Cant you get this up by clicking a users name? This interface is slightly different when you are an administrator.

Very strange. I can not understand why this is happening. Are you able to reproduce this error?

If you are, I will have to increase the amount of available memory here (thought it already was very high)

Never heard about that problem before. It is great if you send me an url where it can be reproduced and a screenshot. admin@chordie.com

Note that this appears only after you have manually activated the "edited artist page".

As an editor, you can add preferred versions of a song to the list. After you have done this, activate the page and only one version of each song will show.

OK. Ive seen a screenshot of this. What is happening is that when the ad disappears (ad blocker or no-javascript), the layout get messed up.

I am actually doing a change on this page in a few days that will replace this ad. This should also solve this problem. To solve it instantly: turn on javascript, or off adblocker.

Are you using any ad blocking software, or are javascript turned off?

Try reloading the page. The stylesheet has been updated, and there might be some caching issues. However they should disappear if you press "reload".

Good luck with the new forum!

It is really fantastic if you make tutorials as the ones you are suggesting. If you do this, please consider marking the threads by using something like "TUTORIAL: title..." in the title. After posting it, you have (as an administrator) the option of making it "sticky". That way it always stays on top of the list.

You are ahead of me, Ken. You responded before I was able to announce it..:)

Enjoy the new forum!

There will be several great news for iTouch/iPhone-users very soon. Most of it is completed already, but it will take a few weeks until the official release...

It is just a technical limit. I have to avoid somebody trying to put all 1.000.000 of Chordie's songs into one songbook and print it.

If anybody thinks 100 is too little, I can increase this. However most complaints about this seem to be from people that doesnt know it is possible to create multiple songbooks.

This is very high up on my todo-list. You should really be able to add songs to your own songbook. The only problem is that you can publish these songbooks as well, and then Chordie is violating the principle about not hosting songs.

But... I am thinking of a way to work around this issue. And most likely this problem will be solved in a few months.

... A small workaround that should work. If you are able to host the song online (there are multiple services, including a Google service, that will do this for free), you can use the Chordie Chordpro Renderer for formatting/printing. Try this syntax:

http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/my_server.com/my_directory/my_file.chopro

...just replace the my_server/directory/file with the correct address. Tell me if you are able to get this to work.

remove all songs. Then it can be deleted.

Thanks for trying to add Chordie, but it seems like Wikipedia has deleted Chordie three times already ("non significant web site"). I can not add this myself, but if any of the users wants to, here are some facts that might convince the Wikipedia admins of its significance:

Chordie has about 170.000 registered members
Chordie is built as a search engine, and formats lyrics/chords "on the fly".
Chordie has been online since 25-Oct-2002
While most chord/tab-sites just present tabs/chords in plain text, Chordie is based on the chopro-format, and formats the songs
Chordie was the first site to introduce graphical chord grids
Chordie was the first site allowing you to transpose the song
Chordie was the first site to allow you to change the instrument (Uke, banjo etc)

Any other ideas?

good idea. Ill look into it.

If you find problems that seems to be consistent over multiple songs, please send an email to admin@chordie.com. If I have 2-3 songs with the same problem, I am most likely able to fix it.

Send an email to me (admin@chordie.com). Tell me what songs does not add to your songbook. I need the url.

Then I will fix it.

This was probably related to a javascript thing I tried. It is disabled now. It will be tested before I put it online again.

I have to find another way to generate this list. How often do you think it should update? Maybe it could be divided into "hot this year" and "hot today"?

Thanks. It is added to my todo-list...

Very strange. Ive gotten a couple of these complaints. A few changes lately in javascript stuff. Might have messed things up. Please retry now.

Anybody else experiencing this? I am unable to reproduce it.

The problem was just temporary. Errors from people being on (non-redirected) pages, clicking redirected urls. Got a few hundred errors, but it has stopped now. Thanks a lot, Scott.

There was a couple of restarts some minutes ago. Should be stable now.
