That is a great deal. I have been known to buy a case here and there. I have no problem buying a used case.

Sometimes it's good to have expensive guitars in cheap looking cases, so they look less appealing to would-be thieves ....

I'm not a SoundCloud expert (one app I have on my iPad uploads it's recording directly there), however I believe you need to record the tune onto your local PC and do all the adjustments there, prior to uploading it to SoundCloud. I've never seen where you can record directly into it, like a recording program ... I hope others can chime in if I'm mistaken.

Ok here is my entry that easybeat challenged me too.  I had a  bit of free time tonight to learn it,  practice it a little bit and record it.  Actually easybeat, when I listened to Frank Sinatra singing it, I didn't know the song at all really, it was not what I was thinking it was.  Anyway, I had to do it tonight or not at all as I am babysitting my 2 yr old grandson for 3 weeks and today and tonight was my only child free day to do anything this month.  Also, I have never really tried to play Jazz before, that in itself will take me a while to learn how to play properly.  So I am not sure it sounds very Jazzy to be honest, and the vocals aren't the best in places as I am not that familiar with this song.  It is another song that I wouldn`t mind having another go at but I had to stop, it was getting late and the neighbours probably aren't impressed!https://soundcloud.com/ukulelejan/fly-me-to-the-moon

Sounds good!! I did a version over a year ago, but my recording techniques weren't so good then (vocals are a bit distorted!!) ...

Can I challenge you to do Nancy Sinatra's "Boots are made for walking" ... ???

I`ll only leave it up for a week as it`s a bit of a dogs breakfast. But hey, i`m entering the spirit.

That was good ... is that in the Willie Nelson style? I haven't heard the original for a long time either, and tend to play it a bit more down-strummy rather than picked ... I hope you leave it up for longer!!

This is my down-strummy version ...

Thank you ... I did this one a while ago, but felt it needed to be re-done to add some effects to the vocals ...

Have you tried the free version on CCleaner - it works well on getting cached files and corrupted cookies out of your system (I sounds like an ad!!):

That's great - one word of advice; use either cardboard or thin wood shims wherer your clamps touch the guitar - it can save from messy indents on your axe (although it may be a case like Mater in "Cars 3" where his dents were part of his personality ... )

I was wondering what you were doing with clams ... until the penny dropped ...

Another Chordie challenge for me this month (October 2018) was to do a song written by one of the chordie members - this song was written by two members, Brian Maynall & Phil Williams. Brian sent me an email last year (!) asking if I'd like to do a version of his song, so, almost a year later, here is "If it's good enough for Buddy". I'm not sure if the words/chords are on the forum, but there is a post about the song here: https://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=31861 - hope you enjoy my take on it.

Just a reminder to give feedback to everyone that enters a song smile

I'll hold my hand up, guilty as charged - I always listen to all the entries, but with the chordie forum, when clicking a link, it opens in the same window, and I forget to go 'back' after viewing the clip, or get otherwise distracted (mainly by little ones!!!). So if I haven't commented on anyones, apologies .... you guys/girls are all really talented!! smile

That was a nice song - it's always good to hear some original music!! You did it well!!!

Roger Guppy wrote:

This is not a song that I know too also. However I did enjoy listening to it and have no need to listen to the original, well done Richard.

Thanks - the original was a lot slower than I expected, however it had a 'country' feel to it, which I kinda did too, but at a more rapid pace ...

Like what you have done to this song.
Just goes to show same song two versions, both great!

Thanks, it was an intersting song to do - certainly put me out of my comfort zone .... !!

That was terrific !
I amazed every time one of you here on chordie can do something like this.
I certainly wish I had your talent.

Although I too have never heard the song, I really don't need to hear the  original -
your version works just fine for me!
Well done, my friend!

Jim

Thanks for your kind words ... I don't think I'm that talented - I just (in the past) have practiced a lot, because it's something I enjoy doing, and so I practice more, and you get better each time you do; but I do appreciate your comments.

Cheers

One of my challenges for this month (October 2018) from the good people of chordie.com, was to cover a song I'd never heard before. The song was nominated as "Reconsider" by Charlie Robison. It was more challenging than I imagined, as you don't have even a rough guide for phrasing and structure - so whilst you have the chords and the lyrics for the song, they only form a part of the picture. Anyway, this is my take, I hope you like it - I'm off to listen to what the original sounds like ... smile
