Piano cant really be learnt online the way the guitar can. It helps to have a teacher.

Another brick in the wall (in my personal opinion) is the worst pink floyd song i have ever heard.

On the song Venice Queen by red hot chili peppers John Frusciante starts off on an electric and has an acoustic on a stand infront of him. All he does is turn his electric down so there is no unwanted noise and then flips it over his shoulder and starts playing the acoustic. You can see it on Live At Slane Castle.

What are the advantages of the two input over the one?

There are a lot of good bass players around but the one most commonly know would have to be

FLEA.

It depends on what the criteria is, on pure bass playing skill there would be better bass players than flea but if the criteria includes impact and influence then i think he would be the top or close too it.

Another bass player that isnt as well known is Victor Wooten.

Also i dont know his name but if you go to you tube and search for 'super mario bass theme' or something along those lines there is a guy playing it on an 11 string bass. He is fingertapping.

The guitar is a lot, lot, lot learner friendly than the piano. If you want to learn a song on guitar you can just look up the chords or tab. If you want to learn a piece on piano it takes you (genrally) half a year to perfect it. (this is how long you get to learn it for an exam. This year im doing AMEB gr 6.

Here in Australia they use the Beach Boys "good vibrations" in a jingle for a white goods store. instead of going 'shes givin me good vibrations' it goes 'come in and see the good good good guys'. its the most annoying jingle on the air. Cadbury chocolate also uses 'wouldnt it be nice'

Im in the market for a loop pedal at the moment and are looking for advice. Ive done a little research myself and have found a nice little boss pedal. if any one has any comments or advice it would be welcomed. I have about $200-$300. the boss pedal i saw wasnt the big loop station it was the little one.

Thats pretty funny (not 9/11, the songs being banned). I think this is taking it a bit too far.

Before i picked up the guitar i had already learnt the piano. This gave me a massive amount of knowledge and allowed me to learn guitar almost over night. For anyone looking for a general knowledge of music LEARN THE PIANO. It has helped me learn: saxophone, guitar, bass ,drums, trumpet, flute, clarinet, xylophone, harmonica and the triangle lol. Is there anyone else who has learnt the piano and can justify this stament?

They give a heavier and fuller feel to the music but thats about it. They are generally used in metal and harcore stuff with high gain distortion.

There is something wrong with the new forum hardware. In all the old posts the smilies and the quotes show up as just html.

for heavy rock stuff like AC/DC and Led Zepplin this lick works well. If you know th penetatonic scale it will be alot easier. This example is in A

e-------------5
b----------5--
g------7b-----
D-------------
A-------------
E-------------

i think the chord that i find the hardest is any 6 chord. Im not sure if thats its name. If any can remind me it would be good . for example if i was playing this chord shape in d it would be

e-5
b-5
g-5
A-4
E-5

It took me AGES to get the A string to zound and not be muffled
the way you play it is that you bar the e.b.g strings with your 3rd finger and put your first on the d and your second on the a.
