Hi Phill
Certainly a Latin feel with the beat and pauses etc running through this one.
A "Shirley Valentine" type message to the lyrics..
nice one

I am just trying to make sense of the FREE things that are not realy being FREE (asking for donations, having some lessons free with other lessons paid, advertising on the sites).

I thought this was not an acceptable practice since it realy is an in direct way of asking for money with some free stuff mixed in.

Thanks

Steve

I personally can’t see anything wrong with a free website asking for a voluntary donation and have links to paying sites after all we all have choice and if someone wants to contribute to a site which helps him or entertains him then that’s up to the individual.
Links don't have to be followed on a site and if they are then they don't have to take up whats on offer....

My Grandfather served in the first world war and my father served in the second.
I just recently looked up the war records of my grandfather and realised how many major battles he fought in and found out he was wounded and then sent back to the front when was deemed ok. I just wish I had taken more time to listen to his war stories which to my shame I found boring when I was young.
My Father served in the 8th Army in Africa for three years and went though D day and on though Europe all the way to Berlin..
I was older when he told me of experiences so I still have alot of his memories and thankful for them.
Heros all...
Stran great poem thanks

Hi Russ
Your comment reminded me of what Lena used say about my music. She said she used to play them in her yoga classes.  smile
Thanks for the comment my friend..

Hey geoaguiar
Thanks for taking the time to listen comment on the music.

Hi daddy
Glad you liked the piece of music. The words are not really lyrics just a scene setter for the music.
Thanks for the encouragement it's really appreciated.

Hi Selso.
How do I do it? smile
Musically... Multi tracking, Keyboard, Midi's and loops and Music maker software.
and music always sounds better with a nice piccy to look at ...:)
Thanks for the comment.

Hi Phill
No vocals for this one. I think I complicated things with the poem it's just a scene setter for the music thats all.
Maybe spoken before the piece..
Always appreciate your comments Phill thanks..
I was hoping you had read azincourt I've still got to get hold of a copy  smile

Hi All
I wasn’t sure where to put this one forum wise as  I feel this piece needed words a poem if you like to accompany the music..
I personally have never experienced an Epiphany spiritual or otherwise but others say they have.   I tried to get an uplifting feel to music.
I was really pleased with the finished piece and was a  bit disappointed with getting placed 68th out of 250 or so on Ourstage this month still you win some you loose some…
Anyway enough of the waffle…
Thanks as always for taking the time for reading and perhaps listening..

Epiphany
Jesus stares down on me lit by the sun
Edged in Red, Blue and Gold pulling the thread to my soul that’s now undone
Drawing me up gathering me in.
Opening my eyes and righting the sin.

Now there’s birds in my heart and they have taken to flight
Lifting me above the dark ignorant earthly night
Everything I touch I now really feel
For now I stand bathed in light of revelation so real.

The sadness in my bones has run it’s course
Driven out by a divine magical force.
When I saw the crossed man hanging heavily there.
I placed my spirit my life in his care.

Hi Phill
If you can upload your songs to Soundclick then go to your artist page and copy the address at top of explorer and paste it in the post..

I really can't see any bad problems with both ideas both for a sticky for helpful websites or a classified ad section for Chordie members..
We have a good number of active mods here on Chordie so if both time zones are covered generally any spam posts will be jumped on quickly..
A new for classified forum would be for to Per to consider..
The chat mods have the say on the sticky...
my thoughts..

If you want to up load more than six songs you can use the Soundclick website no restrictions on the number of songs there..

If you have a recording you want to share with Chordie and the wider world then it’s easiest to get a Myspace or Soundclick account. These sites both host songs in audio format.
The wav files must be converted to mp3 files first though.
Converters are free to download on the web Audacity will do it ok…
As Russ says it's not possilbe to post direct to Chordie..

Help !

I've been playing for about two years now and can play open chords quite well using loads of songs from the website. I can fingerpick a couple of easy songs like "here comes the sun" and "house of the rising sun" but I don't feel like I'm progressing any further... just playing the same stuff over and over.

Any suggestions what's best to learn next as I seem to be loosing my way a little ? Any other easy tabs spring to mind ?

Thanks guys !

Another way forward is to try compose some of your own songs. It all depends if you want to continue to covering songs which is fine.
It's just another option open to you and can be rewarding...
oh and don't forget to boring stuff like barres and scales etc smile

Hi Selso
If you want to save a single track from a multi track recording in Audacity....
Muting each track won't work.
Here's what you gotta do.
Open the Audacity file with the song.
I know this sounds drastic but don't worry the original file will still be there in the folder.
Delete the tracks until your left with one track only this one you save to an MP3 with the name you want.
On the "Edit" tab press the "Undo" button which will reinstate the deleted tracks then you
repeat the process leaving only a different track you want to save to an MP3.
Do this until all tracks are saved individually.
When closing make sure you don't save any changes to the original file.....

I think Audacity works best if you record a track then adjust with the FX to suit then record the next track with the 1st track playing in the background so timing etc is ok then FX that one if needed. Then continue doing the same on each track until the song is built up.
Then export as an MP3 if completed and or an Audacity file for re-editing if needed...
