Creams cover of Robert Johnson's Crossroad is just about my favourite cover..
Recorded live on the Album Best of the Cream.
Still ranks with me as one of the greatest solos of all time.

well toanswer your questions or statements arkady:
1. to make YOUR OWN song not someone elses or also learn someone else's so you can have pride that YOU did it
2. sound recorder has to be in vista
3. you can do it with itunes
you save the songs you did via sound recorder and drag them into itunes. then make those songs into one playlist and burn the playlist into a CD

Hi Dan
Well thanks for clearing those points up...
Best of luck with all your own recordings perhaps you could post them on the web (Myspace etc) so we could have a listen to them.

Looks like this could be a fun song to sing to the kiddies. Most seem to like being a little bit scared sometimes..
look forward to the recording

Hi gschoppe
Welcome to Chordie
Chopro is not unique to Chordie as you know...
If you want to test Chopro try here http://webchord.sourceforge.net/
I'm curious why do you need to test Chopro on Chordies forum and whats with the link?
are thinking of submitting an original song to songwriting forum.

There's a couple of things I don't understand about dantheman's post
Why learn the tabs first. Unless you want to learn to play the song not really needed if you just want to record the song.
The sound recorder in xp will only record for 60seconds (unless vista recorder will record for longer) so no good for a song. You'll need a program like Audacity to record and render to Mp3. Unless you can do this with itunes.
WMP will burn to CD formatt as standard.

dantheman checkout this post for recording your tracks without using a microphone much easier

Hi Dantheman1119
Welcome Chordie
If you mean write them in the songwriting forum the answer is no as this is against Chordies rules...
I noticed that there is quite alot of blink-182 songs in Chordies index so they are well represented here already..

As a contributor to the songwriting section. I'm always delighted with any response I get as I don't really expect to much in the way of comments. I like yourself always answer any comment I receive as I consider someone who have taken the time to write a comment deserves a personal "thank you"
I have my Music on three websites "Myspace Ourstage and Soundclick" I have had thousands of plays and all these websites have the facilities to post comments on songs and the reponse is miminal. It's just that most people are lurkers who look/listen and that's it..
All I can say is keep em coming my friend..

I wish I could do that... lol Your daughter may think they sound the same but when she is older she'll hear all the little nuances that make your music your own. Perhaps she'll hear them in a documentary about Global Warming. I know I can.

Nice

Hi Kenny
Glad to see you back on posting again...
Thanks for your comments they are always appreciated.
Sadly my daughter is over 30 though she's usually diplomatic in her comments about her dads stuff the comment sort of slipped out..mmm true colours and all that smile

Dear chordie.com,

Yes, you're a family man, you have to watch out so the "man" doesn't get you and take away your nice car. I guess I'm just a little wild and I need someone who will stick up for me when the chips are down. Why are you such an apologist for s****y scare tactics from mega corporations who don't even have a leg to stand on? Is your nice house and your nice car so important that you'll let them whittle you away until you're just a collection of old folks songs that noone wants to play anymore? Not that folks songs aren't wonderful and amazing, I need modern songs too, ones that people know the words to. Don't pat yourself on the back for being a conformist, and congratulate yourself for being "better than nothing". Yes, I know I can take it or leave it, and that's what I'm doing.

Russ/getfiddle
Your solution Russ is fine not saying this better just different   smile

What I usually do is use Audacity as a recorder. As any sound played by your computer can be
recorded in Audacity.
1 On the drop down box it usually say "mircophone" set it to "Stereo mix"
2 Open the Mp3 you want to record but don't start it playing.
3 Set Audacity to start recording
4 Start the MP3 playing Audacity will record the MP3. Monitor the song and stop the MP3 when you got what you need of the track.  Then stop Audacity recording.
5 Trim off the silence at the start and end of the recording and then save as a MP3
Like most things it's easy than it sounds..

Hi crazydukefan222
Don't take this to badly but you might just need a different guitar.
I bought my wife a Classical guitar called a "Brunswick" made in the far east I think ok to learn on but the tone is I gotta say not good a "deep tone swallowing the chord" is a good description of what takes place.
I don't Know the make of guitar you have so it might not be your problem strings is the place to start otherwise.

Hi all
Just changed out the strings on my acoustic and just binned the old ones. I just wondered what other Chordians did with their old strings. They are vicious little criters and I always seem to stick myself with them somehow..
I would like to recycle them in some way but the so far haven't found any use for them.
any suggestions....:)
