Whoops! Sorry, my friend - I missed the link. On the way there now.
Bill
It's Fleetwood Mac from the Peter Green days. I had hoped to find it for you live, but couldn't find a version which had the quality I was looking for.
The first time I heard it (back in the mid-70's) I instinctively knew it needed to be played loudly. Not just because I'm a drummer, but because if you don't, you'll miss some of the nuances of the recording process. For example, in the "Spanish Guitar" segment, one can hear the "compression" (I think that is the term one uses) building and come to the foreground.
Another example of "compression" is at the end of The Beatles' "A Day In The Life".
At the VERY end, after that "heavy" piano chord which ends the album, if one turns up the volume, one can hear the studio air conditioners running.
I also like the "finger swishes" (for want of a better term) one can hear during the recording of a solo classical guitar. I don't know, it just "personalizes" the whole performance for me somehow.
Enjoy, Pete and let's hear some more of that "J'ville Sound".

Well done Doug for guiding Bill and Lady Dondra's canoe back to Chordie Land.
Bill it is an honour to have you here with your interesting insights.
You are never boring and a inspiration along with Dondra.
Love to you both.

Man! I think you on that phone/guitar and me on drums could really do your tune JUSTICE my friend. I wish you continued success with your compositions!

....... And we owe a LOT to the late Mr. Donegan (don't we, Messrs. Lennon and McCartney?). Happy Skiffle when we needed it the most: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6bFTVi0hHs

Hi, Pete and Maree and EVERYONE!
Thanks for the kind words and I say again: for folks who will probably never meet in real life, I think all of us here have come as close as we possibly can to being family. Just my opinion, but it's what music does for folks like us.
Love y'all!
Bill and Dondra
I really like that repertoire, Kevin and God bless your entertainment!

Sorry if this sounds a bit sophomoric - akin to an "What I Did Last Summer" essay - but sometimes that's how I like to express myself and besides, if you substitute "Summer" with "The Last Ten Days", you'd be spot on, my friend!
It was during this period of time that my 8 year old computer finally gave its "last gasp" and died - even though I did not know it at the time.
Because my closest friends and family reside here on CHORDIE, I phoned one of them in the hopes that the both of us could come up with "something" that would buy me a little more time before I would have had to lay out some serious bucks for a new machine.
Before I reveal the name, let me just explain that from day one to day ten we spent many, many minutes on the phones together - sometimes two and three times a day and sometimes, I was certain, we'd both rather be doing something else. If this was the case, however, my friend never let on. We kept trying this, that and the other in the confidence that this next "thing" we'd do, would get my computer back working again, but sadly it was not to be, and I will explain that in a moment as well.
As I believe I have explained here many times before, I am very cognizant of not taking advantage of anyone, even to the point of not speaking up when I know darn well I should - just to keep from sitting around miserable and it is this "trait" (I believe) that makes my friend wanna kick my butt sometimes.
So if I'm thanking you or whoever else is reading this post, you may rest assured, it is done with the most humble of hearts and remembrance.
I am speaking of our friend Doug, of course; one of the most selfless of persons I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Both Dondra and myself were just "floored" by his patience, kindness and perseverance throughout this "ordeal" of mine! I call it an "ordeal", because I spend so much time online, not only on CHORDIE with my family, but with gaming, guitar practice and every now and then even paying a bill or two on my bank's website.
Neither one of us knew it at the time, but my computer was "shot". I just didn't want to let it go ahead and die. The motherboard was just about gone and so was its chip. The guy at the shop said it would have needed three fans, a power supply, a new MOBO and even then, he couldn't have given me any kind of guarantee it wouldn't break down the day after I got it back.
Doug and I didn't know this at the time, however, and I believe that this is just the kinda guy he is: The poster of the frog in the crane's neck which reads, "Never, EVER GIVE UP!!!!!!" I am of the opinion that Doug wouldn't have and would have my back even today and so I am very grateful to have him as such a good friend.
Sorry for the length of the topic, but it needed to be "said".
Thank you, Doug.

.....I have been meaning to let my friend TF know how much I enjoy this new feature of his and so now I have that chance.
I would like to add the following as a "take-off" on his thread title and name it "Flying Hands" just as a one-off deal, if that's okay?
I can see our ladies laying down the lead guitar and uke on this old standard covered by Wild Rabbit. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did the first time I heard it a couple of says ago. Hang on to your Akubras, Blokes and Sheilas!

Sondra was driving when you called.. Please call her back at your convenience. Thank you bill lap
I am still alive. Be back soon. Write me. Love you guys. Bio
There are two threads on this subject and this is the one I decided to post on, since I didn't remember posting on the other one, my friend. Comments left for you on the Cloud, Phill (of course - it just takes me a little more time nowadays), but I'll tell you here, that song of yours had my attention all the way through and I would not change a thing. As far as I'm concerned, this is just one more example of your very fine musicianship, my friend. Thank you very much for being here on Chordie and sharing your work with us!

I left comments for you on the Tube, my friend, but just to let you know, you brought a smile to my face when I heard this one. Not only because I used to play it back in the 60's, but because you captured the "style".
Thanks!
Bill
I like it, Mo' very much and I'm about to go to SoundCloud to give it a listen. Your song reminds me of something the great George Carlin once said: " Don't worry about the planet! The planet will be just fine! It's the people who are.......". Well, you get the idea right? Gonna leave some comments on the Cloud for you, and I'm on the way.
Thanks for writing those great words!
Bill
EDITED TO ADD: Left comments on the Cloud for you, my friend!
I wish I had had someone like you to teach me guitar, Beamer. I too picked up a lot of bad habits (not practicing going from chord to chord is just one of many), both by trying to teach myself and what I was picking up "on the road" (rythm guitarist's bad habits became mine and so on - like a virus - I probably taught my grandson the same ones I "learned". I enjoyed reading your experience with your son and hope you will post more updates as y'all go along. Maybe I'll learn to play better as well.
Thanks for sharing!
Bill
Comments left on your Facebook and SoundCloud accounts, Amy, but allow me to write just a little more about this moving song of yours...
Firstly, I'm going to invoke Mr. Kristofferson's quote with just a little edit: "You've been reading my (and I think most everyone's) mail". It's part of being human to wonder (and hope) that once we pass, that whatever part of us "travels on", will meet our loved ones, recognize them and continue the love we have/had here on Earth. I hope I have encompassed your meaning and the emotion with which you sang to us all.
Secondly, I don't know the total amount of time it took you, but I thank your Muse for keeping you going on it, because the finished work - if all of us had to wait on it - would definitely have been worth it.
Third - and not to belabor the point - you have a beautiful voice which fits like a glove with this song. I have said many times about you and the others, it would not surprise me one bit to hear your work on the air.
And last but not least: The "goose bumps" hit me which means that you and your song are: RIGHTEOUS.
Thank you for expressing my (and maybe all of our) thoughts so wonderfully!

PS: Dondra read the above and, after hearing "The Better Place" along with me, agrees whole-heartedly.
We both thank you from our hearts for remembering Dondra with your Birthday Wishes and your incredible show of love and concern for us during what I call "The Year Of Our Nightmare".
I am not overstating how I/We feel about all of you as you "picked us up" time after time with your kindness and giving of yourselves and your talents.
Thanks from your friends always
Bill and Dondra
"........ for the telephone Birthday greeting she received a few hours ago.
You should have seen the smile on her face while she was speaking with you, my friend!
We both appreciate your thoughtfulness in thinking of her/us and it really made our day that you did this. We do have other international friends - mostly in Germany - but since you and I are friends through our music, today's call from you was even more special.
We wish we could say thank you in person, but hope you know that, whether in person or through this medium, they are just as sincere.
Always
Bill and Dondra Craig
