I think whatever works for you is fine there are those who differ and I can understand there point of view, but ultimately do the best you can regardless if its midi or unassisted, people dont care what went into the song or how it was made all they care about is if it sounds good to them and there the ones who buy the cd's and pay the cover charges to hear music that they like :)

I must agree totally with Russ here.
Not having a way with the written word as some have here I think it just about hits the nail on the head.
What works for some musicans don't make it necessarily right or wrong but as long as good music (debatable point) is the end product then it works for me.
I use midi interfaces/computers sound loops and basically anything to create my own music and if it's enjoyed by people then I'm happy..

Hi Chordians
It's been a while... (I know who cares) smile
But I've been doing some other stuff (music wise) without Guitars.
Anyway here's one with my heavily FX Acoustic with added strings and backing. Not to everyones taste but Hey please give it a listen.
Why "Excalibur" well I like the Arthurian legends and I think the Instrumental runs well the film "Excalibur" trailer..
As always thanks for taking the time to read/listen...

Hi Russ
Thanks for your time and effort in seeing into the feasibility of this project.
Maybe the problems your've set out here are perhaps to difficult to surmount.
But then again I've been wrong before   smile

Hi Phill
Another little "gem" of a recording. Foot tapping nice catchy melody. Liked the harmonies.
Always been interested in the 2nd world war as my Father served in the Bomb disposal and had to deal with some of the unexploded bombs that fell on London during that time...

Selso
If you have signed up as an artist then you would be able to upload your songs to that account.
If not then you would would have to sign up again using a different email as an artist.

Hi selso
I don't think mediafire is such a great place to showcase your songs. Ok for file sharing but it does like using popups etc.
I think it's better to sign up on Myspace as an artist and upload your songs (maxium of six) to your page where the song will be played as it is viewed.

Hi Phill
I do use reverb a fair amount in instrumental pieces as it's great way of bringing prolonged depth to various instruments.
The use of reverb in vocals can be somewhat overpowering but can help a poor singing voice (writes from experience  here smile
I think basically there's no hard and fast rules here and playing with FX on different tracks is all part mixing process and what sounds good to the composer.

Hi Radchael1975
Sounds like you ready for some finger picking.
It's what the acoustic was meant for apart from strumming and singing along.  smile
Seriously it's a whole new ball game and rewarding with easy through to impossible tunes to learn..
Oh composing your own stuff has got it's rewards as russ says  smile

Hi bensonp
I think some of the more techinically minded members maybe those who like theory etc may go for it.
But to me making decent music would never be the ability to score high on some chart not even out of curiosity..
I have to agree with Russ and Doug.

Hi Russ
Maybe it would be an idea if Chordians who are up for this CD would like to donate/nominate a few of there own pieces say 2 or 3 and you can decide which ones to include in the CD.
and then take it from there..
Phills got some great songs same as yourself and Roger... (He maybe a bit busy at the Moment smile
and many others here James etc..
Anyway here's mine..
and in no particular order
Lunar Spirits
Afhganistan Deployment
Copernicus

Hi autoharptom
If you want a direct substitution for any chord in a song then it really all depends what sounds right to you in the contex of what you are playing.
It's all what sounds ok Emaj7 for Emaj in a song might sound ok you would just have to try it see how it sounds.
There's no real subsitution for a correct chord only the type of variation or voice as has stated..

Hey Russ
Thanks for answer glad to hear there's no demotions being handed out.  smile
Does this mean the Moderators have to keep to their own sections and can't now cross over into each other territory so to speak. I've noticed some friction of late between Admin. and Per had to step in closing a thread an unpresidented action as far as I know.
I'm just wondering here.

Hi lone-woodwose
Using the mic in port is not always a good way into the computer for recording using a pre-amp. If your soundcard has a audio in port in I would try that.
Try a different lead if you can from pre-amp to the computer.
