Do not use a gig bag. If they are jerks and make you gate check it you are screwed.
Try not to check it as luggage. Years ago an airline destroyed an amp of mine and exempted it from coverage as "electronics equipment" even though they destroyed mostly the enclosure.
New live show from XRT in Chicago. New sound. Very soulful, and Derek Trucks is one of the best in history:

I used to fish more than I picked. Sadly with work (and living in a God-forsaken desert) those days are long gone, but the wife and I are planning a move to TX in a few months and I'm looking forward to connecting with big bass and also making occasional trips to the coast for kingfish, trout, and drum. Can't wait!
As usual, I agree with Zurf.
Glad you got good advice. I was going to suggest re-tubing it. Tubes can get also go microphonic, where they squeal and squeak. It's horrible.
Try relaxing your shoulder and arm and letting your arm "hang" off of the fretboard. That will take some of the pressure off of your grip.
Or you can skip the barre and try the thumb over technique where you play
1
1
2
3
x
1 (play this one by hooking your thumb over the back of the neck to grab the string)
Here's a great picture that illustrates the technique using a G barre chord
Google did a big update in their SEO algo last week. Among the biggest losers were guitar tab websites. Ultimate Guitar was almost completely de-indexed, as was GuitarTab.
They say the change looks manual. I hope Chordie didn't get popped.

I was but a glimmer in my Daddy's eye, not to debut for another 8 years.
Band of Gypsies also formed in 69.
Took it to my amp guy, who also happens to be Geddy Lee's keyboard guy.

Not going so hot. Off to the tech!
If you're gonna carry a gun why would you not chamber a round? That's just silly.
As far as copyright, this site is actually helpful as it provides a date stamp for when something was created. If a star came and ganked a member's stuff this little ol' forum might be exhibit A in the lawsuit.
i did some more research. Below seems to be the common wisdom:
1. Matched tubes do not preempt the need for biasing.
2. Biasing is super easy.
3. Not biasing can result in burning out tubes.
I'm gonna try it tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!

How hard is it to bias a tube amp, what equipment do I need and what is the downside of not doing so?
I had a tiny accident with the Deville a few months ago. Both power tubes broke. I have since replaced them with a matched set but do I absolutely need to re-bias before plugging it in?
I figured it was better for me to get in trouble than you.
Web addresses are fine so long as they aren't SPAM, which is generally defined as irrelevant or site selling stuff that don't buy ads.

I don't let people play my guild hollow body or gibson. And someone else loaning out your instrument is 100% off limits IMO. I would buy your good friend a beer and tell him that you're ok with him playing it since he's a trusted friend but it made you a bit uncomfortable to loan it out to people you don't know as well, and ask him to not do that again.
I might very well have a new recording or two by then, if you would care to add that to the mix.
I haven't really recorded since before my daughter existed. Lol.
Lots of the tabs are approximations of where you need to place chord changes. You kinda have to play with it in order to figure out what sounds right. Like Zurf, I rarely play a song as written...unless it's a teenie bopper pop song, in which case doing so is hilarious.
Way to go on picking up something new at 74. That's wonderful!
Wow that sucks. Get well soon.
