I have very little experience in this however while looking through an indoor flea market I came across a Karaoke machine. It was made by Craig. It uses the cassette tapes which are on the way out but it has two cassette slots. One records from the other or from the mike. The machine has an echo or re verb feature to add a little different flavor if you choose to. You can simply use the machine as a PA or you can play a recorded tape and play and or sing along. It has two mike inputs and outputs for extended speakers.I still don't like the sound of my own voice but everyone else says it sounds just like me. I tried an instrumental (Rumble)  with some echo added and with the open mike I was amazed at the sound and surprised at my playing. I got it for $60. I hope this helps. OH by the way, it will work on AC or 8 D sized batteries.  AL

But then again, I have seen and heard that playing by ear is a rare skill unto itself.

Thanks for the Smiley Zurf! A lot of folks don't get my sense of humor but if not for it I would have no sense at all.

Hello welcome2myhead,
Wow you really opened a can of worms! I see you been a member for nearly 3 years and have only made two posts. I am just curious as to what the other one was.

Russ, Shifter may be talking about this when asking about bumpiing a post. Say you make a post and you get no replies and your post gets lost in the shuffle. Can we go back and add something to bring it back to the top of the list? Perhaps that is what was meant.

I will be 66 in March. I don't remember if I replied to this thread before or not.
They say there are 2 things that happen when you get old.
# 1 you lose your memory.
#2 ???????? Shoot I can't remember what #2 was.

You should be able to click the box beside the title you want to delete and a check mark will fill the box. Then scroll down till you see the word "delete".  Click it and the song should be gone.

Well it's Sunday before Christmas and from past posts I know that several of us will be using our talents to praise the Lord. Some before large congregations and some  small. Some with much ability and some not so much (yet).Maybe some in other arenas besides church.Possibly nursing homes or others. Just remember who the main member of our audience is and if it doesn't happen to go just like you have planned remember God has a sense of humor. If not he wouldn't give men hair and then take it away. Nor would he give women an hour glass figure and then let all the sand go  -----NEVER MIND.
God's blessings to all performing (for lack of a better word) for him today. Al

Hi Folks, I'm getting the impression from some of the posts that the cleaning of the fret board happens while the strings are removed. I was told some time ago that when changing strings, I should only change one at a time as the tension of the remaining strings prevents the neck from twisting (?) out of alignment. Can anyone help me here? If it's not a big problem then I'm thinking that cleaning the fret board is going to be a much easier process if I can do it at string changing time with all the strings off. hmm

Hey Turret,
Removing all the strings at once is perfectly fine. I've always done it and never had a problem. I wouldn't leave it unstrung for a prolonged period of time but for an hour or two it's fine. -Pix

Thanks from me too Pix. I was wondering how the action on a guitar could be adjusted if you couldn't take all strings off.
