I haven't really listened to Queensryche since Empire ... their songs have really gone "down hill" since then

I cover a lot of Social Distortion and Judas Priest ... with a little Kenny Chesney thrown in wink

I've actually hit pinch harmonics before when I've held the the pick in the manner Russ said ... but when I realize I've done it, I go back and try to do it again and I can't ... I must be a natural!  tongue

Also, it's amazing at how many songs contain natural harmonics in it (i.e. Who Are You? by The Who) ... I never noticed it before until I understood what natural harmonics were

How about Richard Wacker?  This was a guy I went to school with!

I'd have to say Dos Equis

George Strait is for you then ... "Adilada" and "Stars on the Water" are extremely easy ... Brooks and Dunn "Neon Moon" is easy as well The Bellamy Brothers "Let Your Love Flow"

Ahhh ok now I'm understanding ... I was thinking you had to "push" the string side-to-side to get that effect ... that makes a heck of a lot more sense

Actually 06, my boss at work bought the "Cadillac" version ... my buddie and me keep telling him to bring it in so we can check it out ... when I see the commercial of him his long pinky nail irritates the heck out of me ... although common sense says it's for picking but I think it's for snorting

Hello Bighenbroon and welcome to Chorie ... In regards to slower songs, I've always been partial to country songs (if you like that genre) ... especially George Strait songs ... a lot of them are slow strumming chords ... "Stars on the Water" and "Adalida" come to mind ... as far as barre chording, it takes A LOT of practice ... I couldn't learn on an acoustic since it sounded terrible but I practiced on my electric and I was able to get the form down somewhat and after a while, it made it easier on the acoustic (although it still doesn't sound great on acoustic yet)

They're all I use ... I've tried different strings and I keep going back to the Elixirs

I can't get past Sam Adams though I've tried many times to like it I just can't ... Schaefer was my Dad's "cheap weekend 24-pack" beer of choice most times ... now the UK had some great beer ... I loved Newcastle and Carlsberg (Dutch) and Guiness was good too ... though I still couldn't take drinking beer at "room temperature"

I love that game.  It's as much fun as I've ever had with a video game (Gears of War excepted).  We'll play Rock Band after rehearsal sometimes, just for kicks.

Hey Jerome ... do you have GOW II or just the first one?

Just the 1st one.      When I was playing it, I had to literally put the controller down and walk away from the game forever.  It's complete crack.  I don't even have a TV any more, but Sweet Irish Thing is making me get one, so I'm setting up for GOWII.   I figure once an addict, always an addict!  big_smile

I love the "Rendevouz With Death" trailer for it.

I loved the first one as well ... like you said, I couldn't put it down either ... I haven't gotten GOWII yet though ... it's strictly a Play Station game right?  I can't remember ... but now I've become addicted to Fallout 3 and can't put it down either!

I remember all those beers mainly from my Dad (being a Navy brat) ... Yuengling I remember the bottles came in that huge box that my Dad would recycle and I actually had an Air Force buddie who's last name was Yuengling (was his great great grandfather) ... Genesee I remember from our neighbor who's house was basically a hunters lodge and he'd drink nothing but Genesee and dump the cans in back of the house which we dubbed "Jenny Mountain" ... PBR and Piels my Dad used to drink in Virginia when he was stationed in Virginia Beach

I do like Lonestar though ... but Dos Equis is a great beer that you have to have with lemon juice added ... primo

I still can't understand half of what Billy Gibbons is saying in that song neutral

Ballad - "One" by U2
Hard Rock - "Stairway to Heaven " by Led Zep
Blues - "Pride and Joy" by SRV
R&B - "Heard It Through the Grape Vine" by Marvin Gay
Country - "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash  (Honorable mention goes to "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw)

Thought I'd throw another category in there tongue

Speaking of beer, anyone remember these:

PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon)
Genesee (Jenny)
Yuengling
Piels
Dos XX (Dos Equis)
Rolling Rock
Honey Brown
Schaefer

Like Guitar Hero or hate it, I believe it has to have a positive impact in enticing youngsters to picking up a real guitar. Sheer numbers speak for themselves. Here's a quote from Sammy Ash (COO of Sam Ash music stores)

“My own personal theory is very simple, we’re reaching close to 20 million Guitar Hero purchases,  Ash said. “If one percent, and that’s it, it’s just one percent of the people who own Guitar Hero decide that, ‘you know what? Let me go out and buy a guitar.’ That’s 200,000 guitars coming into a market that didn’t exist before. It’s one of the very first times a crossover is going on.

I agree completely with that comment

I'm curious as to how to improve my vibrato technique ... anyone have any ideas?  Is it just simply practicing moving your wrist or do you move your finger and wrist?
