I would add "Autumn Leaves" to your two and you have 3 absolutely wonderful covers by Eva. I absolutely love her acoustic guitar playing also.
Roger Guppy wrote:Two song I could never imagine ever being performed better than the original:
"Over The Rainbow" - Judy Garland
"Fields Of Gold" - Sting
That was until Eva Cassiday sang them.
Thanks Russ,
I was just playing it again and notice that I also use my index finger to up strum as I'm switching chords alot. I think the song sounds good however you strum or pick it,the fretting hand seems to be more important.I never had the opportunity to take lessons and I've had to undo alot of bad habits as I go,but I have alot of fun!
Hello Everyone,
I had a couple people email me and wanted me to do a closeup vid and tips on "Hello In There" by John Prine.I know I don't pick it right pattern wise but I have done it this way so long I am not changing today anyway.

Hey Pix,
How do I post some pics.Remember I am old and slow and It took me a year to figure out how to post some vids on youtube.
I would love to play your yairi's,I think my yairi is one of the finest guitars as far as detail and quality of workmanship. The small body won't stand up to jumbos and dreads but what a nice guitar plugged. Are the necks on your yairi's fast and smooth?
Hey Russ,
I think you have a very good list there. How you coming with the new pedal?
Thank You,Roger
Now the kids can get back to practicing, instead of messing around!
Hello and Welcome,
I have played with alot of folks that have had rhythm problems and some people have a built in metronome and tap their foot bounce their knee, shake their head or some other way to keep the beat.
I've found it is easier to help people in 4/4 time to get them to count in beats of 4 or if you have a strum pattern use your voice to say down and down or down, and down,up,down.Or maybe bass, strum, bass ,strum it will come and there are alot of tricks to use.All your ands have no strums and the downs are all on the beat.Start slow and work yourself into a pattern.
Thank you,Roger
For some reason, when I think of the title, the song "If Not For You" by Bob Dylan pops in my head.I think that's probably why I messed the title up.Anyway thanks,I was just wondering what people thought before I put too much time and effort in.On the verses I went from 4 to 3 chords and added some walks and hammerons. The chords are AM DM EM for the verses and F G C AM
on the chorus.
Thanks,Russ and Kenny
I'm not too good at recording, so I have just been experimenting. The mic I'm using is a Shure KSM-27 Condensor Mic.
Shure has a new mic that replaces this one,so I picked one up because they are discounting them from $300. down to $200. till they are sold out.
Any way I have my mic plugged into my Vocal 4 harmonizer and guitar is run thru it too, then they go into my acoustic amp inputs.I then have my camcorder plugged in to the line out on the back of my acoustasonic that has a level control.
Oh,one more thing, this mic needs phantom power and the digitech vocal 4 has it so I have to use it with this mic whether I use the effects or not.
Howdy,
I was messin around today and started workin on a song by Roger.I am just in the process and am workin on an intro and some other things.I changed the chords a little to give the verses a minor tone and kept the chorus pretty much the same.

Just a couple verses but you can kinda get the feel. Sorry Roger ,I didn't get the title right on the thread. **but luckily I can Roger**
Heya Zurf,
I think your friends will feel more at home with a yard that has a little character.
Have a good one!!!
Yes that is the best seasoning you can buy "Tony Chachere"s Original Creole Seasoning in the green can.It is available here at most of the grocery stores and Walmart.I have tried some of the other flavors but the original is the best.We use it on everything, when cooking with it use some care it may get to hot for some folks.
The first time I was introduced to it was back in my drinking days,I was sitting on a barstool in New Orleans and drinking a Bloody Mary to get the day started and could not believe the wonderful flavor.I asked the barmaid for her secret and she brought out the Tony's container and said this is the stuff.
My family is hooked on it and we use it on nearly everything, except when we're having guests over,I tend to like things spicier than some.
I don't like to compare musicians I have so many I love and respect. It is a gift to be musically creative and the ones that make an impact all seem to have a style all their own. Even if I don't like someones style I respect them.I can copy alot of folks by covering their songs but when you start trying to put a song together with some hooks, great lyrics and riffs and good rhythm it is a very tough deal.
"It's a long way to the top if you wanna Rock'n Roll"
Like his voice or not,Bob Dylan is a very creative writer and musician and has givin alot to his generation.
Here all along I thought Jim Morrison was THE GOD OF HELL FIRE!!!
Here"s a couple Jeff,
These are after the kids are tucked in songs. The Rodeo Song is here on chordie,I don't know about Boys from Oklahoma.
The Rodeo Song takes some practice singing,it has some fast tongue tieing lyrics ,so you have to do it before getting too messed up.

Hello,
I go to my songbooks, and go to the view & print button and save my songbook once I have it saved. I go to the folder in my documents or whatever you send it to.I then right click on it and open properties and select open with microsoft Word. Then I can make heading changes and so on and it is saved, without having to be online.
Tops,
There ain't much that gets by you is there? But I was thinkin the same thing, but i don't like to insult a fellar after he just helped me out.
Thanks alot Pix,I'll give that a try.
Heya Pix,
I will have to check that out,I am not to good with computers and gadgets but I'll bet I can figure it out in time.It took me forever to figure out the program I use for vids but it was worth the effort. I am still working on the audio on my vids and just can't seem to get them right.I have some new ideas I'm gonna try today.
Thanks for the Tip,
Hello Everyone,
I just got an email from my Daughter and she wants to take another stab at playing guitar.I think she must be serious this time, she's getting her fake nails taken off.I started her with lessons with an instructor about 11 yrs ago, she's 21 now.
A couple months ago I sent her guitar home with her and a tuner and all the accessories she needed and she never mentioned anything about being interested till now.She has a couple of friends that are very good musicians and she must have got the bug.
It comes really easy for her and she wants me to help her so that is kinda flattering, but in my excitement to help I don't want to scare her away.
We live almost 400 miles apart so when she lets me know where she wants to start I am gonna do some things on Youtube and through emails to help her as much as I can. What a wonderful tool computers, internet and youtube can be it sure does shorten up distances.
I have a few videos on youtube and what has been the most surprising and pleasant is the many nice comments, especially from folks from across the pond.It sure opens your eyes to the world.
Thank You,
I use a capo alot and what I use it for is to get the key of a song to get in my vocal range.I usually find that the key of G is to high and I usually capo at the 2nd for key of A or 3rd for Bb or 4th fret for B.When a song is in the Key of D as a rule I find capo 1st or second work the best. If a song is in C it's kinda the same thing.
So just for a reference I usually do songs In A ,Bb and D# & E I can't do many in G or C or D.Everyone has a different range and you will have to find your sweet spot.
If you are playing with others at a jam,and it's your turn. Put your capo on and play it to match your voice,if some of the others don't have a capo they will have to transpose it or sit it out.The lead players will know what you are doing. It is too hard to play in a key that doesn't work for your voice and it never works.
Normally I don't capo above the 5th fret, but that's just me.I have a friend that transposes what I'm doing and plays way up the neck with a capo.
The minor keys are kinda the same way for me although Am I can usually do about anywhere with or without the capo.
Em not so , usually 2nd or 3rd fret about the same as it's major relative G.
Hope this makes some sense.
Another thing it could be is the "Muffler bearing exhaust gasket" if you have high humidity.

Excellent point. How does something like that become currency or collateral?
Very valuable to me,and I know the Devil will take them as collateral also.
Yes she is so sweet! And if I could play slide like her I'd give up a left one.
Hey Nela,
Please keep us posted on how your doing and if your able to play your guitar play.I went thru a traumatic experience ten years ago and without my guitar I don't think I would have made it.You probably already know it is the best stress reliever.
Good Luck and Take Care,
