Hi fordie
Welcome to chordie...
Sore fingers goes with the territory  smile
Things do get better as time goes by when you play regularly and your fingertips hardern.
Try as suggested shorter playing times but more often if possible.
It's all part of the learning curve I'm afraid..

Hi Alan
Recording is like anything we do in life comes down to practice and recognising your mistakes and try to put them right.
It sounds like you going in the right direction..
Well done

Hey Kenny
You come up with some great lyrics..
Afghanistan is like a slowly haemorrhaging wound for our countries. I hope all the deaths are worth the final outcome.
All the soldiers are heros in my book..

Hi Phill
I prefer the electric version. I think the chorus FX guitar is your sound... Nice use of reverb too.

Hi oldbinky
Welcome to chordie.
The piece I think you mean is maybe "Malaguena" which uses a continuous open high e through opening bars.
Sounds cool and not to hard to get... link here http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.l … aguena.tab
Hope it's the one your after.

After an abortive attempt to learn in my teens (Just couldn't get it to sound like Clapton or Page) lol
Later in life a work colleague who played in a good amateur band at the time took the the time to explain the basics of the guitar chords etc to me and I was hooked for life..... Thanks Steve

Hey Arkady , Greenleeves is a tune that will always be dear to me .. Once in a while at jams I will do an instrumental picking version of it ... A long time ago I also recorded an instrumental version but on that recording I played guitar ( picking ) and then I also added violin and viola parts to it ... Just always loved that tune ....

Hi jerry
Your rendition of Greensleeves sounds like it could be really nice. Any chance of getting it up on myspace or somewhere simular so we could have a listen...

Phill you are on a roll. Man where do you find the time to work?   smile
Hope to hear this one recorded soon..
The Gdim Chord looked sorta familar..
I realised many years back I learn't to arpeggio "Private Investigations" by Dire Straits"
and Gdim to Am6/f# (21220) sounds so good. Dug out my old song book and relived some old memories.
Sorry to ramble (Old age)....

The first song a learn't to play was "Green sleeves" picking.
As opposed to just strumming song chords and howling smile

Hi Russ
Just a thought you may know. On XP windows if you press Ctrl/Alt/Delete together you get up the Task Manager which will attempt to close unreponsive programs if they are first highlighted and then hit the End Task.
This doesn't always work but it may help to avoid a reboot..

Hi Alan
Well done it's a big step to take recording your music. Getting over the cringe factor of hearing your voice etc.. (Some don't) smile
Like all things in this world it takes practice and perservence to improve as you know.
Multi tracking is the way to go for clarity taking each musical and vocal element and blending them together until your happy.
Both songs are good and have lots of potential. so I hope you stick with it..

The first guitar I had was a Spanish Classical given to me as a child from my Grandfather. I’m afraid to say now that I trashed what would be now regarded as a collectors item. I totally maltreated a fine guitar and never learnt anything from it. Well If I knew then what I know now etc.. etc…
I now currently own a Hohner Jumbo with a nice deep bass tone.
A mid priced Washburn electro acoustic a real workhorse and versatile I use it all the time.
A limited edition Silver Sister Mexican Strat.
And  a old  70’s Tele copy which  needs restoration. Will get around to it some day.

Hi kenny
Thanks for you comments and for showing an interest.
I've been working on more string orientated music. Must say I'm binning more than I'm keeping but it's enjoyable all the same.
There's a piece called "Dawn" on my Myspace page it's also entered in Ourstage this Feb which is an example of what I've been doing.
How you getting on with the Boss digital recorder getting to grips with it yet any songs in the offing..
