I think I am too old to go back to music class, and due to my physical condition I can't play, standing in a "vertical" position. I have problems with my gibsons they are too heavy. But
I have some friends one plays drum, the other bass, but you know they still have wife and kids and they learned me a lot, like you can't keep RHYTHM. They are correct.
Most of the time I play alone. I played for months only acoustic, but since I found my Korg Pandora PX4D back I learned in one week more than in two months.
The size is similar to a package of cigarettes, and you have a fantastic rhythm section.
Since a few months there is the Korg Pandora PX5D with an USB interface, ableton lite and more USEFUL effects.
So my point is I am not really able to follow class.
I play pretty good and have developed my own style. Since 4 weeks I play almost only electric especially with the DUESENBERG 49er, play the guitar, choose your combination and choose your rhythm section. UNBELIEVABLE = the riffs and licks and with that rhythm section, I even can play some solos.
How CAN I IMPROVE my skills? Reading tabs? Maybe this will be the next step, learning to play tabs

- or from especially Africa (I lost counting how many of them were princesses?)
- Spam, spammer, spamst. The most idiot spam you received. I believe it is the always recurring question and from 3 different organisations to participate the GREEN CARD lottery, every month I receive the same mails = Dear DR PHILIPS you have visited our site, please answer asap, it's your only chance, so act now.
I read that a guy received emails about tents. I QUOTE: what is the height of the tent?
Are you interested in windows?
What type of frame?
Who will supply the metal parts –
will you obtain them locally which will enable a much lower quotation from our side?
He searched a few weeks and at the end he found the cause:
because of the numerous times I mention tents on his blog: content(s), attentive, attention, extent, and tentative. There HAS to be a kind of searching tool picking out the words with, in this case, tent in it.

Is it allowed do give two? 'cause at the university studying to become a doc, here in BELGIUM 7 years. I did so many "sometimes MEAN" things. I once placed a piece of plastic cellophane in the toilets of girls, at the university, in a bar. If they went to toilet and they came back, I don't need a picture here.
Embarrassing moments: being reanimated in E.R a few hours after my crash, in ER I had a cardiac arrest due to a shock. So I really died, and you have 3 stages.
1) Angry, cursing
2) you start to realise that there is something real bad going on that moment
3) finally you start to feel happy, you accepted the inevitable, and I remember every single thing that happened there, so I could speak to my "ex-girlfriend" about don't worry I will be always in your head + other stuff about my daughter, mother.
4) I heard suddenly: "finally we have him back" and one of the doctors asked how I felt? The only answer I could give: can I get finally "French fries" (FRENCH FRIES are originally from BELGIUM).
I was thinking on French fries when I hit that tree, and I think when you die you take your last thought with you.

Topic: PERFORMING IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE (2 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I suppose that there are fellow chordians did perform already in front of an audience.
SITUATION:
- How would you react if you are asked to play in a bar and the audience is just intereted in BEER and WOMEN making a hell of a noise, and worse they start shouting at you that you suck, or go home, you spoil our evening. I AM 100% CONVINCED THIS HAPPENS MORE THAN ONCE.
People don't have respect, they prefer to show DISRESPECT.
1) Do you stop and walk away?
2) Do you continue and you act if there is nothing wrong, and ask them to shut up?
OTHER PROBLEM:
- You play some great covers, but bad things can happen = you can't remember some lines. If the audience is enthusiast I would hold a mic in front of them and let them sing, or you start singing lalala.

Until 2007, I used NORTON the "biggest name" and once my contract ended I changed to MACAFEE and as extra you have a site adviser. Green is very reliable website. Red can be dangerous by bringing junk and spam or a trojan. A ? = site is not fully tested.
- What antivirus do you use to protect your songs on PC?
- Is there an antivirus program better than the classics for this site
Sometimes I am convinced that those people who make an antivirus program, create a new virus, if not they wouldn't have work or selling their problems.
I post this thread because a lot of us posted their songs on "myspace" and I believe that people who don't belong there, like I had at least 5 USA girls, to see that they are removed later, also skype, I am afraid to use it because when I open skype I get a lot of "girls" who are asking to be your friend, and every single girl was "porn related".
That's my problem on myspace.

I did use INTERNET EXPLORER, but since 3 years I use MOZILLA FIREFOX. It happened maybe 3 times that I couldn't access to the web.
I turned my PC of, waited 5 minutes and back in business.
I can not tell which of the 2 (firefox or explorer) is the best. I think that more and more people use firefox. Is it safer? I don't know.
What I do know is that I changed Norton for Macafee, never had a better antivirus program.
I 've got the same problems = no way to go online. What happened = I downloaded a few extra antivirus programs, like KAPERSKY. It took me hours before I could fix it. Often antivirus programs are not compatible with each other.

There have been DOZENS of time that I didn't touch a guitar. I'm here at home not longer working and I didn't play electric guitar the last 10 months, until I discovered my Korg PX4D, providing me a rhythm section AND the fact I saw a DUESENBERG. I didn't want to buy him, but he stayed in my head.
Now I play 30-60 minutes a day.

Re: ABOUT EFFECT PROCESSORS: a review (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Thanks KAP54, I did this NOT to make publicity but I wonder how many chordians are playing in a band. There are 3 possibilities.
1) Having a lot of fun and play at home ALONE, this is very hard to do. If I record 30 minutes, I am ASHAMED wrong rhythm, false.-
2) Playing in a band, at least 75% stay in a rehearsal period, just fun and nice to play with your friends
3) Some are performing now and then.
If you are a "loner" like I am, the PX4D is just great, and looking for more, I found that there is now the PX5D with a lot more possibilities.
I DON'T EXAGERATE BUT WITH THAT DEVICE I PLAY 3x better, I even start to play more complicated riffs and solos. THAT DEVICE is my best friend AND "band" to play decent. PRICE? Compared to all other floor boards and/or effect processors YOU GET A LOT, A REAL LOT FOR THAT PRICE. I wrote this thread because I wanted to share my enthusiasm and to inform a lot of "home players" that this is a great solution. The PX5D has even an USB interface so you can transfer your song to your PC. JUST READ THE POSSIBILITIES & CRITICS.
- http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=PX4d (PX4D)
PX5D = 744 Rhythm and Bass patterns to jam, 180.effects, 80 second phrase trainer samples.
A lot for a pocket sized device, and the sound? You have to look but you WILL find 5 MUST HAVE patches. http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_pro … egory_id=6

Yes Ken, hard to believe 13 studio albums in in fact a relative short period.
Can you imagine ONE band, except some 60ties bands doing the same? Take MADONNA, how many records does she have? 90% of the "bigger" bands spend months in a studio, and THE QUESTION IS? IS THE RESULT BETTER?
me? I wouldn't be proud to spend days and weeks to record ONE track. And HOW is it possible that bands who made an album in 12 months are able to perform a number on which they worked 1 month.
I've seen a lot of bands playing, recently I listened to Coldplay's FIX YOU a life acoustic gig, FALSE, WRONG RIFFS....

ABOUT THE GIBSON SUPREME.
- He is lighter and very expensive if you want a nice AAAA top
- THERE IS A DIFFERENCE in PICK-UPS 490R ALNICO II neck and a 498T ALNICO V bridge
THE LP STANDARD has BURSTBUCKERS ALNICO V and are closer to PAF'S
THE LP CLASSIC has 496R and 500T pick-ups
THE LP CUSTOM has also 490R & 498T

Re: ABOUT EFFECT PROCESSORS: a review (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Hi Detman, I am disabled, I don't play in a band I'm just sitting here at home earning money with suffering, I know it is a dark phrase, but I'm in a dark mood today.
I have 3 effectprocessors as told and that FANTASTIC AMP = THE FENDER CYBERTWIN, SORRY for all other amp owners, but this amp is INCREDIBLE. By coincidence I found that little KORG PANDORA PX4D back and I was surprised.
Playing alone this little thing has all you need, a few different modeling amps, and a rhythm section.
The new PX5D has even more on board and also an USB port and a footswitch. You can't change the key of your rhythm with the PX4D, you have to play in E or F#, c, G and I believe that the new one gives you the opportunity to change it + you can put in on your PC and work on that song.
A few years ago, in fact right after my crash in 2000, I 've been reanimated, and strange how I reacted, I got a lot of $$$ and I knew wgat I would get if I couldn't work so I had in fact an URGE to BUY every single thing I wanted. I freaked out completely. Like buying 5-6 PDA'S, CELL PHONES, effect boards, guitars, I bought at least 10 guitars and now I am asking THE question: WHY? I don't have any excuse, it's too late to regret, and people change. I stopped practicing end 2004, and my life = no more social life, can't walk without cruches, no perspective, just watching DVD, PC, and guitars + suffering 24/24 BUT I LIVE and I prefer now that little box, it ain't easy, but most of my days pass quit fast.

WE HAVE GOT THE BEATLES. In fact they were only BIG in the period between 1962 - 1970.
In fact in 1962 they replaced PETE BEST by RICHARD STARKEY aka RINGO STARR. In fact this must have been a catastrophe for him to see that he was replaced at the start of the "BEATLE - MANIA".
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY HAD 13 STUDIO ALBUMS between 1963 and 1970? Can somebody give me the name of ONE band who did better. To make an album today, it takes a year and everything is controlled by producers and sound engineers, to have what? A better sound?
BUT THE QUESTION IS:
- WHICH OF THE FAB FOUR HAD MOST SUCCESS IN THE POST BEATLES ERA?
Was it Paul McCartney with/without Wings?
- WHICH OF THE FAB FOUR MADE THE BEST SONG? like the song "Mull of Kyntire" is the best sold single ever only beaten by "Do they know it's Christmas"but still the best sold single WITHOUT A PURPOSE, like Aids, Charity.
Or is it JOHN LENNON with one of the most beautiful songs ever IMAGINE.
What about George Harisson, Ringo Starr?
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION PLEASE

Topic: TOPIC 1 = FENDER STRATOCASTER + TELECASTER & CRITICASTERS (1 replies, posted in Electric)
Lovely title because there are more CRITICASTERS here than stratocasters and telecasters.
There have been already a lot of discussions about what is the best guitar, but most topics, threads and answers are SUBJECTIVE. So being aware of all topics concerning which is the best guitar a Fender MIM or MIA: I loved a more technical thread.
THIS QUESTION IS MORE A TECHNICAL QUESTION.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT A GUITAR ARE: PLAYABILITY + TONE +SOUND + KRAFTMANSHIP & STAYING IN TUNE.
But what are TECHNICALLY THE REAL differences?
THE MEXICAN WORKERS earn less, but I read that some parts are assembled in the USA and shipped to Mexico.
PRICES: (I took the NOT TOO expensive models.
- Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar MIA = 899$
- Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar MIM = 400$
I heard that a FENDER MIM stratocaster has improved pick-ups since end 90ties. The bridge seems to be. WHAT ABOUT THE FENDER STRATOCASTER HIGHWAY ONE?
- Fender Highway One Stratocaster Electric Guitar US made = 749$
We have 3 different Fender Stratocasters here. But what is the TECHNICAL difference?
And if you have a MEXICAN fender is it worth to UPGRADE this MIM?
About the used pick-ups and you want to change them, what are the best choices?

Topic: WHO IS A GUITAR TECHINICIAN? (2 replies, posted in Electric)
I have a DUESENBERG 49er.
This guitar played great, super great.
BUT
- Suddenly my little E-string was not sounding good, she is TOO close to the fretboard. I turned a little bit on the wheels of the bridge of course it is WORSE.
- SHE is BRAND NEW and probably it is caused by temperature changes (she goes to bed with me, sleeps with me even breakfast). I noticed TWO (2) wheels near the bridge, I tried to turn, and now all strings are making a "twoing" noise. As far as I could see there is almost no space between strings and neck.
PLEASE HELP ME, HELP MEHEHE.

This is a question I wanted to ask since long. What is the age of the normal "CHORDIAN".
The major reason is that we can learn from youngsters and they can learn from the oldies.
I am born in december 1955 so I'm almost 53 years old.
LEVEL of PLAYING: from BAD to GOOD, enough to join a band.
PROBLEM = I play almost always alone SOLUTION = my KORG PANDORA with drums.
MUSIC: everything, except R&B a very wrong title used by women (75%) with a voice so vibrating that my glass breaks. I like POP, ROCK, BLUES and HARDROCK + related metal.
So that's me

Well that's my point. I have tons of time and I am a skilled surfer (amazing how the results are different when you google).
CHORDIE IS:
- A great site for music.
- Everybody here has freedom of speech, and can ask what he wants.
- We are 1 big community, peaceful and everyone is helping everyone.
- We can discuss so much here
- Compared to a lot of sites, we have more than 182.000 active members AND THIS FOR A SITE ABOUT MUSIC AND GUITARS = a limited amount of people.
- I believe CHORDIE is the most complete site about music.

Re: CHEAP GIBSON AND FENDER CLONES = A LIST OF (BAD)GUITARS (7 replies, posted in Electric)
Yes it is close. There are really very good looking and fancy guitars but as soon as you play?!!!
I compare it with a woman, you have a beautiful woman at your side, but the moment she starts talking her voice sounds like the sound of a teacher using a piece of chalk on his big board. One of the most irritating noises ever.
Some people buy a very cheap guitar but soon they are changing pick-ups, at the end you're better of to pay some more money, and buy a guitar that you love.
Gibson has some quit cheap but decent guitars.

Hello there, welcome. I know that the "guitar world don't end with MARTIN GIBSON TAYLOR.
I see you are using the same system as I do. You see a guitar, it doesn't matter if it is a cheap brand or an expensive but if I find a remarkable guitar, I go first to an online store, I read the comments and next: youtube and this gives you already a pretty good idea.
There are so many great, but almost always VERY EXPENSIVE. But I work like you.

DEAR BELOVED CHORDIANS I hope you could see pictures of that guitar. I CAN'T COPY AND PASTE A PICTURE HERE.
WHAT IS NEEDED TO PUT A PICTURE HERE.
I have so many guitars, and I was convinced that I had the best of rhe best, PRS custom 24, Gibson LP CUSTOM 1968 & 1978, a SUPREME.
There is now almost 3 weeks later NO BETTER guitar than that DUESENBERG.
That, German company started only in 2004 with a US plant. This is the only guitar I know that is more expensive in the US than EUROPE. I have a weird feeling about that brand, in a few years, so told my "fortune teller" will be played by a lot of people, it is a real and big danger for his competitors GIBSON & FENDER and I'm really serious. THE LOOKS THE SOUND are AMAZING.
That's why I, a PRS man, am now also a DUESY freak.

Re: CHEAP GIBSON AND FENDER CLONES = A LIST OF (BAD)GUITARS (7 replies, posted in Electric)
DFT889 I think you didn't get the point. I wrote IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A GIBSON OR A FENDER, I believe you are better of with a guitar a LOT CLOSER TO FENDER & GIBSON.
Like a Fender MIM, or an EPIPHONE in stead of spending money to a HARLEY BENTON or STAGG.
This doesn't mean that these are bad guitars but I believe it's still better to pay 100$ more, and buy an epiphone (as example) they are quit good.
I had the occasion recently to compare VERY CHEAP CLONES versus THE REAL STUFF and versus the better copies.
I don't believe that my opinion is "infected" by the fact that I am spoiled by having a nice collection.
The sound = SAME AMP, SAME VOLUME, TONE on a CLEAR & a DISTORTION channel were really a bad experience.

Re: Silvertone Revolver (3 replies, posted in Electric)
It all depends on what you play.
Also, when you take your guitar and you strum or pick strings does it feel good?
If yes I don't think you have to worry. If the guitar feels good, the sound is the sound you want, again, DON'T WORRY.

REASON: THE NECK IS TOO THICK.
Are all telecaster necks that thick or not. For me it's difficult to say.

Topic: ABOUT EFFECT PROCESSORS: a review (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I noticed that a fellow chordian wrote something about "CORG" I suppose it is KORG.
As I wrote already, I have a few effect processors.
1) FENDER CYBERTWIN with hundred or more effects: amps and effects.
2) ZOOM 8080, 10 years old but still working fine.
3) Line 6 POD XT LIVE: a great floor board and great effects.
4) BOSS VF1, also old but still fine.
BUT HERE IT COMES
5) KORG PANDORA ToneWorks PX4D (you have an acoustic version PX4A) here is the link
http://www.korg.com/gear/default.asp?categoryID=6
I thought I lost this device but I found it somewhere in a guitar case. Why is this so special?
The Korg Pandora PX4D is one of the best devices ever made. Size = a packet of cigarettes. What can you accomplish using this device go and see for yourselves. I use it all the time and believe it or not when I use it I play 3x better than I use to play. There is a drum in this PX4D you set it in a position you like, from jazz, blues to metal, you control the speed of the drum effects, and if you follow this you will be surprised, not only the drum, but a lot of different amps + all kind of effects or call it styles you can play.
PRICE = 150$ COMPARED TO OTHER DEVICES WITH THE SAME FEATURES IT'S HALF THE PRICE
Now they have a successor THE PANDORA PX5D with a few important improvements. You get an USB cable and Ableton Lite which allows you to record on your PC and you can improve your song.
For some extra $$ you have a foot switch, and that device is not bigger than a wallet.
WHY THIS TOPIC: to give information about NOT TOO EXPENSIVE DEVICES. For me, I play always alone, but as said I even start to play some solos. LINK
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ … sku=150486
I hope this review is helpful for people searching for an effect processor.
Of course you have a lot of other processors but concerning this one I wanted to share MY experience.
