I have been working on this riff for a while, and finally put some of it down, two diff versions of same thing, but one is a little better with the feel and the lead licks.

That was fun, i left you a comment

BILL,
Ok you know this is coming from the Metalizer, so keep in mind, I am not sure which thump you are referring to, but in my kind of heavy rock (really getting going in the 80s and fwd) speed metal is very attached to the drums.  My youngest showed me this just last night, I have to admit that this band had to grow on me, but it is the drummer  and guitarist from LAMB OF GOD.   here they work hand in hand.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw7zYploBLc
hope you like it (no screaming vocals).

GROW THAT THUMB NAIL and clear coat the heck out of it for strength. I bet my ceramic coat would be amazing.  My son, whom I have mentioned, has taken to growing his right hand nails for guitar.  I dont mind, but told him he needs to let mom file and shape  them.

I just dont have any lyrics coming to me lately,,,  I do have another cool riff I'm working on. its in E and has a old spaghetti western vibe to it.  I have misplaced my phone recorder, and still need to hook up my mixer and mic for any real recording.  will try and get it up soon.

But if you watch "THE COBBLER" you learn that pickels are what preserves you! LOLOL

The only way to play Friends in low places is with a room full of drunks to sing the chorus,,,,Hmmm I might be able to arrange that! LOLOL

Best free and easiest chat is FB and you dont have to maintain it and you can invite members into a single chat.  or just use Google chat from your mail.  you can set up a fake mail for free.(heck I have like 6 accounts, maintain 3 and the rest are for junk mail)

Never saw any reply as to what the outcome of this was, I looked into a generator for back up power, You can saw what you want but the 2 big ones from Harbor freight get really reliable ratings and one guy , if you are to believe the long write up he did, said he is an engineer and tested the power coming out of the one he had and said it stays pretty clean.  Harbor Freight stuff is a good deal if you do your research on the reviews and listen to the ones that seem to repeat (like "Use of STA-BIL in the gas is a must if not running very often" "get the wheel kit" and "starts great on 1st or second pull, but battery would be nice too")
They can power houses pretty good with the pigtail to the main, and you cant beat the cost of them either. look for the sales.

I have lately been getting spammed in my sound cloud account, just got this today :

Hey,
AmaliaBarrett59796 sent you a message:

What Amy said! I had to just delete the thing out of my computer and re-download it.  I have also ran my Studio mic into my mixer and into the puter, but running one direct will work also with a adapter from 1/4 to 1/8th to the mic jack or if you have a USB mic it will pick it up, look in your skype sound settings to choose which one you want it to run with.

I will probably use camera mic but sing through my effects boxes into the monitor cab I have (No auto tune for me, so anything to enhance my voice!)

Most webcams have built in mics, they are good enough for this purpose. So if we are looking at 4pm my time, this Saturday is definitely out, I have a big detail paint correction job, however IF I get done in time, I can just text whoever in a mass text and let them know.  Sunday is probably out as the job I am doing wont start till "after church" for the customer, so 12ish to 1ish for a start time, my hope is 2.5 hours, but usually its about 4 (this is a free one they won, so not a DEEP clean, more of a spritzing.)

So, even If I asked for your numbers in the past (Amy, Jeff, and Z) if everyone can Private Message me either from the Chordie mail or FB, I can send a mass text.  By God we can make this happen smile My camera in the man cave shoots to a nice corner with the drums in it.  We may have noise of BATTLEFIELD WW1 going on in the back as my boys are plenty addicted to it right now LOL.  They have headphones they can use, maybe they will even join in. Cade wont sing though, Cory may start beating the drums.  We shall see.

OK get the numbers to me and I will just keep in mind that 3 to 5 is the best window from my time zone.

Friday night, got home from work, about 11:00, youngest son was still up,  tried to watch something with him, but was blinking out.  to bed around probably 12:30 or so. Woke up at 5 AM, and had a nice morning reading, and chilling with my wife. So whats this to do with anything? Nothing  LOLOL just felt like putting a blog type post up, YET in so doing we made a few steps further to making the house a home.  Primary Objective - Get the blinds  my wife had made  (etsy in canada,  i think), and have been siting in the middle of the floor for 3 months,  up in the man cave.  At first I was not sure it was a good fit, nor did I like the area rug that is down here, but after we got everything up, and cleaned up, Well  even though we still have some stuff to do, IT LOOKS WAY BETTER!.  Even the rug is grown on me LOL.

On a musical note, I hooked up my Mic to a little amp and ran it through my tow stomp pedals (compressor and digital delay). it really sounds good, nice balance between the delay sounding too delayed, and sorta fakes a reverb smile.  So I have started practicing my vocals for the Song of the month.

Ok well just wanted to ramble LOL

Thanks guys, He has a american Tele that I am waiting to try out, and a 15 W Orange tube amp smile YEA!
BGD it is actually the perfect stop on the way to PK. (as everyone calls it) there is also a great pay lake /camp ground called UNKS LAKE, man made lake but stream fed.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHOaidbXfnk

If you are in Mineral Wells around lunch time you have to go to THE BLACK HORSE CAFE they are only open for lunch but really good!  and for fun of just digging around all kinds of stuff, there is GARRETS pawn shop. its huge! and all kinds of stuff, the tool crib downstairs is just crazy, they carry guitars and new and old, and just about anything you can think of. always fun to waste some time in. (then there is the whole block of his warehouse that is full of all kinds of stuff too but you  have to ask about what he has there.)

OH ZURF its also the lake  from which the band The Toadies  took its name and the lake refered to in their biggest hit.  (They were from Dallas)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkwD5rQ-_d4

That's great man. One of the things I hated about living in Vegas is that the neighborhoods weren't very neighborly. I moved around the same time you did and can tell you that TX is a lot different in NV. Very friendly neighbors. Now I just gotta find some musicians!

Well out where you are,,, you might get lucky.but if you go to the Dallas music scene, Two bands to check out, an they have been mentioned on my post before, are THE DANGITS  and MISSEL.  A very cool place to visit for some BBQ and good music is called THE FOUNDRY since thats what it used to be. and right up the road is a way cool old hotel called The Belmont.  If your in the pool, it looks over the Dallas down town and so does the outdoor bar.  (Its also the headquarters for the Rockers and Mods rally every year wink

a couple local favorites out towards you and where I used to live are also Jimmy Baldwin, and Stan Crawford.  Cool Texas is the home of KC James, AI winner a few yrs ago.
and if you like bog old buildings, its worth the drive into mineral wells to walk around the Baker hotel and the Crazy water hotel, and stop at Downtown video for some Jitter bean coffee and see the plans for the hopeful restoration of the Baker.  Tell Laura and Brian your friends with me.  they watched our kids grow up over the years.

well that got off track but....

As you all know, i have been in this new house roughly 4 or so months , and two houses around the to the left of me I have a new neighbor also.  A few weeks ago I  briefly introduced myself, but tonight i was sitting on the front porch after work, and he gets home about 45 min after I do,  i walked up with a 6 pack of Shinerbock  and said,  " hey  how are ya, you want a beer?"  Now I have a great neighbor named Joe. He also works at Boeing, likes dark beer and red beer, plays guitar and keys, writes music scores, and produces video.and photography.   We ended up in my basement  and just forgot to really play, but instead got to know each other and shared favorite music vids.  This link is one he produced for a local band, and he  has won  some awards. for it,  its country so most of you will enjoy it LOL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F-DAW84hNA

He said for the price of beer and bbq he is going to do some great shots of me detailing this Saturday.  I also told him if he can help me get a great ad vid, he never has to worry about his car again.
hope you enjoy the vid, and I certainly have enjoyed meeting Joe, also trying to get him to to join chordie.
