The '59 reissue PAF's should approximate that sound, more or less.

Like these?

You can get an overwound version of the Kent Armstrong PAFs, might be a better choice if you're going to be using a lot of distortion.

Single coil or Humbucker?

Try these:

No experience with them myself (yet), but they're supposed to be some of the best pickups available.

Don't worry, I put up with Oasis fans. wink
I personally can't stand Oasis but if everyone liked the same music...this would be one boring Guitar Forum! lol

If that works, it's probably not a good sign.

You're right, it isn't. If that happens the neck isn't connected properly. Either the thread's gone on the neck bolts or they haven't been tightened.

A Mexican Strat is a Fender Strat:

That's a Mexican Strat.

There are two types of Fender Strat: MIM (Made in Mexico) and MIA (Made in America).

These PCs can be a right pain sometimes can't they? wink

Good luck Russ, at least you know it's only affecting your PC and everyone else can see and hear the videos properly.

BTW, you would be able to add a new graphics card to your PC, though to be honest if it's that old it's probably not worth it. You should still be able to add the new lightscribe drive to a new PC, you'll be able to get one eventually. smile

Cause I play Video Games on this one it dates more quickly, it's about 4-5 years old and it's as good as out of date already! lol

ark i can try that, tibernius there is no external sound card the pc shop said it was built in and the hewlet packard im running has a 32 bit processor i think its less then a half gig of ram so i dont know if that makes the difference in why, i dont know how to improve the speed of my pc other then getting a new one and the purse strings are a little tight right now so i will have to make do with stone knives and square wheels till my ship comes in the last ship was sunk in the harbor

Chances are it's either the RAM or the graphics/sound card. Is it a desktop PC or a Laptop? Are you using windows XP?

Your internet connection seems fine, the one I'm using is a similar speed and no problems here. BUT this PC has 1GB of Ram and a fairly new Graphics card.

If it's a desktop PC it's easy (and cheap) to add more RAM. At the moment you can get 1GB of RAM for about £40, I don't know about the US price though.

32Gb? That must be the hard drive, not the RAM.
This PC's got 1GB, I think the current max is 4GB?

Anyway, if they work on your PC but are out of sync after upload, I'd reckon it's either the Internet connection or an error on the Site. This is one hard question, none of the usual answers work. hmm

Ok, I've had a response. A couple of questions for you, not sure if you'll have the info but worth a try:

Do you have any info about your PC; How much RAM, which graphics card, processor, etc?

Which program are you using to record/edit the videos?

I know someone who might be able to help, I'll send him a link to this thread and some info and see if he knows.

You know how on YouTube you get a red bar showing how much has been loaded? That's the buffer.
Best thing to do is start the video, wait until it starts moving then pause it, wait until it's loaded about half of it then play it.
If you don't it can cause the problems you mentioned.

Could you download the videos from the site, and then play them once you've downloaded a copy? That would show if it's the internet connection.

And are you leaving the file to buffer first?

I'll see if I can find more info out at the weekend.

119

Could be your internet connection. hmm

I've heard that uploading to YouTube decreases the picture guality, it could be the same with MySpace. Does it keep the original format when it's uploaded?

Either way I'd say that the website is causing the problem.

It shouldn't make any difference, in theory.

Here's my favourite:

"Got on the 47, transfered to the 89, left town east-bound past all the city signs." from 5 State Drive - Less Than Jake

"Waking up at 12, in my clothes again, felt my head explode from a night of gin." Just a Day - Feeder

"Sit down, remind me how, this is the same old story of growing up and getting lost." Help Save the Youth of America from Exploding - Less Than Jake

"Yesterday I lost my closest friend, yesterday I wanted time to end, I wonder if my heart will ever mend..." 4AM Forever - Lostprophets

My intent was not to end this great thread, just wanted to put out a warning and make everyone aware of the sticky note on the song request forum. IMO a line or two of the lyrics should be o.k. - if you want or need to post more, I would suggest providing a link to one of those lyric sites, or a link to the actual song here on chordie. I know, silly, right,  - damn lawyers.

I'll post a few of my favourite lines later then. wink

I thought about beginning a similiar thread a couple of weeks ago, but was concerned it may turn into trouble. So, just as a reminder, this is a message from the song request forum:

Chordie does not host songs. It is a search engine that formats songs it finds on the internet. There are several reasons for this (most of them legal).

Please read FAQs on chordie's 'Resources' page for a longer explanation.

This also means that NO LYRICS can be posted in this forum.

You are however allowed to post links to songs on the internet, and you are allowed to post one-liners explaining how to play a song.

Any posting of lyrics may result in Chordie having to shut down! I will therefore automatically delete the account (and the songbook) of persons violating this rule, as well as ban their domain from accessing Chordie.

Please report any violation of this rule immediately!

What's the decision then? Can we post if it's only a small amount of the lyrics (say, less than one verse) or not?

Thanks Eagleeye.

I think pickngrin means that the lines changed so they aren't the same length, eg:

6----4---6----
----3---5---7-

to
12----13---4----
----3---5---7-

if that's the case (not sure if it is) you just remove some of the "-" until it's the same length.
