1. Watch your hands. You'll hear yourself then.
2. Do you play seated? If so, use a left hand stand (like the classical players) and put the guitar on your left thigh. That will get your instrument closer to your head. Lean your head over and you can hear it.

Although Bill's point might be a bit obfuscated by his sarcasm, he's right on. Breath control is extremely important. During music school we did a lot of work on this - voice majors had to take classes in it.

There are some other tips that help, such as opening the throat, dropping the jaw and relaxing while you "dump" air in to your lungs, and also a few vocal techniques that help with breath management. But if you don't have the capacity you are going to be stuck with short, choppy phrasing.

Hmm... that sounds like a lot of extra work I wouldn't have thought necessary.  smile  In my world, it would have been a simple - everyone contributes, someone burns cds, someone makes some cool cover art, someone sets up an online market to sell them.

Producer, lawyer, publisher... it's all over my head!  LOL!

Yeah seems a bit taking the fun out, honestly.

You don't want a fun custom title?  Or do you just not like the "extraordinaire" part?

What about just "Musicator?" lol

Bumping this thread.

Who is interested in an early October trip to Las Vegas for some jamming? I'm thinking the weekend of October 9, 10, and 11.

There's "something" going on in Vegas that weekend, although I have no idea what it is. Rooms are a bit more expensive than usual but they aren't too bad. There's a Hampton Inn near me that's $100 bucks a night when it's normally $80.

Jeff, others? If we get a few of y'all together I can get a group rate.

I don't travel as much as Mojo (wtf do you do for work????), but between having a wife and baby that live 4 hours away half the time and work travel, I have gone as many as 6 weeks on the road with less than 3 days at home. Destroys my ability to really rest. The only thing that helps? Guitar. Even when I'm tired and don't feel like it. smile

I started playing full size when I was 6. I would probably just do that.

No need to apologize. Apparently it's a custom made hybrid type situation.

As an clearly underinformed mod, I think maybe we have an issue with posting of lyrics and chords on the site, correct? Isn't that why we're a repository and not a host? Roger?

I do believe that tiny guitar is actually a mandolin.

Here's the fella you're thinking of.

That's excellent

As usual, I agree with Zurf.

Licensing for these things is cheap.  Used to do it all the time.  Once we have a song list together I can investigate licensing for those who may want to contribute a cover.

After some research, and regardless of the capo he's playing G (thumb is fretting the bass note), hammer on C, then Csus to C. Then the b section is C / riff/ d / C add9.

And yes TF I'm close...I can play it fine now, just getting the vocal phrasing dialed in.

I've moved on to Neon. Another BEAST. And the first time I've ever played in drop C.
