Hey Roger, that pic reminds me of that film clip of Jimmy Page playing skiffle back in the 50's.
It also brought back my memory of spending all my pocket money trying to win a Beatles plastic guitar in1963 at the Aberafon fun fair. I didn't of course. Come to think of it, it could have been Porth Cawl?

I've just realised this year is my 50th anniversary for buying my first guitar! It cost £5 and I paid weekly at 5 shillings a week. I don't know what happened to it and to be honest I don't care as it was rubbish. It took me another 2 years to buy my next one which was slightly better and yet another 2 years before I got my first electric, a Zenta which was a waste of wood. I now have 8 guitars which are good yet not very expensive, I couldn't afford a Taylor even if Ann would let me have one. Or one of those new Fender Stratacoustics, which I'd love, but hey ho cant be greedy?

Peatle...
I always pictured New Zealand as the land of milk and honey. Hobbits and people running round making Beatles documentaries!
This poem is frightening! The victim is a preditor while the killer maybe one of the victims?
A great piece of writing, you got into their heads. Bravo.

Two brilliant quotes in this thread: know when to say when, and Zurf's why should I care what you think!

I've learned a lot. Thanks

I remember looking for the link but couldn't find it. I found it now of course and I'm shocked at how it describes some people I know or once knew. I hope I'm not a narcissist, but I think I have some of the tendencies...as I said I know people that fall completely into that category.
Thanks for the eye-opener.

Deep contemplation there master Beamer! The internet is good and bad, thrilling and exciting yet dangerous and decietful! Especially for kids. And grown ups too, how many times have they tried to scam you? Just check out how much spam we get here.
Your words fall together nicely. Well done.

I just wanted you to know that I read every word of your post, I admit I didn't understand some of it but I did identify myself in the greater part. there is a quote; "never say never", which is what I fall back on when someone does the dirty on me, eg, I'll never use that airline again, I'll never drink at that pub again, well thing is you, me all of us may need to fly with them or be desperate for a large beer or just need someone to talk to, to unload so to speak. That's why we're here.

Sadly it's the same for the Welsh language. My father and both my grandmothers spoke Welsh to me and I went to Welsh schools. My kids couldn't be bothered to learn the language until my daughter got to age 21 and decided she would go to night school to learn to speak it. Subsequently sending her youngest daughter to a Welsh school and she's getting on fine at nearly 8 years.
My language  almost got wiped out by the English when Welsh was outlawed in schools and in public. In the 1960's there was a big revival as Welsh or more relevantly Celtic was understood to be the predominant language in Europe and Wales was the only country where it was used on a daily basis. The language even being older than Latin. Scotland and Ireland also have versions of the Celtic language, and is used hopefully enough to keep the language alive.
Rugby is the great unifier, all the violence is on the field (unlike football) and Wales and New Zealand and also Fiji are brothers of the oval ball.

I could be wrong and probably am, but to me that was a bit of Mississippi blues? Your singing and playing were excellent and give Maree a big pat on the back for writing a great song. Love the cuts and joins!

Hi Beamer. I like your words so I looked for it via the link but SoundCloud say they can't find the song. I dare say you'll put it up again?

Brian, you and Pete are rubbing it in with your spring songs! We've had a garbage spring and summer what with the lock down, the weather's been all over the place, having to stay home and isolate due to you know what and the apparent second spike. But at least your song offers a little sunshine and hope and as you know hope springs eternal.
BTW, I heard at least two chords. Nice work.

Jim, I just looked through your words again and I have a question; when you refer to "feathers" is that a salute to Forest Gump? if so it doesn't make you a tealeaf LOL
