Had some thoughts this morning about people throughout the ages who  have been taken from their chosen places or homes, and  came up  with this poem about how  they  might have  felt on arrival in a strange place.

I feel so introverted
Things are locked in side
All my deep emotions
Have just found a place to hide
Once I could express my self
With eloquence and pride
My whole world just fell apart
This wave I got to ride

Taken from a distant shore
To some other land
Unknown faces all around
Words I dont understand
Situation dangerous
Not the life I planned
I feel so introverted
And I need a helping hand

I miss the warm wind blowing
I miss the deep blue sea
Familiar surroundings
The man I used to be
Perhaps one day I will return
And things will be the same
Till then I'm introverted
And live my life in pain

Mine  got  some  slight  damage  a  few  years back  when we  were renting a  house  in  the  uk the house   suffered a  burst pipe  when we  were away  for a few  days  and   my  Eko  got  wet causing a  split  in the  base near  the   strap  button .However  as it  hasn't  caused  any  problems  with the  way it  plays  or  sounds I've  not  had it  to  a  luthier  for   repair I  just  glued  it  my  self .It  is  my favourite  acoustic  although I do now  keep  it in a  safe  place .

This  always  goes down well live

Cool poem Brian. We  don't  see  much tinsel here but I must  say  that  over  the  past  few  years xmas  has  started  to  become bigger  business  in Crete , but  thankfully  we still don't  have  the blatant commerciality that  plagues  the rest of  Europe .

Theres  been a bit  of  talk  lately  about  recording  what  to  use  etc ,My  friend  Kev Jones  recently ordered  a  usb mic  cable  from amazon  sadly  it  didn't  work  on his  chosen program  MU lab  so  last  night  he  aske me  to  try it  on my laptop  which  has  audacity  installed .I  found  it  worked  fine  although  there  was  a  little  hiss which  I  had  to  filter out    but  certainly  at  about  six pounds  its  a cheap and  quick  option if  you  want  to  record  something Ill  do  a  proper  recording  soon and  post  the results  but    so  far  I've  found  it  good and  it  doesnt    pick  up  the  monitor  if  I  keep it  low  just  the  guitar  or  my  voice so  Ive  been able  to  record with out  headphones as  I  dont  like  to  wear  them .also  there  appears  to  be  no  latency when you  use  it.

I  managed  to  get  an acceptable  signal  through  one  of  the  mini  mixers now  I  need  to  try  a  proper  recording  and  see  how  it  goes .

I  got  the  same  problem joe  I'm using  audacity  and   I  dont  get  enough  signal  Ive  tried  a  pre  amp  and  it  just  about  gets  there  . my  instruction book  says  take  the  feed  for  the  interface   from the  mixer  but  as  my  mixer  is  a  huge  thing  I  really  dont  want  to  drag it  from my  store room to  the  house  , it  worked  well on my  old  computer  so  I'm at  a  bit  of  a  loss  have  a  couple  of  mini  mixers  but  I  dont  think   they  give  any signal boost    but  I'll  let  you know  if  it  works .Good  thing  is  though   I  can now  deselect  the  on board mic .

Good  info Doug  I  have  the  uca222 mini  interface  which  I  used  on my  old  computer with  no problems  but  since going to  windows  8  it  doesnt  recognise  the  audio input  and  the lap tops inbuilt  mic  remains  on  I  will  try it  with  the  drivers   Ive  just  down loaded .It  does  however  state  that  the  usb port   used in  the  install  becomes  dedicated  and will  block  any  other  audio  input  .
