Aren't they great? Far be it from me to use the names "Lennon/McCartney" when referring to our two friends here, but I am getting closer to it every day. smile

Oh, I think he already has that trait, Jan. smile

Some of us just don't show it as readily.

I tried my BEST to get this comment to post on SoundCloud, but it just will not, so I will post it here.  Thanks for that beautiful song you two!

Bill

Another beautiful masterpiece by 2 of my favorite musicians! I have a very close friend who wouldn't have minded the company of some of your angels in his room a few weeks ago. The Lady Dondra concurs and loves this one as well. smile

The chorus, maybe?

I'll work on it.

Thanks very much, my friend!

Pleasure, my friends. smile That "Video Tape" song - as far as I know - never got released on a cd, but I've always loved it. As you know, "Some of Shelly's Blues" is an original Mike Nesmith (Monkees) tune. Beautiful songs, both of them and I'm ready for that 50 year compilation if you are, Joe. smile

keepit: That shop owner come from the planet Mars????? smile smile

Build up those callouses, paco and  aman03. Work on the B's and the B7 and "Bob's Yer Uncle". (I have no idea what that means - something like "and it's done") and from there on out, it's a breeze! smile Welcome to both of you! We're all here to help! smile

Thank you, my friend.

I went this afternoon to take some phone pics and she was gone. Some lucky musician snapped her up before I could get my dollars down, so I hope he needed that fine looking lady more than me and that they will make beautiful music together. smile

Thanks

deadstring, that phrase above caught me "just right" and it sounds like it should be a song.  smile

Note: The ellipsis after deadstring's age is my own and I used the device so as to better emphasize it sounding like a song title.

I agree with you, by the way, Sir. smile

You know, it's strange how sometimes "movie" songs can get "past" you until you hear another interpretation of them. So it was with your cover, Russell. Maybe it's just the gritty and intensive singing and playing, but you had my attention all the way through. A great performance, Sir. Comments left.

Thanks

What? If you didn't have music (or your words) ...... what?

YOU fill in  the blank, dear friends.

Lately, when I put pen to paper (cursor to screen?), I think about how fortunate I am to be a poet and a writer and that "The Spirit In The Sky" allows me to see not just the leaves, but between the leaves.

And you all play no small part in this boy's resurgence of writing. I'll always be grateful for that to all of you.

Okay, okay, OKAY!...... you don't have to hit me over the head with the fact that the last NG Dirt Band tune was a bit scratchy, so how about this one? Especially for those of you who like Spider John McEuen's style of banjo......  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVUHWFY0w1Y
I heard this one in the grocery store today.......

Been looking for this one for YEARS, boys and girls and I wanted to share it with anyone who loves the music of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Oh, I know there are literally hundreds of their tunes I could have chosen, but I just happened to like this one! smile

maurguy,

If you're 67 too, you probably remember this quote: "There's no gravity. The world sucks!"  smile

All the best, welcome to the family and (as I tell all our new family members) teach us somethin'!

One of my nicknames for Dondra is "Little Miss Ma'am"

It always makes her smile when I use it and I alternate it (in mock frustration) with the phrase "Well, all right then,  "Little Miss Ippity- Pippity!" This also makes her smile.

Okay so right now this is a poem, but I would like this to turn into a silly song in the key of G, going to D and then D7.

The chorus? Don't know yet. After I got through writing, I got a real case of "LOW SELF-STEAM"  (get it? smile smile wink ) and I just haven't been able to continue it yet.

=======

My Little Miss Ma'am

My little Miss Ma'am (A)
That's what you am     (A)
And everyone who knows us  (B)
They understand   (A)
Why I love you so  (C)
Why I'll never go     (C)
Your wish is my command (A)

From she who must be obeyed (A)
I'll never stray (A)
And right by you, that's my place (C)
My precious girl with the pretty face (C)
My love for you will never fade (A)

Chorus:

My Little Miss Ma'am (A)
That's what you am  (A)
And everyone who knows us (B)
Will understand (A)

Just a silly tune (A)
By a silly goon  (A)
And everyone who knows me (B)
Knows I'm just an old baboon (A)

===========================

I went ahead and marked the meter in case this needs to be corrected.

Thanks for any help!

Checking YouTube there's songs by that name from numerous artists, but this is the one this 67 year old hippie knows.

Good luck and welcome to Chordie, maurguy

"The Sisters" ---- Anita, Helene and Johanna. My mother and my two aunts respectively.

I have no idea why I decided to name them - maybe just to keep them in remembrance as they have all passed.

Maybe I will find a picture of them in their stands, but the only one not sold is "Anita"  (or the Les Paul Epi).
