Kap, don't feel so old, you're just a spring chicken. I was 15 when this went down. Oh how I loved the Beatles.

Hello All, I know alot of players get frustrated not being able to play barre chords and playing up and down the neck, but playing with some walks and chord embellishments can help your sound.I think keeping one of your fingers anchored seems to help me.
I just posted a video how the chord progression of two songs can be similar and some walking fingers, please don't beat me up on playing Mr Bojangles in 4/4 time.Lots of mistakes in this but what the hey

I would go to the song on Chordie and to transpose to G ,you would go to transpose
-5 steps and it will transpose it for you. Another thing you can do if you like the original progression is to use a capo. Some songs I go a half step with my capo till I find one that fits my voice.
Hope this helps, Wayne P
Hello, I just installed a B-band A2 in one of my guitars and am very happy with it, it is kinda of a tricky one to install and they are a little more spendy than some. I paid about $200. They have an undersaddle pickup and an ast pickup, you can balance both pickups and volume control also.
I also have a LR Baggs I-Beam in one of my guitars and it is alot less money and more basic. It has a volume control and it's about a $90. pickup.
Neither require cutting any holes in your guitar for batteries, the batteries velcro on the inside, the only drilling is where you remove your strap pin and your input for your 1/4'' cable hooks up.
I am going to replace my I-Beam with a B-band A2 after I have used the new one awhile I like the mix you get and lots of volume and no acoustic quack of some pickups.Very authentic acoustic sound.

I play a song that I worked on for several years that has a B7 in it and tried several alternatives and the only ones that sounded right was the normal first postion or the barred version I was determined enuff and wanted that song so bad I kept at and it is a piece of cake now,it can be a tough one.

I believe you got the Pirates right, but I think theyre playing the Arizona Diamondbacks.

I've found most open mics to be a little stiff, they need to loosen up a little and have fun,I usually invite another guitar player and singer to join in and it becomes alot more like a jam.Just cant beat the fun of playing with others!

With 3 bathrooms in the house and lots of booze, you have to be prepaired!
Thanks Alvee,Kinda brings tears to my eyes cause my singer and my wife's brother may be splitting up, they live in Arizona and we are in Wyoming ,but for the last 7 yrs have spent most holiday's together and we would drink red wine and sing for hours.

A short clip of thanksgiving 2007 showed up on youtube. Myself on guitar,my singer sister inlaw Renee, and my dancing mother in law and grandson Trae.
Lots of noise in the background, we usually have more suppport but the new wii game in the living room was winning out.Another sister inlaw Shelly was filming and just come across it and posted on youtube.

His guitar playing has a lot of bluegrass roots to it. Lots of hammer ons and bass walks and uses them in a more folk and rock manner and I love his style and it has helped my playing alot. I wish I could play as well,as he does also.He is one of my hero's.

Hey Phil, reminds of about 30 years ago we had a local barber that didn,t like long hairs. I had hair down to my butt and we were talking a little and he asked me if I had to squat to p-ss yet, referring to my long hair may have made me limp wristed.
Thanks,Wayne P

Hey Zurf, The picks I was referring to are Pro Piks Finger tone. They are metal the alaska picks Royce refers to are plastic and fit under the nail,I guess I play to aggressively cause I can't keep the alaska picks on my fingers. It sucks when you lose them mid song.
Later Wayne P
Hey Zurf, You might want to try a set of flesh tones, they allow you to feel the strings with the pads of your fingertips. I use them some but I personally like the sound of flesh on strings better than metal. The fleshtone picks are a little more spendy than others but as far as fingerpicks go they are the best I've found. I think they are about $5. a piece.
I play with a thumbpick alot and no fingerpicks and I don't have long nails, but I do alot of chord enhancements and pinches and hammerons,I am lucky to have 4 different acoustic guitars and some shine better than others with a flat pick and some do way better than others fingerpicking with just flesh on strings..My wife just bought me a new one for christmas that is unbelievable with just flesh on strings.
Good Luck , Wayne P
No problem, glad I could help.I hadn't heard the song before, nice song.
