It's a Session guitar (which I still have and use as my "pickup test" guitar now); I've never been able to find much info about them on the web, but there was this snippet from this site:

Session were a brand in Australia by The Electric Factory in Melbourne Victoria …… the first and second runs were made in Japan and were of very good quality that stood up against Profiles and Daions , the third and fourth runs were made in Korea but weren’t quite the same ….. I believe they sold the brand name around 1995

I think mine was one of the early ones as it plays and feels very good - it was my main ax for a number of years!!

Thanks - the guitar bass and drums were recorded live to my 8 track way back in the mid nineties at a rehearsal room - the keyboardist didn't turn up and we just jammed out a few songs. There were about 4 or 5 verses we played, thenb during 2023 I edited the audio down to the two verses that the song had and added the vocals, effects and tweaked the sound of the original instruments into what you heard in that track.

This was one that I did sometime back in the 90's - a friend used to make "video productions", and every year he and his extended friend group would make one big video - on this year they did a Telethon-style appeal for Nana Mouskouri:

I had a drum machine that I operated with my foot, (probably a Boss DR-110) and the other guitarist (Michael) was just for show (and extra vocals) - he was the drummer in one of our bands. I later bought the bass players (Kevin) bass guitar and still have it:

Most of the other acts were miming or telling jokes, and they were all impressed by our 3 minute cover of "My Generation" by the Who - several people complimented us on the way out. I can't remember what we did with amps and stuff, but it was probably with our old configuration of a Boss BX600 mixer into a practice amp.

We also made a couple of music videos for the band, but the music was the original and we just kind of mimed and "starred" in the video - I think they were the Beatles "Back in the USSR" and "End of the line" by the Travelling Wilburies. I'd probably get pinged by YouTube for a copyright infringement if I put them up ...

I performed this song about 6 years ago on Soundcloud, I was trying to play guitar 'again'.   I found when I sang this, I was so focused on the guitar playing and TRYING to get it right that my vocals weren't so good.  I need to get that guitar out again and dust it off.  Trouble is, I get frustrated with the guitar because I can`t seem to nail the F chord on it and I am useless at barr chords.

Thanks, yes, one of my originals. Glad the balance was good, when I performed this song, the microphone was playing up, so had to stop and start again, so glad it got there in the end!!

Part of the problem is that we no longer look to the elderly for advice; whereas in previous generations the elderly were held in high regard for their experience and their tenacity, they are now ignored and (sometimes) ridiculed.

We now live in a society where we turn to "influencers" for their view - but these are often people chosen because they have big boobs or a big mouth; these are not the sort of people we should be asking for advice - their "opinion" matters, but not in singularity, in conjunction with all other opinions.

This is akin to asking a "sports star" to perform a complex medical procedure ....

I was outraged when I read the story about the UK Postmasters, for anyone that missed it, this was the first article that came to me via Google:

But the world is getting a smaller, tighter, more cynical place ... and particularly over the last few years - I always use Covid as a marker, but not the cause.

I think the world started going a bit crazy when the "Internet 2.0" was born, which was the time when the internet went from "informational" to "transactional" - this was a transition caused by all the businesses wanting to lower their costs (example, 10 people in call center can be replaced by two people responding to emails as they come through, during normal office hours to reduce overtime). All this was sold to regular people as "for your convenience", but it was actually just a cost saving exercise for big business. And every sector of that business was asked to "cut costs".

I see moving to a cashless society as a bad thing.

Sorry I'm running a bit late, but for Mays suggestions, I'm going to stick with what I did before, as we seem to end up with a good degree of randomness. If anyone has any feedback, happy to discuss either here or in PM.

For May 2024 suggestions you'll need to follow these steps:
