Thank you Zurf. you are too kind.  I do have a 12er here in Portugal (I have just arrived home) and I have one in the UK. Maybe next time I will get one for the States. smile

Zurf, there is no trade agreement between the States and Portugal so, not only would I have to also buy a hard case and pay to take it on two airlines, I would have to pay Portuguese import and taxes. I am told that the customs authorities are not concerned what you paid for an item, they will assess a value and charge you one third of what they think it is worth. Not a good system, except for the government. sad

TF, only having a couple of days before having to leave it behind did not take much willpower. Now had I a couple of weeks it would have been a completely different kettle of fish.

Jim (Mekidsdad) took me to the Guitar Centre in Syracuse yesterday. Luckily it was two days before I leave; had it been before the 'Gathering' I would have been buying this and leaving it at their home:

There were two other 12ers, a Martin and a Taylor, both new and more expensive than this Guild but the action and tone of this outstripped the other two by far.

Roger

The price is unclear but it is $399.99.

Hey come on guys, you are making me blush!

It is a very worthwhile organisation, giving the less fortunate youngsters chance to learn to play, and even earn their own, guitar if they keep to their lessons.

The praise is due to Ken and the other members for the good work they do.

As requested by our Musicator Extraordinair smile

Scott, re-reading this thread, are you saying that you did or did not post it on Chordie? Or did you just send a recording of it out to people? I am a little confused here.

OK, I bestowed Bill's title. We do not do this very often, Moderators can change their own and, just once in a while, one of us will feel that a Member should have one for whatever reason.

My reasoning: Bill invented the musicate word and a person who musicates must be a 'musicator'. A person who is 'out of the ordinary', remarkable or extraordinary can be described as being 'extraordinaire'. I admire the way Bill handles and confronts his condition that I, for one, dread ever happening to me.

Bill seems to think that he does not deserve it. I think he does. What do you guys and gals think. Should he keep it or should we remove it?

Roger

Hi Joe,

It was great meeting you and, as much as I would like to join your gathering, I am only a poor pensioner so, unless I find I have won he lottery when I return home, I will have to take a rain check on that.

I have been made more than welcome on both my trips to your vast and wonderful country and enjoy discovering the differences between UK and US English. smile

Roger

Scott, is it this one by chance: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=18523

Hi Rickyjack,

Amy wrote to you earlier asking for details as we cannot see, or know of, any of your posts being removed. Without the information she asked for we have no chance of investigating your query.

Roger

OK Bill I wondered if that is what you thought but that is the guy who developed the PunBB software that Chordie and many other websites use.

Chordie is the brainchild and was developed by Per Egil Kummervold who posts as admin@chordie.

My cats always get fed wet food but there is always a dry food dispenser for them in they get peckish between meals. smile

Hi Bill,

I am glad you enjoyed last night, we had a blast. Jim and Amy are excellent hosts, I renewed my acquaintance with 'Dirty Ed', met 'UncleJoesband' for the first time (he brought a 12er with him which I played several times) and met several of Jim and Amy's family. I am looking forward to seeing more of the area and getting some serious photography done. smile.

Roger

By the way, I see you posted your age in this one. In one of your messages last night you mentioned that you were older than I. I am afraid I am 3 years older that you my friend. Third of May 1947 is my birth date. lol

Bill, who is Rickard Andersson please?

That glow in the sky is me blushing....

Too true Joe and I have been catching up on sleep; 24.5 hours on the go with very little sleep makes Roger a rather tired boy and I have been having one or two issues with internet connections.

As you rightly say Bill, you are able to edit to correct the songs and save them which is a benefit to yourself and other Members.

I decided to play the game, "Where in the world is Roger?"  Well... from tracking flights - assuming he got on them properly, Roger should currently be relaxing in NY City waiting for his last flight.  We'll be heading out in a couple hours (around the same time his flight does) to meet him on his final "leg of the race" (ever watch Amazing Race? LOL)

We'll get him back here and get him all tucked into a pretty pink room for the night.  smile

The location was correct. The relaxing was most definitely not!! After being on my feet for 20 hours with very little sleep on the flight over the pond my final flight was delayed and hour and a half (on top of the 4 hours I was expecting). I was desperate to get some shuteye but dare not in case I missed the flight. lol

Thanks for the patience in waiting for me, Amy and Jim, and I did not notice that the room was pink. I will go and look now. big_smile

Bill, if I might make a suggestion. Instead of writing your post and then pressing 'Submit' press the 'Preview' instead. You will then be able to see how your post will appear and make any corrections before you 'Submit' it.

I always do this. It gives me chance to see whether I have any spelling mistakes or typo's and, if I am posting a photo, I can see a/ whether I have got the URL right and b/ check whether the photo is the right size for the page,

Roger

I 'Preview'ed this and corrected my punctuation smile

I am having no issues with Win10 (I hope I am not tempting fate saying that). Everything is the same as it was apart from closing down is so much simpler.

Roger

P.S. I upgraded from 8.1.

No Bill, once the change is made the original cannot be viewed.

Roger

I have to say if any of the content of this proposed CD contain expletives in it then count me out.

I am from the old school. OK we all will swear if hurt or shocked as it is done on impulse but to write or record swear words is done as a deliberate attempt to upset or offend. There are far better adjectives in the English language that can be used without resorting to bad language.

UJB, It is obviously a fake. the label says it was made in Nazareth and everyone knows that is where Jesus came from and it is in Israel, not the USA. So, if you bring it To Amy's when I am there next week I will take it to Portugal and save you any embarrassment. wink smile lol

Seriously, great guitar for 3.5 hours work.

Roger

I am game, count me in.
