Hello Steve,
You are welcome, I can still remember the days before all the internet sources and youtube.I was living in rural america, with no help around,if you need anymore tips let me know.
I normally capo that one so I can sing in a different key,but I wanted to keep the neck of my guitar uncluttered so you could see the whole neck.So the singing is bad,but what the heck.

Congrats, Russ

A guy needs a break once in a while.New toys are great i just ordered a new condensor mic today.I just don't know how the mailman is gonna sneak it by my wife.

Hello again,I will put that one up for you, I play a lot of Bob Dylan but I fingerpick most of his stuff but it's no problem I will get that one posted I will go through the chords and strum pattern before i go into the song,do you have a good grasp of your basic chords,if so we'll take it slow and go for it.

Do you play with a pic or without I will do it however you would like.

Hey Rallyman,
I come up with a job this week and didn't get time to put up the ones I have been planning but hopefully this week I will get time I have some ideas that you will probably like.
I am far from being a guitar instructor and not a very good player, but I would like to share what I can do,I am glad you liked it. Let me know what you would like and I will try to address it with a video.

Hello All, I will have some time this week and will put up a couple more strumming videos. I will put up a basic country and bluegrass strum pattern with an alternating bass line and some other basics.
When you get a few different strums down you will have a good idea on how to attack a song when you hear it,trust me it will come to you.
Then after the strumming we are gonna learn a basic picking pattern, that will follow an alternating bass line similar to the bluegrass strum only we will fingerpick.
I'm not a teacher or full of musical theory,I just remember that getting into the swing of the song isn't gonna happen if you don't know how to attack it.
So get your guitar and strum along!

Hello, I think the biggest thing is be prepared, if your just doing one or two or a few songs ,practice till you don't really have to think about them, then practice some more. I always do better on the songs I've been playing a long time.

Hey Benson, I am in wyoming with probably close to the same climate you are in.It is too dry here for martin or any solid wood guitars.I tried using guitar humidifiers for a while, but  they are kind of a hassle.I decided to humidify my house and now my guitars love it.When my guitars start getting dry the first indication is the g string buzzing.Instead of trying to adjust the truss rod they are asking for moisture.
It sure has taken the hassle out of it getting a room humidifier.Hope you find the dream guitar. I have a HD-28 that I like alot
there  are some nice taylors in your price range also.If you get a chance try a J-45 Gibson or Southern Jumbo one of them is my next purchase.

Hey Tops, I just thought it comes up so frequently and most the time we refer them to some other site. Why not try and make it easy and help them here.I am gonna do a simple alternating bass G C D progression without any walkdowns or hammerons, just a simple strum pattern so some of our newbies can play along with country or bluegrass.
I have been helping a friend that is locked into fingerpicking and is lost when it comes to strumming so I am going back to basics and you forget sometimes what its like,so I'm trying to help out.

Thank You,For the numerical explanation

Hello all, I did this video, mostly cause I think alot of players have trouble with strumming and I think "For What It's Worth" is a good song to really feel the pattern. I hope this helps some of the folks that are having trouble or looking for a different pattern.

Hello Chordians,
Southpaw 41L and I were having a discussion not long ago about playing with others and we kind of had a difference of opinion.
He prefers playing alone , mostly because of the hassle of band issues and I can see his point. What I was referring to by playing with others was the times that happen unrehearsed ,just getting together and having things click. Here's kind of what I was talking about.
Carl, bless his soul was one of my fathers favorites!

Hey Russ,  I can tell when I go out of tune but I sure can't tune back up while playing or change tunings I'm just glad I can plug away with a few simple songs.Although maybe if some one was carrying the beat it would be easier otherwise I would be a fumbling fool.

Hey Russ,Good Job, I'm gonna head over to the site and play along later. I wish I had the lyrics so I could put it all together,I guess I'll have to listen to it and write them down.
I think of my dad every time I listen to a song and figure it out,I can still see him playing 45's over and over till he had songs figured out,our computerized world has made things much simpler but has changed the learning curve also.

Pix, my opinion of the WY1SB is mostly all positive, the only negative is it is a little low on volume compared to some dreds, but it is a small guitar that is put together better than anything I own.It stays in tune so long it is unbelievable and is so comfortable to play. Plugged in is when this little guitar really shines..I have owned it about 7 yrs and it has had alot of use.
I bought it used but it didn't even have a pick scratch on it,I thought I stoled it at $900. It is too sentimental to me to ever part with.

I owned a motorsports business for several years and we had a couple sayings,

"We can make your motor purr like a kitty in a creamery"

and

"If you think our prices are too high, bring your wife in and we'll dicker"    somethin like that
