Excellent
Anymore suggestions for December Christmas songs?
I will probably dig out a New Zealand Christmas song and suggest it (not sure which one yet) and the Song ~Mary did you know~
Thanks Peatle, awesome for that feedback and I enjoyed playing this one
Thanks also Jim for your kind comments, it`s a fun song to sing
That is an amazing story, wow mojo and ditto to what Tig said, must be a song in that family history Thanks Peatle for finding the info
Thanks neophytte for having a listen And in regards to your cover on this song, covers are how you want to make them so there is no right or wrong
Here is another very quick attempt as one of this months FSOTM ~Folsom Prision~. Bit of lag with me blowing the whistle lol as I was trying to perform this on my own (hard to get to the whistle on time). Think my banjo ukulele could do with some new strings too!

easybeat, I haven`t forgotten your challenge song to me, will get onto it, I will have to sit and learn that one though as I don`t know it that well
easybeat, reckon as you did your first challenge so quickly it is time for another challenge for you too..... so I challenge you to ~Gloria~
Comments on sound cloud beamer, awesome you get to have fun jamming with your son
Thanks Peatle for having a listen
Thanks neophytte
Ok, here is a very quick attempt I did this afternoon of ~ Elvira~ . I tend to get a bit too fast in parts (but then I have a bad tendancy to do that at the best of times).

Love it mojo ..... and the talking bits in it really add to it
Zurf .... I enjoyed your cover, it`s a song I know well, one we perform at Resthomes or Retirement villages. I enjoyed your guitar work in this one too
Ok ... just got done listening to all of your covers neophytte ............. and I have to say, well done for attempting so many of the songs this month! I think you are the first one to have a go at so many, so wow and well done to you!
Smoke on the Water ... great guitar work in there.
Stepping Stone .......some very clever guitar work particularly toward the end of it!
Sylvia`s Mother ... very recognisable, well done
and finally Leaving on a Jet Plane . You have done really well to cover all these songs, impressive to say the least.

any chance of a video????
+3
Wow great to see all these covers going up
So far since I was last on here and commented, I have listened to 3 of your songs neophytte ........and will continue to listen to the rest this evening when I get a little bit more time.
So neophytte, so far I have listened to Elivira, Folsom Prison and Proud Mary. Good covers and well played. You play the guitar well and the use of the fret board on some of the songs very well Elivira was a bit different to how iIusually have heard this song but the beauty of doing covers here is that we can make them to sound however we want, so good for you. Folsom Prison version also a little bit different too but both of these songs you made them your own. Have to agree with what zurf said about the vocals, they could do with being louder or the mic up closer so as not to be out done by the guitar playing.
Proud Mary was the best one I thought because you seemed more confident and it seems like you know it well, so your vocals and guitar style on this cover were good, very enjoyable on this one
A big Hello and Welcome cl1957 ....... great to meet you and have you join us here on Chordie ...........great to have another lady on here too
I love her voice, music, her whole style! Awesome talented lady.
Awesome, like the whole package, lyrics, guitar and vocals still fine
A+ from me Peatle, well written and definately paints a picture with words. Liking your poetry very much
I liked it easbybeat ..... great guitar once again and I like the take off of the name Have to agree with the others though, I couldn't hear your vocals very well.
