Boots Chemists. I'll send you some if you need them.

Never had a lesson in my life. I learned mainly through books I scrounged from other people. This was back in early 70s. Now with YouTube and chordie life is so much easier. Stick with it and enjoy, and welcome to chordie.

I like that. It has a nice summery feel to it, although the sun came out for a few hours this afternoon, so thats probably summer over and done for us.

Topic: Brain cell takes a vacation. (7 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
So there we are sat in the pub Sunday lunchtime. A few of us passing the guitar round downing a few beers and playing a few tunes. Although not particularly a Beatles fan I thought I'd play 'In My Life' just coz it's easy and I know it. I'm sure you're all familiar with the intro with that very recognisable guitar riff, so off I go. The only problem was it came out as Tracy Chapmans 'Fast Car'. I have never played this before in my life and don't know where it came from, but it wouldn't leave me. As I don't know the lyrics to Fast Car I had to abandon that project and settle for an old favorite of mine 'Four Strong Winds'. Not sure if the brain cell was having a day off or it was swimming in Titanic Plum Porter.

If we had three inches of snow this country would be in shutdown. Schools, factory's, shops, offices everything would close. The only places to thrive during bad weather are the pubs. Come to think of it, could you send us some of your snow please.

We have a family member in hospital now as we speak. Once in a responsible job as a secretary to a solicitor, now she's a total wreck due to her passion for vodka and gin. A few months ago she set off on a cruise, on her way from Southampton to Antigua she was such a nuisance they had no option but to lock her up. Put her ashore in Antigua and deported her. Cost her thousands of pounds and only saw the inside of a prison. I feel sure your energy levels will increase as you get away from the JD habit.

Sometimes everything in a song just falls into place and this is one of those songs. Your voice suits the lyrics, the laid back tempo makes me think of long summer days on holiday, and on this one i particularly like your tub thumper sat at the back. He's got this one off to perfection.

Well that's going to make people sit up and listen. Personally I was expecting something to come out of the backdrop and swallowing the drummer. If I were him I'd move to the front. Your having a lot of fun, and that's what its all about.
