Any of you in Salt Lake City? I am here for a week sans guitar and need a fix. smile

They sound anywhere between a loud electric and a thin acoustic, depending upon the box you choose. I have a Gibson ES335 and a Guild Starfire IV. I love them both. I would not consider them a substitute for an AE. I practice unplugged on them though.

Are you thinking a full hollow body like a Gretch or a semi-hollow body like the guitars I have referenced above?

You don't need a capo trasposition chart for that as long as you want to play the same chord shapes. You just need to know the number of steps between keys. Going between C and D, for example, is two half steps, so you put your capo on the 2nd fret (two half steps up) and play the C chord shape.

What are you doing with it? Using it to transpose the song or play the song in the same key as written but with different chord shapes?

I would use a vice grip and bend the current one. Just me though. smile

Heck yes. I'm on a plane right now but I'll log on once I get home and do some playin'.

The artist currently has the right to refuse licensing, so he or his publisher are no doubt aware.

That might all change though:

He's fingerpicking right? Like this version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUkIkRmUr0Y

I don't think barre chords are the way to go here. You can probably skip the barre chords and just play some open voicings. Might be easier and nifty from the voice leading standpoint:
Gmaj7

+1 TF. Comfortably Numb (Pulse Live) contains the best guitar work in the history of music, IMO.

I'm putting together a set list of all 80s songs, played reggae style. Here is Cutting Crew's I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight. Pretty fun song to play, this one is:

My little bro got mad at me when he was like 12 and put a nice hole in the side of my acoustic. Ugly but still playable. I put a Bulls bumper sticker on it and it's still there 22 years later. Never had to deal with a headstock. I feel for you.
