Good for you sir, guitar keeps you young....At heart anyway!!! I find that doing some hand stretching for a minute or two helps with the pain and the cramping!!! Now if your gonna play for 3 hours straight then you might experience some pain. Try stretching your fingers before playing and I recently had the action on my guitar lowered, got some medium strings on it and tuned down half a step now this thing is like butter it flys now. Hope some of these suggestions help out some!

I have chordie on my iTouch 4G, also have ultimate guitar tabs, ultimate guitar tab tools (chord finder, tuner, etc.) My touch is jailbroken i should mention so if your iPhone is not jailbroken you will have to pay for UGT, and the tools. Another cool app is Songwriters Pad, it's basically a pad where if you have ideas for a song you can write em down in either the verse section or  chorus section it also has words to help you ryhme other words to. check it out!!! chordie is great to have especially if you have song books you can sit outside and reference your song books if you forget a chord or 2 to a song!! Laters I'll keep looking for music apps!!!

keep it up top! I smoked for 15 years and stopped 4 months ago. What I started doing was the 12 dollars a week I was spending on "cancer sticks" is I put it in a piggy bank, well 4months later I got a fat pig with $190 dollars and counting. I quit cold turkey, not that hard but I did go through alot of minty fresh gum!! I still fight with the thought of smoking or just throwing in the towel, but now my daughter and my wife actually like to get close to me since I don't stink like an old wet ashtray!!

I just follow the rythm of every song. Example have you ever found yourself playing imaginary drums when a song you like comes on the radio. I apply the same principal to the guitar, I just bang out the rythm in an up or down stroke. Oh and the most important thing, just keep practicing!!!! And don't cheat on your chords!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!

Here's a button accordion, much cooler looking than that other dinosaur. I wanna learn some tunes from the Texas Tornados and some Tex-Mex Polkas.

No no no a concertina is from the middle ages. The button accordian is also different from the piano accordian. Actually I think the accordian is a descendent from the middle ages. concertina pictured below

I started playing alot of neil young some time ago and I found that neil changes  his tuning alot, alot!!. So I had to start learning to tune my guitar to drop c, double drop D drop standard, drop half steps etc etc. any way every time I had to get back to standard tuning I had to get my guitar tuner out and retune. Well.....I (out of nowhere) just decided to tune back to standard tuning on my own by ear. GUess what chordians. I retuned going string by string starting with the high E and low and behold you won't believe it I got the tuning so close to my electronic tuner that I almost fell out of my chair with disbelieve. I've been playing for about 3 years, and this was a big highlight in my guitar playing journey. I've tried it other times to see if it wasn't a fluke and no ti wasn't I can actually hear what the not is supposed to sound like in standard tuning. I then afterwards turn my tuner on and double check and I'm getting better. Well all I can say is practice makes perfect. Also I've practiced every day since I bought my guitar give or take a week or so since I bought my guitar in december of 2007. I found chordie six months later (thank you lord). KEEP PRACTICING FELLOW CHORDIANS AND DON'T CHEAT ON YOUR CHORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like to substitute easier sounding chords with the real chord. It is frustrating at first but that's one of the things I love about my guitar. I love when I accomplish something that I was struggling with, and then one day it's just like BAMMM!!! I got it  I actually for real lives really got it. It's an awesome feeling, and the song sounds just like it should. Keep practicing!!

I don't know why but I learned B7 when I first started playing. I learned the G of course C,D E,A, and B7...Hmmm Well anyway it took me the longest and I had to really stare at my hand to make sure All the fingers fell on the right strings but I eventually got it. Don't try cheating with the chord or any chord just keep practicing it. It really is a beautiful sounding chord when you hit all the strings. And don't worry after you've been playing guitar for three years straight I guarantee you'll be able to play it. Good Luck

I like finding new bands and hearing new sounds. Never heard these dudes before but I'll probably check out more tunes from them.

Hey cool man I hadn't noticed my senior member badge, Thanks! thats awesome. I've been practicing alot lately and haven't been too active on the forum!
