the way John says to cheat on Bm is the way I play it. Just like F# but move fingers down.

as for F#m I just play the three bottom strings on the 2nd fret and Dont play the top three.

I cheat a lot, it might not sound perfect but I do it for fun, not getting paid so I will not stress myself out trying to master any chord that hassles me.

Ken

well.....R&B ?????
what exactly is this ?

I used to have a " THE WHO" poster and it said MARQUEE maximum R&B. Meaning the who were R&B, as in Rythum and blues. I watched a documntary on the who not so long ago called " the amazing journey" and what an amazing story it was. I am sure on there they said something about being R&B .
Now these days I am told that R&B is totally different. I tihnk there might have been a thread on this last year sometime if my bad memory serves me well.

so when you say R&B, what sort of music is it? what sort of bands would be classed as R&B?
If you say "The WHO" then I am going to say R&B is magnificent, if it is modern day tripe that singers spew out then I detest it all.

good to see yer still about james.
I did miss your presence here.

I have listedn to your song and enjoyed it. I tried to comment then noticed I had to be a friend, so i requested, as i did with friends of chordie, I am finally getting round to doing things in myspace now.
Took me a while to work out how to add a friend, lol. I am not that good with myspace yet but i will learn through time.

anyway, good stuff as is your other songs you have on there.

Ken

it works ok with me.

a good way of advertising though Russell is do a song or two or parts of them on youtube,
and since it is your own youtube site, you can advertise your own cd. On youtube you manage your own spammers, so it is not as if the owners of youtube will ban your spam from your own space on it.

How many songs are on the radio, and this is real frustrating, you haven't a clue about who the writer or performer is.
Since a lot of radiostations play only music, and the commercials every 10 minutes, a lot of them don't announce the artist, or they tell the list of artists before or after.
There is one thing that makes me really nervous, hearing a very familiar tune and NOT KNOWING THE PERFORMER(S)
- Do you have the same problem?
- Are there still "writers put together" writing as an entity?

Lieven,
I know that virgin radio and Rock radio 96 in scotland has a playlist on their website.
So if you hear a song and you never caught on to who the band was the nye can look up the website. I think with virgin radio you can even type in the time you heard the song and it will tell you who it was. I have done this a few times.

ken

cheers Russell,
I might email you later next month.

And I would have taken all songs off websites too.

Jerome, surely there would be more to it than just writing it down?
Would you not have to prove who wrote it down first?
If I heard a song in a pub ( if I was in USA) and I thought this band is going to make it very big, and I wrote down the words......then a year later they have a hit with the song I predicted.
Does this mean I could say " look, i wrote this down years ago" they have stolen this from me"

How would they prove they wrote it first?

KEN

I couldnt be bothered to open another thread so I will ask here ( since Russell's name is mentioned in the topic)

What song have you got on your cd?
are they your own songs or covers?

I am finding myself more interested with the cd.

I will wait to see others replies after they buy it thogh before I decide to actually buy a music legally lol

ghosts???? well I am undecided. Sometimes I think I might have seen, but then the mind is a very strange unexplained thing sometimes.
in 1988 my grandad died, on the day of his funeral or cremation or the disposal of the body, whatever you want to call it, we had his wee dog in the bedroom upstairs with the door closed over. All other doors in the house were closed! the living room door and the kitchen door.
When we got back to the house the dog was running around the house. All doors were opened.
The dog was a pomeranian so it could not jump up and turn a handle of a bedroom door, and if it could it would not have been able to open the door inwards. Nor could it have opened the kitchen door ever! The living room door it could probably have ran into and forced it open but it had never done that in its life.
We thought maybe someone did leave the door open upstairs but I know it was closed.
My gran sometimes had the dog in the bedroom when there was no one in. My grandad didnt like this and kept on leaving the door open for the dog to get out. Did he do the same after he died? who knows?
Also within a week of him dying I had a dream, or was it? He was at the bottom of my bed with the dog by his side. When I woke up in the morning the dog was in my bedroom. This dog never used to come into my room, in fact it never used to come near me.
I remembered the dream and thought how real it felt, but then maybe I was thinking it felt more real than it did because the dog was in the room.
Whatever caused these events, it was strange, weird and odd.
I still remember it clearly, I have never had any other strange events like this in my life, just that once

Ken

I love the B7 chord but only in the right place.
I will try using this instead of using that lovely B chord.

I am not convinced but I am willing to be convinced

I am totally lost to what this thread is all about

but i am inspired by my mobile phone wakening me up in the morning so I can go to work to earn money so I can afford my mortgage and feed my family and buy a new guitar sometime, not that I need another, I just want!

Ken

Hi pnoman

welcome to chordie, glad you like it, ,,errmmm sort of lol

The reason you see wrong lyrics or chords is not the fault of chordie.
People do not post directly onto chordie, the songs are added here from other sites, so it is the other sites you will have to complain to about wrong lyrics so when someone does add them to chordie the lyrics will be correct.

Proper chord symbols? are the guitar chords not good enough? They seem to be ok for 165,000 people so far, but this is not to say your request is not a valid one.

If you make up your own songbook through chordie you can change as much as you like on the songs, i.e lyrics, chords just click "edit" and away you go, you can edit away.

Also if a song is not in your songbook but you wish to put corrections, there is a part at the bottom of the song to do this.
BUT, bad thing about that is if someone disagrees the ycan go and change it. If everything starts looking completely wrong there is the option to see the original that was taken from the host website and revert it back.

my first concert was big country in glasgow barrowlands. the venue where every band wants to play in Scotland for its superb atmosphere.

Perhaps one of my best concerts was living colour in barrowlands,
but also John Prine in the Royal Glasgow Concert hall last year. For listneing to a guitar getting played clearly, every note, this was the best palce to hear it.

i dont think it is all dublin slang.
Lots of the words she mentioned do not even come from ireland. But I did stick up for her. She didnt claim they were from dublin but they are used in dublin.

I liked it anyway. a nice unrehearsed natural video of a burd explaining to people what her dublin folk mean when they say things that might not get used elsewhere in the world.

right, im aff tae my scratcher now    ( off to bed now)

Ken

superb stuff,
thanks for this link.
I went on to watching more of the tune he plays. makes a few mistakes on the mission impossible tune but hey, who cares?
more than words.......splendid.
I would think he has a future playing guitar if he has not already got one just now

hiwormproof

I had the same problem with my newuke last year. I was retuning it constantly for a while.
I think after about two weeks the strings settled. I still have the same strings on it and if it does not get bashed about by my wife or kids it stays in tune quite good even when sitting for a week.

I am not sure but I think maybe it would be better to slightly over tune all strings and leave it for a day and then try retuning it again and see how that goes.
