Gidday
On a recent post MKM mentioned how we in different countries have a different take on words.
As my explanation of DAG went down so well.
thought i`d try another one on you `guitars in the boot`
where do u think the guitar is?
also many years ago our top country singer went to America,he had to change his name though.
his name was John Hore

yeah stick me in the hat

Ricky
well you asked for it!
A dag is the poo that gets stuck on the wool around a sheeps arse!
Yes true!!!!
But some how a dag has also come to mean `bit of a character`
Peatle is the second one.

Peatle & i swap songs between us for a critique.
We agreed to be honest with each other.
But we also offer each other encouragement.
No song is all bad, there`s ALWAYS good bits whether it be a particular line or phrase,
Progression /style/vocal/guitar sound.
So yeah if a songs just not working a new pair of ears is great.
thanks Phill,i will take you up on that offer of help.
I have written a song i like, but can`t get past my first take on it,it needs a fresh look.

Gidday All
been a while since i posted.although i still been following & enjoying everyones music.
i`ve had a crisis of confidence, been writing stuff but haven`t felt confident to put it out there.
I don`t know if any of you have this problem? I really enjoy writing, but have become very critical of myself.

Gidday Ed.
Yeah i play a bit of social uke.
I think a concert or even tenor size are better.
It`s more of an instrument less a toy.
most ukes are good but you get what u pay for.
i`d stay away from the cheapest ones though
as a beginners needs to have a fair shot @ learning.
If u buy a good uke @ least it is saleable later if
it gets grown out of or not used.

Not the same without you here Bill.

Great versions Ricky & Grah
my own opinion is that there are two types of covers.
covers are different to copies.
a copy is basically the same as the original.
a cover is where an artist adds their signature to the song.
You guys have delivered great covers.
thanks.EB

Here`s a song i just banged out,it`s about all kinds of artists
painting/music/performance etc.
About having doubts of your ability.I have spoken to many
people on this subject and it seems very common.
Good to see i`m not alone in this, how about you?

Go Peatle
First cover for the month.Come on the rest of ya!
Looking forward to what ya got.

Excellent,it`s no mean feat to do a song voice & guitar for 5 mins.
well done.

Great to have some electric guitar playing on Chordie.

All the covers are good in their own way.
Great to see several versions.
Non are the best or worst they are just different, which is how it should be.

Considering your style  i think maybe
I hear you knocking    Dave Edmunds
The price of love   Status Quo & others
i see u already got a` mcguinees flint` song   how about `malt & barley blues.`

Glad u liked this poem.
I`m not very keen on it myself. All that rhyming cheapens
the real sentiment.
This is quite different from my first write.
But hey, Chordians like a good rhyme.

TF did a great poem  `Be it resolved` would love to hear others take on this.

MKM
it wasn`t very good,so only sent it to jan.Wanted to show her i`d taken up her challenge.

Gidday Jan
not many chordians have taken you up on the idea.
Thats a shame as i think it`s a great idea challenging others to have a crack @ a nominated song.
So i`ve banged a version out.
It`s nothing like yours at all,i like to take a song somewhere  else.
I did a kinda swamp rock feel to it

Cheap Thrills
Skill with ya hands
Will slowly disappear
Craftsmen and trades
No longer be here
Cheap imports have taken their toll
Loss of jobs.. shed of tear
Can`t be blamed for saving a buck
Replace ..not repair
Bottom line the sole requirement
Quality and craftmanship
Relegated to history
That`s just the way it goes
Don`t have to look far everyone knows
We are all guilty of this demise
