Even though the month isn't even 1/2 way through, I declare BGD and Zurf the winners. I guarantee nobody had or will have as much fun playing these tunes as these two did. Please pick a good SOTM for March - perhaps we can record a chordiestock collaboration!
Jeff lets hear you on some stuff ya been kinda quiet lately.

No. I didn't pick up on that.
Well, ------------! I spent a lot of time finding the soundbites and clipping them down, hoping to add a twist to the song. LOL Well ok since no one seems to have noticed, I guess it was not called for, or no one listens that far.

Well I did put a post in my local band, so if ya want you can check that out, (TOTALLY UNRELATED
Last night i stumbled upon a old VH-1 remaking episode I had not seen in years, It was the Vince Neil one, and that led me back down the rabbit hole. I was then led to the DVD extra disk for the carnival of Sins tour, and from there....
one of the final shows from the Scorpions. I know not many of you guys got into metal, but that band has just as many ballads as they do rockers. I was amazed, Klaus Meine can still put the notes out, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs running around like they are still 19 or 20 . It was a really good show. I hope I can run around like that at 60+ yrs of age!
During one of my 2 most favorite ballads (Holiday) I grabbed the TAK and tried to remember how to play it, well I didn't remember, however I fell into a riff, and started singing what came to me that felt right. I wont talk about it until it has more than the 3 lines I kept repeating waiting for the next. the first 3 just fell out of my mouth, and not want I was even expecting to sing. So ill see if it develops. its a nice riff though LOL
CHEERS!
scott.

He has had issues with ppl, and he takes things pretty literally. I know I may have shocked him a bit, when he asked us did we have any other writing projects than songs, I sent him one I have been working for a while. Some of the stuff he read blew his mind, I think, and his tone changed a bit in our emails. I also know he has had some personal stuff going on aside form the health.

While this is technically true, knowing how to play them and knowing how to use them are very different things, agree? I can play locrian up and down the fretboard. Using it in a musical way? No idea.
That is true of all things, though. No point having the most awesome set of tools in the universe if you're the worst carpenter in the world.
Well heck by that logic Jerome, I shouldnt have but one guitar either, but lets not forget the FUN of it to.

Gidday Beamer
much prefer the acoustic version,it`s got everything going for it.
Thanks, though I know the heavy one can be better, I tried to do it to a drum loop at 110 BPM but kept getting lost either vocally or rhythmically. and said to heck with it. I do better with a live drummer who can judge my pace and then we lock in and i then can listen to him.
That acoustic was done just sitting at the desk and phone right in front of me

I just made two attempts to record my own song,,,, i had to stop, after hearing everyone else take it to places I cant seem to reach its very difficult to get done. the bar is set and I must rise to meet it as best I can. and trying to record while not playing and singing out just is not cutting it. (This is when I wish I had a producer to get the best out of me and to know how to record the tracks!)

I played Graham's song on Skype for the guys. I'll have to try to record it yet. Maybe I can find a little quiet time here in the next day or so. Everyone seemed to really like it a lot (and it IS a darn good song)! Scott's song is messing with me, but I will somehow manage to get that one out too. Anyone else trying these? Hold me to it guys, I haven't recorded anything in what feels like FOREVER.
AMY RECORD MY SONG! Everyone else does it so much better than me! ( This is me holding you to it)

Edit to add: Drums and bass courtesy of Band in a Box; Nashville tuned and 12er guitars and the vocals are mine.
OK did not see your note at the bottom of this and in SC I asked if that was band in a box lol.
I am floored at how well everyone else does this song! It almost makes me hesitant to do my version! but I will, its hard timing being home at midnight and not wanting to wake everyone.

Re: Rondo 9-String Guitar (3 replies, posted in Electric)
And they you get the guys who will buy that, and drop it a whole step and play in drop C, Yeah, i have had 30+years trying to mast 6 or its 12 string variant. I can understand the 7 string, for stuff i mentioned above,, but this is just not me LOL. They do have one on there I really want, its sort of a Futura body. (this one http://www.rondomusic.com/ghpstpro727ebemgwf.html) (It sorta looks like a Dean ZX, but I have seen some others with that hook at the end but cant search out the type now) I would have to figure out the 7th string, but love that body style, (or just remove the string, Wouldn't be unheard of)

Mostly China and Korea, I think my Ovation 12 string is USA. Not sure if the Rogue Basses are made here or abroad.

Guitar Maintenance Day
Loaded up the boys and 3 guitars and visited the music shop. 2 of the guitars were my son Cades.
His Strat was having grounding issues, an just like at the doctor, it didn't do it at the shop, but we decided to replace the input jack, and check all the connections for cold soldier spots. Then his Xavier A/E ( the one I brought to Chordie stock) the jack had come out of it, and so we decided to replace that one and beef it up some. also having some new strings (the John Pearse .012-.053 ) general set up and fret filing and neck check.
I ended up bringing the TAK back home but went with the suggestion of the heavier strings (as above) . I had thought of having the action lowered, but the tech (Eric) suggested against it. Ill put the heavier strings on and after the other guitars are done we will check action on the TAK.
The Tak came home because I realized Cade needed a guitar for class. So he will get to use the TAK. (im being a very trusting father here!)
Cheers!
