1. Relearn A minor without using your index finger. Then the barre position will be a lot easier.
2. 99% of the time you can play a Bm7. Easier to fret and sounds coool.

Sounds very Doobie Brothers.
I'm trying to do a solo acoustic version of Cissy Strut that is killing me.
Where you wake up, find an old notebook, and realize that you lost track of 1/2 dozen songs you wrote and really really liked?
I love love love love love Tal.
Spike, your definition of tied was not correct....Russell's is. You're referring to 8th, 16th, or 32nd notes in succession where they are barred across the top or bottom of the stem, ie the example here:

The answer to your question is that it depends upon phrasing. If I'm playing triplets I'll play duddudduddud. If I'm playing metal (which FYI has not happened since 1992) I will play all down strokes. If I'm playing reggae I will play all up strokes. You should become familiar with alternate picking, one direction picking (up and down) and also google hybrid picking to really blow your mind.
That's how I write too. Nothing for months or years then a torrent.
You're recharging your creative batteries by spending time with a muse. It's to the benefit of your playing bro.
can you post a pic of what you're workign with here?
After much looking and deliberation, my band has secured a drummer. It was a rough go and took about 6 weeks of looking, but last night we found two strong candidates and liked them both. I believe it to be noteworthy that the musician we have selected is a female - that's right! The reclusive "she drummer" has come out of hiding and is going to be jamming with the likes of yours truly. This girl is really good. Super tight, great attack, very aggressive player.
Videos forthcoming.
I just post them in to evernote. Then they are available on any device...even if I'm out at a friend's house I can just log on to EN from the web and BOOM there's my songbook.
I've never been a fan of elixirs. I would get the guitar set up.
Any Janis Joplin should be pretty easy.
I have never liked elixirs because I'm also a big string bender. I find that once the coating starts to wear off the string vibration is thrown and intonation goes all to hell. Just my two cents.
That sounds like it may be more related to bending or vibrato...do you do a lot of either of those?
SRV 12? Come on. Joe Bonamassa? Derek Trucks?
can ya give me a zip code to search a radius around? I have some Marriot hookups.
I really enjoyed the Ruskin jam...would be up for another.
Hey El Jefe...any hotels or resorts close to the water and close by you? I'm sure my newlywed friends and their kinfolk would like to hear some yammin'.
My pessimism seems to have worked. A tribute:

Ahhhhh. How far are ya from Ft Worth? Too far?
Cutler is out. Which is fine by me.
Speaking as a passionate Bears fan...
Tonight is going to be a blood bath. I'm going to start preparing for baseball season. RIP 2013 Bears.
I just throw a b5 in the dorian and call it pentadorian. Which of course makes no sense since pentatonic means 5 notes. But it works for me. So there.
Plus for my money there's nothing cooler than a resolution to the 9 once you hit the V7 chord. Not possible when playing straight minor pento.
