Sometimes it is natural talent or musical ability, along with having perfect pitch helps. Right now actually scientists are researching if musical ability is genetic in any way. But as for me, along with probably 99 percent of other guitar players, it's sweat, blood, and tears.

Not sure, but he's probably talking about a bass walk over a chord, seems quite common

Also check out Guitar Center's Used Site. used.guitarcenter.com

Bonham then Moon.

And good call moddish, Grohl does deserve a mention

How could I forget, Breaking Benjamin. Good band

AC/DC- Thunderstruck, Have a Drink on Me, Highway to Hell (actually about all ACDC and Zeppelin)
Chuck Berry- Johnny B Good
Cream- Sunshine of your Love
Dire Straits- Money for Nothing
Free- All Right Now
Guns N Roses- Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle
Jethro Tull- Aqualung
Almost any Hendrix song
Johnny Cash- Folsom Prison Blues
Elton John- Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting
Nirvana- Smells like teen Spirit
Steve Miller Band- Take the money and run
The Eagles- Life in the fast lane
ZZ Top- La grange

Check out the Foo Fighters, Stone Sour (a bit like Staind), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Velvet Revolver (Slash's new band), Audioslave. Unfortunately there isn't much good music being made anymore, but I hope this helps. Also a good old band I saw you didn't list is Thin Lizzy, check them out, especially the Cowboy Song, I think you'll enjoy it. Also, IMO Nirvana is grunge, not punk.

Sweet Home Alabama.

Influence wise, nope

Jimi Hendrix anyone? He was famous in London before America even though he's an American

If you want to take about "famous" as in the literal sense of the word, well-known, I'd probably go with FreeBird or Stairway to Heaven. Just my $0.02

Not the most famous rock song, just the most overplayed by guitarists

They also used the helicopter sound on a track on Dark Side of the Moon they created with a synthesizer. I think it was "On The Run". If anyone has VH1 Classic channel always check out the classic albums, really good stuff. Dark Side of the Moon is on there and shows how they made the whole album.

Little Wing by Hendrix. One of these days

I'm 20, old enough to do nothing but suffer a year. Go to college in Ohio, want to go to Optometry school afterwards. I've been playing about 6 months and can't get enough... although I don't have much time anymore and my playing is grinding to a halt... Pre-Prof Biology isn't a good major for free time.

I play an acoustic Fender, never had any problems. Back of the neck gets a little slow when dirty, but that's it

Also see how the angle of the pick hitting the strings affects tone.

Upyerkilt you've got an eerily good voice for covering Pink Floyd. One of these days I'll post some videos on YouTube, but as of right now all I've got is the video camera on my phone.

Guitarpix what kind of guitar are you playing? It's sharp

Pretty sure though the song is in standard tuning with all the strings are tuned down half a step, pretty sure Nirvana does it for all their songs

go spend some time listening to your favorite cd's, then figure out what song you want to learn. that's what I do when I get stuck in a rut

I was learning to play a song and came across a couple chords I can't quite figure out.

How am I supposed to barre these while holding up two frets on high E and the A string? Thanks in advance.
