What you are going through I think seeems to happen to EVERYONE and regular intervals while they are learning. If I find myself feeling like this then it's time to learn a new technique or scale or song.

Listen to the radio a lot. Every day I hear a song and think "Oooo that sounds like it'd be good to play". Look it up and start learning it. I love it! Once you've learned the song and can play it then start to look at ways you can improve how it sounds. There may be a bass run or hammer on that will bring it alive again. It's all part of the fun for me.

Don't get me wrong, I am just a beginner like you (2 years maybe), so I have a lot to learn. But I'm loving learning it.

Aaaahhhhh

Good for the soul.

BB King has always fascinated me. Amazing guitar and amazing voice. Garry Moore is another of my favourites. That was the perfect wind down. Just in from work and totally mellow. Man.

Under here lies dear old Lieven
His soup he'd always dip his sleeve in
Cream of mushroom was his favourite
He left before it was time to pay for it

Are you trying to tell us something, Doc?

Hey, Doc, did you get the email I sent about the guitar collection? Lot of Gibsons. Not many strats.

A large single malt whisky shall be raised (and downed) in honour of a true Chordian Gentleman.
All the best, Doc. You're a star!

What do you Chordians think? Gifted or hard-working?

When I first saw Andy McKee on Youtube I never touched my guitar for 3 days. Now you show me an 11 yr old kid playing like that.

Jeez!

Might pick it back up in a couple of weeks. Definitely no talent with me. Just pure bloody mindedness that I'll one day play a recognisable tune.

Don't venture in here very often, last_rebel, but jeez I'm glad I did today. You're on a roll. Keep it up. Brilliant stuff.

I'm with aj1 on this. I tried more expensive instruments and ended up buying a Yamaha APX500. A fantastic guitar for the money. Sounded better than a lot of more expensive brands. It's an electro-acoustic and sounds great on it's own or through an amp. Check them out, they won't dissapoint.

I may be way off here but I think what's happening in the US housing and mortgage market has got the US economy all jittery. It's even having an effect over here in the UK (Northern Rock). Also while the Dollar weakens the price of oil is increasing. Fuel cost are going to take a big jump in the next few months. Again!

Merry Christmas.
