Go to you tube and look for video's on guitar lessons. There's bound to be something on there. If not then sign up and ask. Someone will probably post one. Hope this helps.

Alvee33,
Great version! Really enjoyed watching and listening. Continue on posting. very well done!
Maybe someday I'll sign up and post my version of something, who knows. upyerkilt, here's an idea. If you should decide to respond back, I would say something like: I'm very sorry you feel the way you do 'bout my humble attempt to play this song! Maybe you could post your version of the song. I look forward to hearing it. Please have a nice day.
                                                                                      sincerely - up yers!
That ought to throw them off a bit.

Your darn straight '58 was a good year! I was born Jan 6 1958.... Omg! I just dated myself, but I'm not alone, cuz Doug just dated himself too! You might go to Gibson website and research it. They just might have an archive you can look at that will at the very least give you some specifics on the guitar. After that, you might check on e-bay or one of those sites and see if there might be one of those or something similar. That might put you in the ballpark. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

You are so right!!! You remember Beavis And Butthead? Well those are the buttheads!! I don't have an account, just for that reason. I know I'm not the best singer or guitar player, and I don't need some rude arse telling me so with every curse word they know! And some they made up! I've seen some of your stuff on there upyerkilt and the vids you post are just fine. I would just ignore the rude people and keep posting. I guess I should take my own advice and post! I do have a myspace artist page, but have not posted anything, cus I'm still learning the in's and out's of recording.

Cubase looks like an awsome program! When I try to use it, it tells me I need to put an insert in, but when I try, it wont let me! Go figure! It's part of the program, so getting rid of it I don't think is an option. It has a manual, but you need to be an M. I. T graduate to understand it! I also have a Tascam 2488, but it keeps overheating on me so it's sitting in the closet till I decide what I want to do with it. I think I'll contact Tascam and find out what is wrong with it or go to there forum and explain to them what it's doing. Maybe someone on there knows whats up!

I have a Boss ME30 that I run through and then to my pc. It has a bypass, so I can still play or record through my pc if I don't want to use the pedal. It also has built in tuner, which is awsome. Has preset and user settings, so you can set each indivitual effect to your taste and save them for future use. That being said, I do have an onboard effects program that came with my soundcard that I purchased at Guitar Center for around $100.00 US dollars. Also came with a cubase recording program, Which I've yet learned to operate. But Audacity works just fine till I can find someone to explain to me how to use cubase. I agree southpaw, Boss is the bomb. Boss and Roland are made by the same company, so I would trust either. Has anyone had experience with the Audacity portable? Downloaded it the other day and put it on my exterior hard drive. Haven't had time to play with it yet. Can use it on anybodys computer without having to install it on there computer.

Hi Rich:

Here we go again! <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif" border=0 alt="Rolling Eyes">

Once more I'm about to aggravate the purists and serious players here who will inevitably say "practice practice practice", and they are of course correct.

Playing the full fingerings of any chord does indeed sound better, and I'm sure that with the recommended finger strengthening exercises and months of the aforementioned practice, practice, practice, most people could eventually play all the barred chords reasonably well.

If they did'nt first get frustrated to all get out and quit.

I'd be willing to bet that F and Bm and the rest of the barred chords have much to do with a lot of guitars gathering dust in unopened closets.

That being said, there are definitely easier ways to play F and Bm than the official and proper fingerings.

For those of us with no delusions of ever being Liona Boyd or Eric Clapton, F can be fingered 003211 with the first finger fretting e and b on the first fret , the index finger fretting g on the second and your ring finger fretting D on the third fret.

Bm can be done 004432 with first finger second fret e, index finger third fret b, ring finger fourth fret g and baby finger also on fourth fret but on the D string.

Yes I know that this isn't proper and that there are the dreaded open strings and that I will probably burn in Hell for attempting to seduce a beginner away from the pure and proper path to true guitar enlightenment, but to heck with it.

I play because I love to play and if making some chords easier, if less than perfect, keeps us amateurs pickin and grinnin rather than fumin and fussin and storing our guitars in the closet, then it's all good for me.

O.K. purists....let the Tunedeaf bashing begin! <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing">

Whoever told you those aren't proper are not being honest with you. You will find those chords in any book along with all those others. As a matter of fact, you will find those very forms in the chordie chord chart! You see professional artist use those forms all the time. just because there not full bar chords, doesn't make them wrong. The only difference between them is tonality, some songs sound better with the full bar, some sound better without! It's all a matter of choice.
See I'm not dogging you. all those ways are proper or they wouldn't be in the books!

I agree with malgwera, time to grow up and move on!!! Standard and tab both have there place in music. It's up to the individual to choose which one is right for them to learn with. I don't know how to read standard, but would really like to know how. So, can we get back to music theory? I have alot to learn, and would like to proceed! Please!!! because unlike some, I'm not a professional, but would like to get better!!

If you have the money, than I think a multi effects pedal is the way to go. Not only do you have muti effects (hence the name), but you can tweek the individual effects that make up the effects themselves. Be easier to create your own sound that way than trying to tweek the single effect pedal, which are very limited in that regard! JMO though.

I'm interested in contributing a song! One question. I don't have a band, so if I send a song, it will just be guitar and vocals. "In my mind", I'm not a very good singer. When you receive it, you can determine for yourself whether you want to use it or not.
