really embarrasing but the first song i bought was that frog song paul mccartney had out in the eightes i was only about 5 or 6 years old, and saved my lunch money for school to get it, i can still hear my favourite bit of the song now as im typing away, bom bom bom baaaeeeaaa. cant remember the name of it though.
my first album was bob dylans greatist hits when i was 10 got it in a jumble sale of all places and bought it because my dad used to talk about him and i wanted to know what the fuss was, my what a fuss!!

i love the words in the first verse, seems like a wee song of a lost love and reminiscing about it. it kind of reminds me of this other song ......... only joking lol. do you know how to use the voodoo tool to insert chords and chord boxes etc, this can bring it to life, see the post at the top of the songwriting forum if ya need any help just holler and someone will assist.

Re: orphan boy (10 replies, posted in Songwriting)
thanks phil i damaged my `johnny cash ` middle finger at work so i cant play its such a pain, i have written a few songs and played them , only been learning guitar for a year now and i am coming on so my friends say. but the biggest thing for me is not that my stuff may sound like someone else b(ecause its really hard to write stuff that hasnt already been done by someone else) but to get the stuff in my head out onto a platform were people can hear what i am doing, which can be a struggle but is very rewarding.
old doll has done this with another song i wrote i guess we must has the same sort of music likes or maybe she can see simialarities in my stuff to others that have produced the goods.
thanks again for the encouragement it means a lot.

Re: song stealing (10 replies, posted in Songwriting)
i couldnt care less if anyone nicked my songs {not that they are any good} but the fact that someone would go to those lengths to use your music is a victory ,then you know that what your doing is appreciated.no one on chordie is in it for the money but for the love of expressing yourself through the medium of music.

Topic: nowhere (0 replies, posted in Songwriting)
heres another one.
Nowhere
At the breath of dawn I open my eyes
You are there that’s no surprise
All that morning you’ll sleep away
As I arise for another day
Your day of rest is everyday
I don’t know how you went this way
Looking at you in your bed
I could cry but laugh instead
I am on the train and going nowhere
But i am so happy that you are not there.
I’m moving on and not coming back
Ill start afresh on another track
It felt so good but also sad
But leaving you makes me feel glad
I’m on the train and going nowhere
But i am so happy that you are not there.
I can’t stand your awkward ways
No more for me I am on way
So don’t expect me home tonight
Ill be off on this morning light
Im on the train and going nowhere
But I am so happy that you are not there.

Topic: Yesterdays sorrows (0 replies, posted in Songwriting)
i have a few songs i have written that dont have any chords cos i cant use my guitar broke my johnny cash finger at work, ouch. so if any you guys feel they are worthy please add music to them.
Yesterday’s Sorrows
She is waiting for the sunlight
She is waiting for it to turn to night
She is waiting for yesterday’s sorrows
With eyes wet big and bright
She has waited for yesterday’s sorrows
To catch up to her mind
Make believe in her sorrows
Can’t be right all of the time
Her mind has broken with the anger
Her mind has broken with the pain
Her mind has gone all to pieces
And never shall be the same again
Yesterdays sorrows send her spinning in the dark
Yesterdays sorrows leave her empty as the park
Yesterdays sorrows were all that she had
Yesterdays sorrows have all made her sad.
