There was another ad that seemed to be trying to sell a miniature submarine. Little wonder that we thought kids in the States lived in a different world.

I had one of those subs, it cost two cereal box tops and 25 cents.  You put about 1 teaspoon of baking soda in the bottom set it in the water. Sinks to the bottom and then the baking soda would make a bubble, sub goes to the surface where the air bubble escapes, sub sinks.. LOL...it would surface five or six times....

Hey   Russel   talk about coming from the poor side of town-- our running water came from a 2 inch pipe next to the sink, that ran down thru the counter-top and straight down about 3o feet . The faster you pumped the handle the sooner ya filled the sink  lol

does any one remember heating there water with a gizmo that had a coil on one end in the water and plugged the other end in the wall?  You just had to remember to unplug before removing the coil from the water YEEEOOWWW.

Mom always says I'm a hillbilly. And today one of the guys at work asked me if I wanted an opposum sp. .. I said --What for? He says-- to EAT!!  I said-- Jerry.. just because I eat  turtles and frogs don't mean I'll eat a opposum .   Anyone have a good recipe? lol

Yeah, I remember selling the Grit newspaper. The party line ring. A nickel in the jukebox for one song. In the summer on Wed. and Sat. mornings at 4:00 am to 6:00 am picking Gladiolas for the farmer down the road to take to the farm market for 25 cents an hour. He was a good ole boy though, if we finished early and didn't drop any, we still got the 50 cents! Yeah, I'm a GEEZER! And lovin' every minute of it!!

Sounds like a good idea Micky !! big_smile

Now , just where Does that road start, Mick ?  big_smile

Well, the bears around hear certainly keep me thinking of them when I'm trout fishing. But they don't usually run ya off the creek.  smile

A couple years ago trying to find a better way into a sweet spot waay back in the swamp. Up ahead something runs off, from a ridge that I was taking back to the water. When I reached the spot where I thought it ran from, there was a big tamarack with a split about 10 feet up with a bee hive in it. This tree was covered with claw marks, the freshest of which about 8 feet up. I looked around and figured it was safe. The stream was about another 40 yards or so along a game trail right to the waters edge. When I slipped into the water I heard a sound back at the bee tree. Sounded something like a squirrel coming down a tree in response to a good barking call on a frosty fall morn. So I listened for a bit, till things settled down then I started wading up the creek. Maybe three steps in that water and there was a thump on the ground over there and something was running through the tag alders. It was coming pretty fast. At this point I'm quite sure ole blacky's coming my way. By the time it stops. no more than 15 feet from the water, with only it's face exposed from the ferns and blackberry bushes.  I'm about 25 feet upstream. We had eye contact for , "it seemed like time stopped. I couldn't swallow the lump in my throat" maybe 3 seconds. As the bear slowly turns away.  I just knew it was some territorial thing. Now-a-days, when I'm fishing up through that stretch. I just pull the canoe upstream, well past the bee tree. Drift back down to the truck. I DON"T walk that ridge anymore!!!!!!!

  Yeah,I guess it's Bears!

I'm with Zurf on the D'Addario's. Their only the largest string maker on the planet. And you've been playing 4 mo. and going to barred chords, good for you, smile and do go with the light gauge for now

Well that's a sad story! sad
I didn't care for his stuff anyway.

You'd think if he's not gonna entertain, he could at least put the darn thing down if he can't play it! Now I've just got one more reason not to like his stuff.

So this is resolved?  it is the key of G, and the verse uses the 1,4,5 chords played in a 5,4,1 progression?  In which case the music theory's that Jerome shares  "wwhwwwh"  prove themselves once again!  And Alabama is a sweet place to call home  big_smile

Hey Russ
I'm only asking this cuz I don't know, and I have no training, only self taught, in any of that music theory stuff.
As an example; Let's use the D,C,G, progression with it starting in D, saying it's in the key of D calling it a 1 b7 4 progression.  I'm thinking, using the D,C,G, progression starting with the D, that it's in the key of G using the 1,4,5 chords, but in a 5,4,1, progression.
I don't, but,If anyone has a song book with the sheet music to it we could count the sharps or flats to determine the key, note the chord progression, and then we'd be able to figure if it's a "1,b7,4 --or a ,5,4,1 progression.

I don't think it makes a difference but I'm really curios now.

Does this make any sense or am I a complete lunatic? big_smile

Does this have the same words as the one written by Willie Nelson performed by Patsy Cline?

Yeah, ya gotta love a good B Minor,.. Zurf.... HE. HE. HE.
I like to put my capo on upside down at the second fret and leave the 6th string open. then play in a D pos. use the open E string like a drone, sounds oh so sweet!!  Songs like Rueben's train or Arkansas traveler, Blue Diamond Mine.

Be sure to apply a small piece of tape on the location you're going to drill, to prevent any flaking at the point of entry of the drill bit.

As for the warranty, if any damage results from the installation, regardless of who does it , except for someone they "your guitar manufacturer" approves. The damage will not be covered. Any other problems that may develop, not related to the strap button should still be covered.

Like "pix" said, be sure and not drill any deeper than you must. Also "imo" as for the drill bit  I've always used one "at least"  the size of the screw shank at it's largest point, so only the treads cut into the wood. This way the hole does NOT need to expand to accommodate the screw.

Also you might want a piece of material between the strap button and the guitar when finished, sort of a gasket if you will. In a hand rotary tool kit they're some buffing accessories about the size of a dime, some kind of fiber, they work great!

Choose wisely my fellow chordian, if it goes poorly, sad
There is no "UNDO" button, and it can be costly.

Way to go KajiMa !!  Coming from a family of archers, I'm well aware of the discipline you've achieved. I thought I had a good release, your's must be as smooth as silk. 120 meters, WOW!!!      Just curious, what is the diameter of a red and a gold?

Hi Jerome, you've provided so much info-GREAT JOB!!-  I'm having trouble seeing the image for the D shape, I've typed in the address all I get is a 404 error.

I wonder where the time line will be? Ya gotta love Carey!

Selso---another thing that might help, the open G string on the mando is the same note in the same octave as the open G on the guitar. the open D on the mando is the same as the 3rd fret 2nd string on the guitar, open A on the mando=5th fret 1st string on guitar and the open E on mando =12th fret 1st string of guitar. You will have to use your ear to get close. Most chromatic tuners will take you the rest of the way up, with no problems.
