Righto. Dm7/G is a pretty rad chord, which is why I asked. smile

Is that a C/Am and D7/G7 stacked or are those just 2 counts instead of 4 counts?

I'm a huge fan of these old Guild imports called Madeiras. They made a model called the A32-SB for a few years in the early 60's. I got my first when I was six, my second last year (which I turned in to an electric acoustic), and today I've acquired my third. This bad boy is a gift for a friend though.

So excited. Best $150 guitar I've ever bought. smile

I would think you can just show them this webpage and not worry about the key its in. You have a transcription right here ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I have some that are brands and some that are no-name guitars. My main acoustic is an early 60's guild import that failed after just a few years of production. My family gave it to me for Christmas when I was 6 and they couldn't have spent more than $200 on the thing. But it's been with me for 29 years and I love it so much I just found a clone (and bought it WOO HA!) on ebay.

That said I also have an American Telecaster and an ES335. wink

Typo in your a minor pentatonic chart. Your d string A is a fret low. smile

It sounds like you ran it in to an electric guitar amp on clean? That's going to make your tone sound like an electric guitar amp on clean, as earlier posters have said. smile

I would get a pickup and preamp with a powered wedge or small PA system rather than an acoustic amp. I run vox and 1 guitar in to this and it sounds just dandy with an aftermarket on-board preamp and pickup...I believe it is an LR Baggs.  http://www.zzounds.com/item--ROLKC60

I think the pickup is one of these fellas: http://www.lrbaggs.com/pickups/element- … tar-pickup

Temperature also appears to be a factor when tuning. Tuning cold strings can sometimes lead to slight variations of pitch when they warm up, so i always give my strings a workout before tuning.

I learned the hard way that when you're playing under lights you need to put that guitar onstage for a bit so it heats up.

Depends upon the group. Some conductors prefer alternate tunings. Sometimes a composer will specify an alternate tuning. Sometimes the orchestra has to tune to a fixed pitch instrument like a pipe organ. From what I understand orchestras in Europe tend to tune slightly sharp...I think its to brighten the timbre of the instruments but I'm not quite sure.

I tune to a=415 because I like the dark sound, reduced string tension, and superior bendability of an instrument in Ab.

Who says people are tuning to a445 nowadays? I haven't heard of that.

You can do a ton with pentatonics by only changing one note here or there. smile

Stretching, ab work, low back work, and actually you might also get some help by working on those legs. Squats, lunges, etc.

Yoga.

Also find out if there is a Feldenkreis or Alexander Technique practitioner close to you.

We have a 12 month season here in Vegas but I'm excited about the tuna moving up. By May or so I'll be on a boat 25 miles off of SD for some tuna shuffle. If you've never done the tuna shuffle, I highly recommend it.
