Neo - One of my fave songs of all time--    you did it very nicely !   You are so calm and relaxed when you play - i wish I could be as such - I always get so nervous when I record or play in front of someone.

Thank you ... it's always interesting to hear others views - I'm usually nervous, but less so in front of the camera than in front of people smile

I remember one time a woman said the same yhing to me; it was just after I was recording an acoustic song for the "Bert Newton's Good Morning Australia" (as I think it was called then) - the studio of Channel 10 was recording me in Perth for the Melbourne show (which airs nationally), and I was sat in a largish room on a stool, and these two big TV camera's were being dolly'd around the room, one guy on the camera, and one guy on the dolly. It was just after my duo had broken up, and I wasn't used to singing (prior to the duo, I used to sing, but was out of practice) - anyhow, I remember being in this big fairly bare room, and playing Margaret's Eulogy - and concentrating on some guitar bit, when I looked up and the guy had the camera right in my face ... when I get nervous my left leg tends to bounce up and down - and boy did it start bouncing then, but I managed to pull through it and I'm sure I started to sweat up a storm. Anyway, song over, I went back to the green room and the lady there said "wow, you looked so calm and relaxed", and I just smiled.

Once you can fake confidence, you can do it again smile

Cheers

Richard (sorry for the rambling story!)

My son has music in his curriculum, but he gets frustrated with it, as he does it as an after-school subject (so the school one is quite basic for him), I'll check if he does singing in the class as well ... here he sings one of my songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ol3RqE0lA4 but I think it's because he's grown up with it ...

Comments appreciated, thanks (good or bad) smile

Loved the picture that goes with it!!! smile

The song is pretty good - I like the additional drum/(cajon drum?) that you added in - I've gotta say, it's a bit odd hearing a female sing it, but I'd also add that it's possibly the best song of yours ... smile

"That`s entertainment" a song once again I don`t know personally but I never listened to punk type music much anyway.  So I popped on to listen to the original and you did a good job of covering it.

Thanks ...

Your song "All`s not fair in Love and War", that`s so well written.  You seem to have a talent for writing songs.  Great lyrics smile

Thank you, the original recording of this song is here ... with drums, keyboards, and when I could sing better smile

neo ..... wow, you have done heaps once again.  I am jealous and wish I could get to even one song at the moment smile  I listened to them all tonight and once again I applaud you for the amount of songs you manage to perform and cover.  White Rabbit, Golden Brown and Fields of Gold I must confess I don't know those songs at all (where have I been all my life: lol).   But very good guitar work on them all, especially on White Rabbit.  Liked the little touch once again with your filming, on Golden Brown changing from yellow to blurred natural light.  Fields of Gold had lots of reverb, so your mixing things up and changing things around for each song.
Black Magic woman was catchy to listen to and suited the lead guitar.
Green Green grass of home, an oldy but a goodie.  I wondered if this song was a little bit deep for your voice and wondered if a different chord might suit you better so you didnt have to sing so low???
Behind Blue Eyes, a great song and I enjoyed it.  I had to laugh at your son and his cracker photo bomb of your video haha smile

Thanks for the feedback, yes, Green grass is on the list to do again, in a different key smile

I was also wondering if a person could run one Xvive setup from guitar > effects array, and then another from the effects array > amp?

I've also wondered this - I've got a Line6 wireless for my electric and then thought, "this is no good, wires still connect the effects to the amp!!!" ....

Anyway ... smile

Heh, I know local artist Dave Warner did a cover of it in the 70's/80's and was quite popular in Australia ... that was the first time I heard it, and it suited his style of music so I was surprised to find in my teens it was a cover. I used o go around to my friends place, and we'd do our homework, then listen to loads of music ...

The guitar is a Maton EBG808CL ... one of the earlier models, they then renamed it "Performer", now I think it's an "SRS" ... this was the closest I could find:

https://maton.com.au/product/the-2015-performer

Mine is an '04 model, which I upgraded the tuners, the pins, the bridge and a few other things over the years ...

Interested to see how it goes, I've always been curious about doing this to find the chords to some obscure Australian and West Australian bands ...

Going for the dreaded B chord this weekend. There's a song called Spiders and Snakes and it's A,E,A,E all the way through until it gets to the bridge and there it is: B. My plan is to master it until my fingers turn to shreds. Oh, yeah. I transposed it from the original.

Thanks

Bill

Hi Bill ... here's how I have to play a B. My long thick fingers will not fit three-aside on the strings, except on a classical with a 2" nut. So I simply barre the D, G, and B strings in the 4th fret with the ring finger, and the rest with the index. My one variation of this picture is that I turn the knuckle on my ring finger backwards a bit, so that the barred E-string still sounds the F#. It's dead simple, and really fast for transitioning to and from other chords ... give it a whirl.

Yep, that's how I do a 'B' too!!

Thanks for that - I had to do a search as I wasn't familiar with the name; now I'll do more research smile

Nice song, Neo ... very good! It reminds me somewhat of Gordon Lightfoot's "In the Early Morning Rain", which is (wait for it) almost as good as yours!

Thanks - I recently picked up an old Gordon Lightfoot music book, so I'll have to check out if that song is in it; I must confess I just know a couple of his songs ("If you could read my mind" and "Sundown"), but I like what I hear ...
