Thanks Roger.
This is something I have been thinking about. Another account for sending large attachments. Not got round to it yet, I really don't send enough biggies to have gone about it yet. That's not to say it'll never happen though. I may write a 10 verse classic and need to share it with people.
And then again.......... maybe not.
Cheers anyway.

Cheers. It's not really anything to do with my OS  but down to my Internet and email Provider (Virgin Media). Let's just say it has it's limits.

Thanks anyway.

It's really just a case of pulling that finger off as fast and clean as possible.

lol
My email provider limits the size of files to 5Mb but it really struggles with anything over 3. Takes forever and then times out. Very frustrating. However I find that if it's a recording of myself then I can usually get that down to a 2ish Mb mp3.

I won't torture you.

Acapo,

Any chance you could ask for some punctuation for Christmas. Sorry if I'm being a bit insensitive here, but man, your posts are really hard to read.

Apart from that, I'm glad you got this sorted. My email account really struggles to send items as large as songs. And that's with broadband connection! It really does my head in.

All the best,

Al V

Go to the Public books section and you can search for easy or beginner songs. I trawl through the public books quite often, looking for inspiration or just a song I haven't heard for years.
Well worth a look.

I love these kinda threads. Don't you just love teenagers. Don't you just want to be back there doing it all for the first time. Brilliant! May be not.
I fell in love when I was 15. Married her (10 years later) and are blessed with an angel of a daughter.
Gaun yersel son!

There is still a HUGE Catholic presence in Scotland. In fact some would say Scotland is notorious for it's Protestant/Catholic divide. Very similar to Ireland but with not quite as violent  a recent history.

The old question "what school did you go to?" was designed to determine if someone was Catholic or Protestant. The Catholic Church still reserves the right to send it's children to all Catholic schools.

Music in church is pretty much down to individual churches. Music in my church tends to be very traditional and classical. However, there is an active acoustic group who have an occassional input (not enough in my opinion).

Celebacy? I'm with Zurf on that one.

Most wars were and still are about religion.

It has become very convenient to blame religion for all of the world's problems. Is it possible that religion has been USED by unscrupulous and corrupt leaders to mobilise the masses into serving said leader's own personal agenda; whether it be for global domination, ethnic cleansing, oil, gold, or the advance of some empire.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that religion that is the problem, it's  the darkness of human nature that is at the very heart of it.

In ANY situation you only need to do one simple thing to get people to start thinking in terms of THEM and US. Very simply, just split them into two groups. Human nature does the rest.

You mentioned Haggis, Doc. I guess there's no getting away from it - like it or not it IS Scotland's national dish. A mixture of oats and blended spices with (traditionally) the heart, liver and lungs of a sheep, all tied up in said sheep's stomach lining. Sounds revolting but I can assure you is delicious. Most haggis nowadays is wrapped in plastic instead of the stomach. Served with mashed tatties (potatoes) and neeps (turnip), with maybe a little whisky sauce. Nice. Trust me.

I'm also glad to see the virtues of Irn Bru have made it across the Irish Sea. Too bad it hasn't made it across the Atlantic, Bonedaddy. I suspect there will be a few bottles in use this morning in Scotland. Virtually a whole nation with a hangover today after a small game of footy at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

Cheers guys.

Pick a song. Any song. You can do it acoustically. It may not sound exactly the same but it'll sound good.
A favourite of mine is Motorhead's Ace of Spades. On acoustic it tends to sound quite country. Good for a laugh.

Don'y know about Myspace, but you see covers all the time on Youtube/Google, Yahoo and places of that kind.

What about Cockermouth and Cockerbush in Cumbria.
I kid you not!

I think it was Maggie bell.

The song is called No Mean City. Written by Mike Moran.

C6 is exactly the same as Am7 (x02010) and F6 is the same as Dm7 (xx0211)

I don't know the song you are playing so no idea if that helps or not.

I remember this from the eighties. A mixture of pretend guitar playing and "head banging". I don't think the motive was to attract women but to show your appreciation for the music, and the guitarist in particular. Looking on from the side, if you didn't understand it you didn't understand the music. That's my understanding of it anyway.

Aahh the memories....................
