Don't sweat it man. That's what the forum is for.

If it looks like this:

e---------------------

b---------------------

g---------------------

d---------------------

a--3------------------

e--2------------------

then you play them at the same time.

If like this:

e--------------------

b--------------------

g--------------------

d--------------------

a----3---------------

e-2------------------

then you play the a after the e.

Cool?

Edgefan,

From my understanding, the Epi LP's pick-ups are a bit more quality than what's on the Special model. If you like a lighter guitar, then the SG may be your answer. The SG is as light as a Fender Stratocaster, but has a bit warmer tone. The Epi LP, although a bit lighter the the Gibson (25 lbs) model, still has some weight to it. You'll need to get a nice padded strap to hold it up. Others may have more info, but that's what my understanding is. Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with my Epi LP Studio. I'll need to save up for a Gibson in the future.

I got the Epi LP Special player pack a few months back because I wanted something inexpensive to learn on in case I didn't like playing the guitar. It turns out that I love playing. When I look to upgrade, what's the difference between the Special and the other Epi LP models that you guys have mentioned?

Suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. I just started playing the guitar about three months ago at the age of 40. Practicing evey day and loving every minute of it (not trying to sound like a Loverboy song).

I suffer from this problem too. Everly actually makes a pick with the hole already in it, no burning required. Star Grip Picks.

I used to wonder the same thing. I'm 40 and just decided to start in December. I'm banging out some clunkers still but I'm having fun. If it's something you want to do then do it regardless of how old you are.

I just got this same guitar for Christmas and I really like it. Actually the guitar was part of a player pack that came with a small amp, tuner, strap etc. I wanted something inexpensive to learn on and this was a great deal for a beginner like me. Maybe a real Gibson Les Paul when I get better. Good luck.
