As a cat person with a moggy that has been a beloved member of our family for 11 years, you have my sympathy. making the decision to put a pet down is agonising, partly because you can't explain to them that you are doing it to spare them suffering.

Hope all you Chordies in Eastern USA and Canada are doing OK through this terrible storm. The news media as seen from down here in NZ just repeats all the big networks reports and footage, but that just glosses over the real suffering of the ordinary guy in those parts of the storm path. Thnking of you all.

Happy birthday Chordie. You've made guitar playing more fun, and the online camaraderie and goodwill between chordians around the world is appreciated.

The trouble with large "professional" sports, is that the "sport" has really gone out of the equation. i.e; the notion that sport played purely for its own sake and the honest competitive pitting of skills against each other, is today an anachronism. Sport is about money, period. From the big corporations who own the teams or provide sponsorship  all the way down to the players who are only in it for the the big paycheck. This is where cheating comes in, because getting away with cheating means eaveryone in the sports foodchain gets to satisfy their ever expanding greed. Getting caught simply means all those sponsors, and administrators have to adopt a hand-wringing self rightious posture for a while, get rid of the scapegoat, then carry on as normal.

Your personal sacrifice will be be duly noted by Mrs JJJoey and may be to your advantage at a later day when you most need it.

Congratulations on a great achievement.

Remember the days when cars were simple - you could pull them apart and do own maintenance without worrying whether you are stuffing up your electronics - there weren't any! Now you have to pay far too much money to repair guys who would have you believe only they can do it, and it ends up costing you the price of a small house for a basic service.  Whew I feel better after that rant!

Andy Williams has died aged 84. He is famous for many great memorable songs, but Moon River has to be the most iconic and covered by other artists. RIP

Be sure to have on clean underwear too.

Where you been?  Hope you've been OK.

Hi Zurf, thanks for asking about me. I'm fine, just life is busy, and haven't checked in with Chordie as much as I'd like to. Even the guitar playing has been quiet, which is a terrible sin!!  Don't like to leave it too long,  the fingers get soft. However we are heading into summer down here so theres more incentive to sit outside and warble away with nature!

I agree with Roger - if a 12 wont hold up to  standard E tuning then dont buy it.  Mine has nevr been a problem.

My computer is 6 years old, and had it fully serviced recently - physically cleaned out internally of all the dust and fluff, because apparently it causes the cooling fans to overwork and slows down the processor speed. Also had it virus cleansed - even though I use Norton 360, there were over 500 viruses, worms, bugs, and other nasties sitting in there!! It now works like new, much faster.  well worth the $90 spend.

Yeah, sorry i opened up on the news media thing, its seems to have started a snowball. But I detest the media jargon that goes with politics as well, Every country has its own, and it seems to take over the news to the detriment of issues that really matter in this world, like poverty, hunger, war. Its all ratings based unfortunately and a starving child in Somalia doesnt rate highly.

When TV news create news where there isnt any. Theres lots of really important stuff happening out there that should be reported, yet some news channels will tell you  over and over that John Smith politician has changed the colour of his undies, and invent several reasons why, then analyse it to bits with mindless interviews and talkbacks, when really Who gives a flying fart...
