Hi Pete
I left comments on SoundCloud, but I wanted to say thanks for taking a shot at the "Robot". I called it an avante garde blues tune and as you said, definitely theatrical.
Thanks once again and hugs to Maree

I agree with The Gray One, Phill does sound like Ian, doesn't he? When I first wrote the tune, I did it mainly just to challenge myself to actually just sit down and complete a song - not just leave it stored on my machine to be forgotten about.
What our friends Jim and Phill have done is inspire me to keep it up and I thank them both for that VERY much.
Comments left on YouTube!
Thanks again
Bill
I forgot to add Doug's son, Devan (great Irish name, that ) for also helping to explain some of the terminology I was not keen on. It's evident that the old saying is true for this great family: The apple surely does not fall far from the tree. Thanks to both of you.
Bill (and Dondra adds a thanks of her own for stopping the pacing and muttering under my breath! )
I am sorry for all the caps up there, but after I explain, I'm sure you will all agree it's warranted.
A couple of nights ago I got hold of something which caused my W7 OS not to launch. I did everything I knew to do: googled, tried to reinstall, tried to boot through SAFE mode ------ NOTHING worked!
Out of desperation I called our friend Doug who was kind enough to walk me through all kinds of fixes just as he helped me last week with my old home theater system (still need to pick up that coax cable next week! ) and tonight Doug got my old (10 years old) machine running again and I can't thank him enough for his kindness and patience with me.
I was ready to tear my hair out because I couldn't check mail, check in here and play Warcraft!
This is exactly why all of you are considered my family. You're always there with that supporting hand, whether it be comfort, musical assistance and/or what Doug did for me tonight.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend.
I am so very fortunate there are folks like you here and I will never forget it.

Confession Time TF": With the exception of "Free Will' and "Tom Sawyer", I am very much a "virgin' when it comes to Rush.
Yes it's true - we do exist, and it wasn't until I just now sat through your latest presentation, I realized I never really knew them at all or what fine musicians they all are.
Oh, yeah. Being a drummer I admit following the career of Neil Peart, sure, but as a whole, no, Messrs. Lee, Lifeson and Peart : "I never knew ye."
"What am I to do with you, Bill?", I can imagine you asking.
Might I suggest you bring me off my "Shipwreck Island" and introduce me to the band with a primer of sorts?
In return, I promise to come to you naked as a babe in the woods and with a completely open mind.
Thanks

Our friend Phill is one of the most multi-faceted and ubiquitous people I know, and that's just through knowing him on Chordie. Heaven knows what he's like in real life.
THIS guy, maybe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c54SvkgQ04A.
Taking a listen to him on SoundCloud, I continue to be amazed at what he's able to do in his studio with his voice and instrumentation. Pair him with Jim (TIGLJK) and you've got either:
1. A very talented musician working in tandem with a very fine video producer; or....
2. A "Triple Whammy" consisting of a great lyricist/video producer/musician (mix and match -- your choice);
Either way, it'd be great to be able to get into a time machine and take you two back to the 80's and the early days of videos and see what happens.
Thank you Phill from the both of us for this great gift of music! It's a real honor knowing you!

Dear Friends
As you may have noticed of late, I have been rather lax in my plans of featuring a special string-based selection to "greet" you on Mondays and send you on your way with - hopefully - a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
It is for this reason I would like to relinquish the "reins" as it were to someone who can do the programs justice and who has the time required to do the research (and there is a little to be done) and to post the tune/tunes in question.
Because my free time is at best scarce and at worst none at all, I feel that this is the best decision for all of us.
Musically and Admiringly Yours,
Bill
Well, long story short? I was BORN in Germany (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and I've kep my German language skills sharp. I wish you the best in your career, Kim and do let us know how you're getting along? We're all FREUNDE here and musicians know no age barriers.
Did you like Chris Norman?
Here's what you missed having been born a bit later than some/most of us. Enjoy:

Jan!!!!!!!
What??? You didn't think I'd miss you??? My "I'll Just Stop Asking" performer?????
I have these little post-it notes (once upon a time just on my screen border), now on the wall of this "Hell-Hole" I call my "Inner Sanctum". So you are always here!
Please don't be a stranger, okay?
And take a look at Kim Noble while you're at it. I think we have a young STAR on our hands!

"Heilige Dankgesang" ----- I never fail to guffaw when I hear that name. Listening as I write and grateful that you "tune in" to my choices - such as they are, my friend!
"It's development time down there, Bob!"
Bill
For Kim, who just "stumbled in" here.
My God, young lady! What a beautiful voice!!!
I'm a fan and I'm sure the rest of the family will be as well! Stay with us and teach us something, meine Kleine!

Does the original still show until you replace it right away? I am asking because I don't always know right away that a word is missing or if I have posted something inappropriate, so I may not see it until much later.
Does that make sense? My short term memory loss is such now that I miss a lot of words and have to go back and insert them.
Thanks
Bill
Jim On the way asap. I just noticed: Both mine and Phill's names sound the same. Must be because my friend in the Land of Song is my ............. EVIL TWIN!!!!!. Bwahahahahahahaha!
Excuse me. Went a little off the rails there, as it were.

Revisiting this thread::::::::: Since I posted I have now developed arthritis in the joint of my left (chording) hand's middle finger and it looks like I'm going to have to figure something else out. Slide, maybe? But watching The Gray One play "Little Red Rooster" on Saturday, I notice there may be a bit of finger-picking going on and therein lies my problem: That's going to take a lot of time for me to master.
Always something.
Bill
^^^^^^^ What keepitreal said^^^^^^^
Sorry to say I haven't played any of my guitars in a long while, so now I have to get callouses again.
Speaking of which, I was told if you soak your fingers in an alum/water mixture it will toughen the ends. My British friends may want to consult your....... I believe you call them "Chemists" over there, right?
Bill
Z, it should be under the section called "Song Requests" with the title, "Well, Dondra Wants To Request......". You'll need to scroll down, as it is one of my last posts.
Thanks
Bill
Overheard MilitaryTelevision Advisory: "Eye contact with Dear Leader is, for the forseeable future, ill advised. That is all".
Since I've lost out on several Mondays, please allow me to "cheat" a little and present you with one of mine (and I believe TF Funster's) favorite works: P.D.Q. Bach's (Prof. Peter Schickele's) "New Horizons In Music Appreciation", which is a comical and "left-handed" way of teaching you the mechanics of the so-called "Classical Music". Our friends Russell Harding and/or jerome.oneil may also get a kick out of this as I hope the rest of you will: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0vHpeUO5mw
Enjoy
Bill
Mo', my friend, you'd get wore out just bendin' that elbow for that next cold one!
It's good to "see" ya, man!
Bill
One more, if I may. "The Blind Boys of Alabama" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blind_Boys_of_Alabama) are a gospel group and just "over on de side" considered "BLUES", but according to where this "Blue-Eyed" soul man (me) got his education, gospel was where blues' roots began. I really hope this is okay, but I have loved The Blind Boys of Alabama for many many years. Thanks, and please stay with the link for a little bit of talkin' at the beginning: https://youtu.be/HOiquKuoDac
Thanks for letting me add these two songs, Mr. Badeye and I think we're both coming from the same neighborhood.
Bill
....... so somebody else write some stuff 'cause I'm done wore slap out.
Enjoy your weekend!
Your friend
Bill
Great story, Kim and welcome to the family! It's not often we get a chance like the one you've described, so here's wishing you many, many more such opportunities which you can share with us here.
All the best und SERVUS! to all your Aachen friends!
Bill (aus Rothenburg ob der Tauber)
Maybe fate was kind and he didn't remember that, but if he hit some cymbals, he may have wondered where he got the scrapes.
Good one, Graham
