Give us a number where we can reach you and those of us who make it to Red Top will call you and wish you a Happy New Year.

Or...... if I win the lottery, you won't have those "prohibitive" problems. I'll just come over there and "Funster-Nap" you! smile

Just kidding! smile

Hey Scott? You have a multi-talented young lady on your hands, my friend!  Dondra also paints, but since her stroke affected her eyesight, she hasn't done much even though I encourage her. But THIS, Scott, is a sign Bethany is going places and I am so proud to have a friend with such a talented daughter! Amazing!  smile

Oh, my! THAT needs publishing! Garrison Keillor reads poetry every morning at 11 am on PBS Radio. This is as good or better than what he reads, and I mean that sincerely, Bethany and Scott. What's your major? I hope it's English Lit and/or Journalism because I think you have the makings of being a great writer. Thanks for sharing this with us, "Proud Pop"! smile

Okay, the one when I was a Scout. Sorry I can't link you to it, but maybe you can come up with some minor and sinister chords. Ready?

"You better watch out when the hearse comes by
"Cause you may be the next to die....

They wrap you up in a bloody sheet
And stick you down about 6 feet deep.

Then all goes well for about a week
And then your nose begins to leak

The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out
Start to play Pinockle on your snout

They eat your eyes, they eat your nose
And eat the cheese between your toes

Your guts roll out like whipping cream
And turn your face a slimy green....

PLEAAASE Pass the gravy!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------

This may not be correct as far as lyrics go, but if you take your Scouts on a trip and the mood is just right, they may not sleep too well.

Bwah smile

Bill

PS: And don't forget to take them "Snipe Hunting".......

RED TOP MOUNTAIN STATE PARK,

Of course I have to wait until 2017 to make that reservation final, but no money has to be paid till then.

I know, my friend and thanks for not taking offense at my "knees" comment - as I said, I really don't understand. But as you were my very first friend to welcome me here, I think you will tolerate my ignorance? Thanks.......... "And the lines on the road just looked like dots!" smile

Top, you definitely have to come, being that you're in FLA. Dondra says that if it works out, would you bring her a really pretty seashell? Not one you'd have to buy, but one you might find. I'll keep posting and since it's 2017, that would give everyone time to plan. Me and "She Who Must Be Obeyed" just have to stay alive that long! smile

Don't worry about the above. She knows my satirical sense of humor and tolerates it!  smile

Thanks and let's have some fun at Red Top!

I "rain" a lot when I read your posts. I guess I just don't know how to act sometimes, but know this: If we ever win big in the lottery,  ALL of you are coming here! I just hope I can stay alive till then. What's that old saying? "You Can't Take It With You"?  (I was in that play, by the way here at the Carroll County Theatre). May as well spend on my Chordie Family. smile

Man, I wish we could be there, UJB! We haven't tried flying yet, but since her stroke, I am just now letting Dondra drive short distances and me coming alone is not an option. I wish ALL of you a lot fun and beautiful music!

Your friend is so fortunate to have you caring about him. I had never heard of Dysphoric Bipolar-Depression, TF, but being mentally handicapped (I won't use "challenged" anymore ---- blame George Carlin)  myself, I know how important it is to have friends who understand. I felt this poem, my friend. Thank you for caring.

I got to play drums for Joe South (Grammy winner for (I Beg Your Pardon) "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden") before he became famous. A Georgia native, he and his band played at my high school one night and his drummer didn't show up, so he asked the audience if anyone could play drums (they were already there), so my friends pushed me toward the stage. After that night, the only times I ever saw him were on American Bandstand and several other shows.

Other than playing in high school ( Fullback because my Father did and wanted ME to), I don't follow American Football that much these days favoring German "Fussball" (That's what I call it), but I don't know (from what I see), I don't know if I like that going down on the knee much, dino. Maybe I don't understand it?

I left her a comment on the Tube. That was beautiful, TF, thank you for the share. Easy on the eyes, too. (although I didn't tell HER that!) smile

Please be safe and take care of each other. From what we hear, it's going to be a bad one. If you need to evacuate, Dondra and I have plenty of room. Just let us know.

We love you!

This may be a little late and way old, but it's a beautiful song and never fails to make me swallow hard and rain a little. Is it okay to post the link? It's The Brothers Four:

I don't know how this would go over, because except for "deep" Florida y'all don't visit the South too much, but here in Georgia (and not too far away from me and Dondra, we have a State Park by the name of "Red Top Mountain" and it is beautiful there.

The idea is, if y'all could make it down, maybe we could celebrate New Years' Eve together. There are cabins and Yurts and plenty of sleep room. Two cabins should do it, and the Yurt for all of us to either sleep and/or play and sing.

And well, I hesitate to mention this, but Dec. 31st is also my birthday, and I can't think of any better way to spend it than with my Chordie Family. I realize it's a little late for THIS year, but maybe in 2017.

I know.... it's a long way to travel, isn't it, but give it some thought and see what we can come up with. "Madondra" (she hates it when I call her that smile ) would love to show y'all some Some Southern Hospitality and show off her cookin'.

Thanks for considering it.

Late as usual, but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss, Mo'. They don't get to live as long as we do and that is why every moment we spend with them is as precious as it can be. I love that song and it sounds like all the time you spent with her was that precious time. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time, my friend.

Thanks to everyone for the replies! On a more serious note, Dondra and I sometimes have a tough time with the loneliness around here. Because of the dementia and because I sometimes say inappropriate things, the fault for this is largely mine. I have become somewhat of a recluse/hermit and because of that, she makes the sacrifice ( I call it that - she calls it loving me and taking care of this "old fart) of staying home with me.

I do insist she goes out for lunch or a dinner/movie with our son and/or her family, so it isn't as if she's chained to me, my friends. smile

I realize that some may consider what I just wrote "private", but when I was diagnosed with the dementia, I decided to make my life an "open book/diary" of sorts, and this is just a part of my life I don't like.

While I am on the subject of being "inappropriate", if I have hurt someone's feelings with what I have written here, I ask for forgiveness and hope you will take in consideration my illness and at the same time try to remember that I try very hard not to hurt anyone. Because I can write, it gives me the opportunity to reread what I have written and make any corrections needed, but I am sorry to say that sometimes things "slip by" and don't make sense and possibly are taken the wrong way. Please know that these gaffes of mine are not intended to hurt anyone.

We love you,  our friends and family!

.......... from my friends who are also on FB? It is my brother's birthday today, and although he's a drummer and not a guitarist, I was wondering if some of you might add to my (rather lengthy - you don't have to read it) birthday post and wish him a happy birthday?

Thanks very much!
