The Daft Fan of the Silver ScreenBy Zen Galileo 2012

slow 4/4

[C]Whatever happened to Rosemary Pillowater?

[C]Whatever happened to our Rosemary Pillowater?

She [G]lived round bouts 1917 at the birth of the silver screen

And played demure dark ladies on Sunday

Like Vamp and Gloria Swanson you know

[C]Some days a boy like me could [Em]be

The daft fan [C]of the silver screen [G]

[C]Whatever happened to Rosemary Pillowater?

[C]Whatever happened to our Rosemary Pillowater?

She [G]worked at showing skin to little boys

Who'd pay ten cents to be a voyeur

For a minute at the arcade from their

Winnins at the card table a

[C]Penchant for what they say's ob[Em]scene

The daft fan [C]of the silver screen [G]

[Em]Oh, she was just five feet tall

but the scratches on the wall say she es[D]caped

[Em]You can't incinerate the white hot

Heat of self hate she was a[F]lone[G]

And she [Am]thought of Greta Johanson

As she drank her last Algonquin

And she stepped out on the ledge just like a [G]dove

And her [Am]world closed in around her

As her hands raised high above her

And she dove from the Long Beach Breakers Ho[F]tel

The [C]longest short ca[Bb]reer you've ever seen [F]

And [C]woe to the daft fan [Bb]of the silver [F]screen

[F]Whatever happened to Rosemary Pillowater?

[F]Whatever happened to our Rosemary Pillowater?

She [C]died.

This song actually is a folk ballad in fact. Woodwinds might sound nice if they are not too busy.

[D]I keep your [A]stick up notes on [G]rules to clean the [A]house your way

[Em] Cut out just for [A]me, [Em] I want everyone to [A]see [G]That they are

[D] Traces of [A]you [G]all about the [A]place and they are

[D]Evidence so [A]true that [G]we once shared a [A]place and you were

Kiss Her NowBy Zen Galileo

capo up to 5th fret in slow 4/4

[A] [C#m] [D] [E] [D] [A] [D] [E]

If you’re [A]wonderin when to [C#m]kiss her [D]and put your heart on the [E]line

[D] The pages of [A]history [D]aren’t for the cowardly [E]kind

If you’re [A]wonderin when to [C#m]touch her hand [D] In that tenderly [E]way

[D] No fire born of [A]heaven’s love [D] ever could hesi [E]tate

If you’re [A]thinkin it’s too early in the re [C#m]lationship [D] to cross that friendship [E]line

[D] No Romeo and no [A]Juliette [D] ever called it a [E]crime

So if you[D]feel a little shaky and have an [E]awkward stance

[D]If you’re kicking at some pebbles on the [E]ground

[D]I’m not saying lucky but this [A]might be your chance

[D]To put your defenses [E]down

If you were [D]wonderin when to [E]kiss her, kiss [A]her now

In front of [D]God and every [E]one

This is the [D]sign you [E]asked for I’ll a[A]vow

Just like the [D]rising of the[E]sun

Venus, [D]Cupid and the [E]angels singin [A]out

If you were [D]wonderin when to [E]kiss her, kiss her [A]now[D] [E] [A]

If you [A]ask me how I [C#m]know so much [D] about when to kiss and [E]how

[D] It’s not a story I’m [A] glad to tell, [D] no end of wedding [E]vows

You see, [A] I was a fool, the kind who [C#m]laughed at love

[D] Who thought it common and [E]cheap

[D] So the Goddess of [A] Tenderness [D] cursed my heart to ever [E]bleed

[A] And so I’ve lived for these [C#m]myriad years [D]just thinkin about that [E]kiss

[D] It’s the one that you [A] never did, [D] that you’ll forever [E]miss

So if you[D]feel a little shaky and have an [E]awkward stance

[D]If you’re listenin to a word of this [E]song

[D]Sometimes you don’t get that [A] second chance

[D]To ignite that chariot at [E]dawn

If you were [D]wonderin when to [E]kiss her, kiss [A]her now

In front of [D]God and every[E]one

This is the [D]sign you [E]asked for I’ll a[A]vow

Like the [D]rising of the [E]sun

Venus, [D]Cupid and the [E]angels shouting [A]out

If you were [D]wonderin when to [E]kiss her, kiss [A]her now

Christ [D]curse me if I’m [E]wrong

But she’s [D]hopin that you’ll [E] figure it [A]out

Heed the [D]words of this [E]song

Every [D]omen in the [E]stars is bearing [A]witness to this [F#m]row

If [E]you were [D]prayin about [E]kissing her

The LORD saith… [A]NOW [D][E][A][F#m] [D][E][A6] [A5/E]

I'm working on doing some youtube videos. But for now I think just to sit with the words of this song is powerful. Wrought from real pain.

thanks

I accessed a link to look at all my posts from two different places on the site and neither of them worked.

Actually I am making corrections on a song I already posted a while back. To do this I am replying to my song post and pasting it in the box in chord pro style. Everything shows up fine except the subtitle line (which I use as a by line because there is no line for that.)
{st: by Zen Galileo} is exactly how I do it but it doesn't show. Also other parts of the heading are out of alignment. Somehow the intro chords show up on top of the comments line or in the middle of the line. Appreciate any help

I keep forgetting how to do this and I don't see it anywhere. Please help.

Thank you! Very helpful.

and put the dots where you are pressing the strings? And then it just tells you what the chord is called based on that?

On whether the E string is supposed to be muted, well, it's my song so I would have to say to myself, "I want to mute the string on this part" or more correctly I would ask the spirit muse what he/she wanted me to do since he/she delivered it to me so to speak.

Thanks Jets.
"You just might find some purest who'll tell you it is not a chord at all" That is so funny, yes I know the type. And "Word" isn't a word either. In the mean time I am just going to put in all the main chords of the song and also work a little harder to make sure I really exist.

It's a victory I'm comin home

I'm comin home, I'm comin home.

...format if I do not know what the name of the chord is?
In fact, it is a little more complicated than that. What is played and how it is played in the song I am working on entering in to this site really amounts to little more than a step down. For instance, i START ON c MAJOR, AND THEN i SIMPLY STEP DOWN THE BASS NOTe on half step while at the same time lifting up my middle finger, which was being used to play third string second fret, and placing that middle finger on second string second fret. So what results is a momentary count of on quarter note on this chord (020010.) Hopefully someone can make sense of that. Then a short time later, two counts later I am playing the Am chord and I use my pinky finger to play G on the E string while continuing to play the archepagio on each chord.
Or if there is some other resource on might point me to so I can learn the proper way to document the song. This will be only my second song, of all my songs I am attempting to put on chordie, so I am still getting used to the "how to" and all that. I appreciate in attempt to help me figure the best way to document what I am playing. Tabs might be an option in the future, but for now I am really just wanting to get the chords and words online in a printable format. Thanks
Zen

Yay! My first song entered into chordie.com. So glad I stuck it out and learned how to use chordie. I am not very internet savvy, but this is pretty much what I wanted to accomplish, so yay! Many more to come. Something like 200.

It is still annoyingly small. My computer's settings are fine. Every other site in the world has a larger login box. And why do I have to always click cntrl + when you can just make the box a little bigger. It is annoying.

It seems like really the lettering on the whole site is a bit small, but the log in box here on chordie.com is ridiculously small. I have average sight. But I find this annoying.
