Can't claim I'm totally self-taught! I learned a bit from books, A bit from other people. I do have a friend who just picked up a guitar and without the aid of any books, teachers, or videos, can play just about anything, no matter how difficult! That to me is the true difinition of self taught. So if you didn't learn that way, then you are not self taught. Some people are just that way, wish I was!!!

I've never heard this term before! I know I shouldn't...But I'm "assuming" busking means playing music on a street corner. Let me know if I'm correct. Sounds just like the government though, if they can't make any money for it, then you or I shouldn't be doing it!!!

If you ask me, Axle ain't nothing more than a thief. He has a rockstar attitude. 15 years sounds
alot like Boston! should'nt take 15 years to put out an album, and then to use other peoples
material [unless he had their permission] is pretty pathetic. I lost all respect for him a long time
ago. Theres a new Guns and Roses: Can you say Velvet Revolver?

I'm not big on superstitions either, The only bad thing I ever had happen to me on the 13th
(which by the way wasn't even on a Friday) was when I broke my collarbone. That happened
on a Sunday. And not everyone in America is superstitious, or crazy. Every country has there
superstitions and crazies also, no countries are without!

I don't understand what that has to do with 13th floor, since there was no 13th floor attached
to the building. But if you must know, it's due to the number 13 being an unlucky number.
It's sad that someone has to die at such a young age, but stupid is as stupid does! Thats why
they have laws 'bout thing like that. A little bit of common sense goes a long way.

I have a Mexican built tele, and I love it. My brother had a Squire...ugh! worthless! could never
keep it in tune. sitting in my basement in pieces. Whenever I get the money, I'll buy some real
parts and put it back together. For now it's better left in pieces so know one can hear it.
I'm really not a big fender fan, but I do love my tele. It has good quality parts. It's an american
standard, but was assembled in mexico. I have no idea where the Squire's were made and
what parts they use, or if they still make them like they did. The Squire I'm referring to is 'bout
15 years old, so maybe there better now. getfiddle

If it's a finished fretboard, than just wipe it down. Make sure you get clean 'round the frets.
If it's not a finished fretboard, you can use any furnisher polish. And henryb is right, not matter what type of cleaner you use, there's no substitute for scrubbing!

I agree, Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon, and Meatloaf Bat Out Of Hell were good selling albums. I also think Brian Johnston has done a fabulous job of taking over for the late great
Bon Scott. I use the term taking over out of respect for Bon Scott, cause no one could replace him. But someone could carry on where he left off. If you listen to the both of them, you will find some similarities. They both have gruff sounding vocals 'cept Bon Scott's were a high
pitch, and Brian Johnston's are a lower pitch. I like both of them. And your right. Brian Johnston has proved himself or he wouldn't have stayed around for 25 years!!

What if we all wrote political songs that were designed to form a political conservation back and forth? would those be closed also? This is called "chat corner" and you should be able to discuss whatever you want in here. I didn't see anything getting heated. If we shouldn't talk about politics or religeon, than maybe we shouldn't write songs about them either and post them here!
Moderate if you want, but use some common sense also. were all adults, and I'm sure were all capable of having a conversation without insulting or killing each other. Just my opinion!!

I'm with southpaw41L. I learned using the pointer, middle, and ring. but quickly relized that using the middle, ring, and pinky provided easier and quicker chord cnanges! I only use the pointer, middle, ring, and pinky in certain songs. I actually use two [three and four fingered] versions in the song "God Shuffled His Feet" by the Crash Test Dummies!

A 'hammer on' as is the proper terminology, is when you play one note then quickly drop a
finger down on the string to sound another note. example: play the top E string open, then while it is still ringing drop your ring finger down on the third fret, same string. Thats the best way I know how to explain it. 'You do not have to strike the string again'. Hope that helps!

There are many very talented song writers, but I have to agree that Dylan rates up among
the top. He has written so many great songs that I don't think you could single out any one
in perticular, and he has written many songs for other artist. Great songsmith indeed!!!

Russell,
I actually had it hooked up to a 4-track, but could not record because the mic was to sensitive. So
we listened to nature. I think the next time we get a really nasty storm I'm gonna set it up and
record some awsome sound effects!

I agree free is the way to go. This came with the sound card I bought at Guitar Center. But I do
have Audacity also and I really like it. I also have a really good sensitive set of recording mics.
So sensitive that I'm gonna have to build a sound booth just to use them. Lets just say that I set
one up at my girlfriends place and with the headphones on we heard a tree frog outside!! And the
windows were closed. That's sensitive!!
