Sorry Zurf ,

I am also a leach but I would like to participate also. I haven't played "Dock of the Bay " for a spell , I am gonna go revisit it smile

I have a Masterbuilt DR 500M and also have a J-45 Gibson and a HD-28 Martin. The Masterbuilt has the best action of the three and has the best neck and also sounds wonderful. I play it alot and would have a very hard time parting with it. The Masterbuilt quality varies so its best to try before you buy. If you find a good one, it will hold up against some of the Best Guitars out there.

I don't believe everyone says they are the greatest, I play with friends with Gibson's , Taylors, Takamines, Guilds and a few Martins too. I own a Martin and am very happy with it , I don't brag about it or try to convince others to own one. I also own other guitars and I am just as fond of them as the Martin. Today there are a lot of very good guitars out there without spending a fortune.

I do believe Amy chose a great guitar , call it whatever you like. This guitar is the Real Deal, just play one and compare it, this guitar speaks for itself.

Alex is a Great Young Man, I would be so proud if he were my son. I was also going to mention to you what a good sport he is , joining in and participating with the Skype Jam . He is gonna take off and be playing lead with some friends in a Garage band before long smile

Thanks, Geo & Bob

I don't know exactly what the fills or lead are I just recorded the Rhythm and vocal in one take and the lead guitar was just improvised in one take.
It usually doesn't go that well and I don't begin to think I am a lead player but I guess it added to the mix.

Thanks again,

MKM,

The GS Mini Taylor is a nice guitar , but it will not hold up against Your New Martin. The very short scale and narrow nut are drawbacks to it also.
I leave my GS mini at the Job and it serves the purpose well but it can't hold up to a good full size guitar. Just my opinion smile

Jerome,

No I just played Rhythm and Vocal at the same time and added some Lead Licks plugged into the multitrack. I just haven't had time to play with it yet but I think it will be a good unit. It comes with Cubase software and I haven't downloaded it yet. The recorder can be used as a portable with batteries or if you don't have mics it has 2 built in. I just used it as a stand alone and tried to get the levels set when I mastered it. No effects were added.

Here's a recording done recently with the new Zoom R16 multitrack recorder, I used a J-45 for Rhythm and Lead and a Sennheiser Dynamic Vocal Mic and the Guitar was plugged straight in to the recorder. This is the first recording I have done with it and have a lot to learn about it.

My sister in law wanted me to play this song for her sometime in the future so I thought I would do a slide show for Her and Her Man.

Sorry Zurf ,

I will stand in the corner until I am forgiven smile

Thanks Tops,

It was nice to interact and play with some Chordie folks,

I am lookin forward to it too, I wish there wasn't a delay, I would love to kick the Jam off with "Will the Circle be Unbroken" it is kind of a tradition in these parts and seems to be a real feel good song , that just about everyone knows and can play and singalong too. I may have to try a Johnny Cash song too smile

I am gonna try and make it thursday, and saturday. Tops and I tried it out last night and he not only talks the talk he was tearin it up ...........

Sounds like your computer is not liking Videos and probably won't like editing them either. Videos put a load on a lot of computers, seems they require a good processor and a lot of space.

Heya Joe,

I have a Zoom Q3 it is not the HD model like yours but , I think they are very similar other than the video quality. I suspect maybe this could be something with your pc. Try and shoot a video and plug in a set of head phones to the Q3HD and playback to see if it records with video and audio in sync. I have never had the problem you're having but have had some issues once uploaded to my computer and my computer had issues and has since been replaced.

These units are usually very user friendly and sounds like you may have a faulty unit.

Great Idea Jerome,

I have had the pleasure of playing at bluegrass jams and some of the jams I have played in have been so good.

I can't wait to hear them smile

In a nutshell an acoustic amp

Think of acoustic amps as small PA systems. They are designed to amplify a clean signal, and not change the tone of the instrument. Acoustic amps are solid state circuitry, to help minimize distortion.

Sure alot of acoustic amps have effects but , they are in fact a small PA.

Flash,
Acoustic amps and Electrics are designed quite differently. The Acoustic amp is designed for as clean a signal as possible and you won't get that plugged in to an electric amp. Plugging and acoustic into an electric amp sometimes sounds ok but it won't sound like an acoustic. Electric guitars are very dependent on the amp for distortion and effects.

Pete ,

If you have recording software, you can just record with no effects , the way you are currently recording and then add effects as you like. Most of the ones I have used have a variety of reverb options and simulate different room sizes and configurations. They also have lots of other effects you may like.

Pete,

Many of the recording programs have effects, such as audacity and others such as cubase or studio one artist and others that are packaged with recording interfaces. Audacity is free but the reverb , and effects were a little tougher to use than some of the others.
I have also miked my amp and recorded the effects from the amp reverb and chorus  settings.
Some of the interfaces are pretty cheap and include some great software with lots of effects. The Audiobox Presonus , I use alot is about $ 149.00 and the software that comes with goes for about that amount. I am sure some others can help out with some options too.
